  1. It sounds like your brake lines are too short. When pulling down on the the front risers the tail should not be deflecting down at all.
  2. I have not had one yet at 1244 skydives
  3. As stated above, one thing to keep in mind is if you have to chop ( how easy is it to stand out from everything around it when you are looking for it). I personally would go a different color. Kirk
  4. I totally agree with you on this one I had a Crossfire 2 130 loaded 1.85 to 1 and doing a front riser 180° turn I would loose 450 feet. I really do not consider that a mega short recovery arch. Now by no means is it as long as the Katana or any crossbrace canopy, but I would say it has second to tha longest recovery arche in non crossbraced canopies. As far as riser pressure the only thing I have flown that had lighter riser pressure was a Velocity and a Xaos 27 cell. Kirk
  5. I personally think 200 jumps is a great minimum jump requirement before adding a camera. A camera beyond having its own set of emergency proceedures is a large distraction. Soon after getting a camera one starts shifting focus from skydiving to making sure they are capturing it on video. Take to instructors and please be safe Kirk
  6. Right now in your skydiving career you need to focus on skydiving. Adding a camera anywhere on your body just adds risks that you are not ready for.
  7. Here is a link to video of the VX 39 Project. http://www.skydivingmovies.com/ver2/pafiledb.php?action=file&id=1584&string=vx%2039
  8. The video I have on my computer is from a news cast in Europe somewhere and shows him receiving it and a compulation of his first jumps on it, even a few jumps with Jeb wingsuiting it. Kirk
  9. Luis Cani’s and Icarus have even went further and he has landed a VX 39. There is video on the web of his landing it. It is pretty incredible footage as Luis does not even take one step when landing it to a complete stop. Kirk
  10. It is my understanding that the Xaos 21 21sq foot canopy was built for displaying at the Precision booth only. It was built completely to scale and constructed exactly as all production Xaos's. I believe Andy Farington saw the canopy and wanted to try and fly it. From there it took off and some saw the potential of flying relative to wingsuits. Kirk

    Brown Recluse

Their bites can be extremely nasty, My neighbor got bitten by one and had a large portion of the skin on her calf affected by it. She had to take a month off of work. Here is some info on their bite. Brown recluse spider bites often go unnoticed initially because they are usually painless bites. Occasionally, some minor burning that feels like a bee is noticed at the time of the bite. Symptoms usually develop 2-8 hours after a bite. Keep in mind that most bites cause little tissue destruction. Victims may experience these symptoms: Severe pain at bite site after about 4 hours Severe itching Nausea Vomiting Fever Myalgias (muscle pain) Initially the bite site is mildly red and upon close inspection may reveal fang marks. Within a few hours, the redness gives way to pallor with a red ring surrounding the area, or a "bull's-eye" appearance. The lesion will often appear to flow downhill over the course of many hours. The center area will then often blister, which over 12-48 hours can sink, turning bluish then black as this area of tissue dies. The wound can appear like the following: Bull's-eye appearance (common) (Note: If you live in an area where Lyme disease is common (Northeastern states), then this type of lesion is more likely caused by tick-borne Lyme disease than a brown recluse spider bite.) Blistering (common) Necrosis (death) of skin and subcutaneous fat (less common) Severe destructive necrotic lesions with deep wide borders (rare)
  12. I have had my opinion on this subject since I was 10 years old. I used to baby sit a little girl that her mother always slept with her, when ever I tried to put the girl to sleep she would cry until the mother came home. Once she cry so much she got sick. As an adult I have dated a few women that would let their children sleep with them and this always became an issue for the child whenever I would sleep over. This also set me up as the bad guy since I was taking their mommy from them at night. Kirk
  13. I truely hope to God you are kidding otherwise you will be a DGIT. A Katana is one of the most high performance non crossbraced mains made. Kirk
  14. I think the company is only west coast but try GreatWest. I have $150k policy for $25 a month. They only have one exclusion and that is suicide. Kirk
  15. Part of your training is to build an internal time clock or altitude sensor, that is belly to earth you should have some idea of how long till pull time. If this was short cutted by relying on an audible to telll you when to pull you would never develop your internal time clock. So the answer is no I do not think any instructor will let you use an audible while going through training. I know there is alot to take in when starting skydiving, just try to relax and it will all come to you over time and jumps. Kirk
  16. While my only basis for my opinion is just my life experiance, I have never met a Heather that is not a mental case ( I have dated two and known 4 ohters)and while I have only met one nice Lisa I have met a large number of Lisa's that are total nut jobs ( I have known atleast 7 Lisa) to. Kirk
  17. I loved my Xaos 27 cell but the opennings were either the 360° turn one way or the other or it furtune cookied (where the end cells inflate and fly toward each other while the center stays uninflated) I have talked to another who owned a Xaos 27 cell and he had the same experiance. I just thought it was too inconsistent for me personally to hook it to my wingsuit. Kirk
  18. I have a VX 109 and it opens nice. I found the trick for me to get consistent good openings is to PRO pack it roll the nose by splitting it in half roll 4 end cells each side toward the center cell, tuck that in and quarter the slider making sure the slider is over the nose. Kirk I would not suggest getting an x mod. Have you ever jumped a Xaos 27 cell they kind of have unique opennings. Great canopy but I would never use one for wingsuit jumps( I always ended up with a 360° turn one direction or the other on opennings) and I have used my VX for my last 50 wingsuit jumps.
  19. It looks to me that the stain is from excess lubricant on your cable.
  20. I keep my hands out of reach of my student on opennings. I had one student who was rather large and strong grab my arms momentarly on openning so from that point forward I keep my hands up and out of the students reach. Kirk
  21. While I cannot comment on the squirting orgasm, I can comment on the normal female orgasm. They do not just ejaculate more vaginal fluid. It has a completely different taste and a much thicker consistency(almost a Phlegm consistency) than normal vaginal fluid. Sometime on the more explosive orgasms this fluid can be projected out as it has hit the back of my throat on quite a few occasions. Kirk
  22. How about filling in your profile so we know what level of experience you have Nunya Bidness

  24. I am not preaching to anyone start jumping 1.5 wingloading at 130 jumps either. I feel it is greatly dependant on your canopy flying skills and style. Yes as I stated being conservative is the safest approach but it not a death sentence to push beyond the norm as long as your skills are good and you get canopy coaching. Hell I know jumpers at 600 jumps that really have trouble landing safely at 1.3 wing loading.
  25. While the conservative path is always the safest path, I truly do not feel he is being too aggressive either. Once again it truly depends on his canopy skills. I also find it absurd that you are being sarcastic and trying to give advise to someone with more jumps than you. Personally, at 130 jumps I went to a wingloading of 1.5 to 1 on an original Safire and did 300 jumps on it. I did not have any landing issues what so ever. Kirk
