There is zero reason to believe they do not do exactly that. Sanders is exceptional in the sense that she publicly advocates hate as part of her job. They do not need to ask every single Trump supporter to leave in order to be consistent. They took the high road. If it was me, I'd find out what carriers my friends used and experiment to see if it something with the land line or something with a carrier (or two). I graduated with well above average levels of student debt. One year's worth of salary difference is more than sufficient to cover the debt incurred. Another couple year's difference is sufficient to cover wages lost while attending school. What, in your view, incriminating "evidence" has been presented in this thread? Certainly there's nothing that current employers or law enforcement would be interested in, assuming neither of those groups have access to a time machine.
