  1. The difference is that downloading a movie from a pirate site does not mean that the studio now has one less copy of the movie to sell. Stealing a coffee from Starbucks leaves Starbucks with less coffee to sell. Many people who download pirated copies of movies don't do so instead of paying for a copy. If it wasn't freely available, they would just go without watching it. The studio isn't losing a sale. That's not to say that there aren't some people who download pirated movies instead of purchasing. But it certainly isn't the case that the studios lose money every time some downloads a movie from a pirate site. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!
  2. Which current Republican POTUS has failed to condemn Akin's remarks? I bet you can't think of a single one, can you? Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!
  3. The money would be better spent seeing a nutritionist and buying a couple bikes, gym memberships, etc. I doubt a two week crash course is going to be very effective for much besides making the parents feel better about themselves for throwing money at the problem they created. 4. Seriously? And you claim you're an engineer? Considering how poor your math is, it's no surprise your logic is also deficient. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!

  7. The criteria listed are each very subjective. Nearly every criterion can be reasonably argued either way. That makes the definition very unclear. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!
  8. or - simply a transfer for wealth mechanism for some at the expense of others where we all are told we belong to the first group unless you still think that giving it away will 'reduce' the overall costs for all It wasn't accidental that I used the word average, and not typical. Yes, it is probable that implementing a tax to pay for "Medicare for all" would decrease the total cost of providing that level of health insurance for everybody. The private sector is really bad at providing health insurance efficiently. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!

  10. So then, you agree that an increase in taxes decreases the amount of money that "you" would have? No. It may or may not have that result. It's entirely plausible that an increase in taxes results in a corresponding savings in private expenditures such that the amount of savings exceeds the amount of tax increase. In such a case, an increase in taxes would increase the amount of money that I have. For example, if taxes were increased enough to fully fund Medicare for all, it is probable that the average person would save more by not buying equivalent care from the private sector than that person would spend in increased taxes. Such a tax increase would increase the amount of money the average person has available for discretionary spending. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!

  12. When he was gathering his documents so he would be ready to retire, my grandfather found out from his birth certificate that he was almost 65 instead of almost 64. I don't think he minded being a year older than he thought! Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!
  13. No. I'd welcome the MPAA to join us in this century. Until the movie (and television) studios decide to adopt business plan more compatible with digital lifestyles, there will be other sources providing their goods in a more consumer friendly manner. For example, I know many people who stopped downloading video from pirate sites when Netflix online content became available. Unfortunately, Netflix does not meet your requirements. If you're planning on doing any transfers, then there's no real reason to avoid the pirate sites. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!
  14. Last time I checked, BHO does not do anything with your money. He spends our money as Congress directs. It ceases being your money when it is owed and paid in taxes. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!
  15. A pre-amp of some sort would be ideal, but that mixer should work, in conjunction with the 1/4 inch headphone adapters. 16. Infinite transfers implies stealing, at least as far as the MPAA and DMCA is concerned. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!
  17. He hasn't been elected yet, fortunately. Yes he has, he's a Congressman. akin.house.gov/ I hope his district is pleased with their choice. My mistake; you are correct. He's not my representative, but he wants to be my senator. Even without his comment, his platform is sufficient for me to vote against him. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! 18. Assuming no drugs or alcohol (and that neither party is a nudist): I think it's reasonable to assume that continued consent is implied, subject to being expressly rescinded at any time, as long as all clothing remains off while sharing a bed. It may well be implied at other times, too, depending on the relationship. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!

  20. Oh good. You're back to rejecting logic and reason and blaming the victim. So a doctor friend of ours … See thread for context. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!
  21. Oh good. You're back to rejecting logic and reason and blaming the victim. And their parents for being fucktards! Better? Don't blame the children blame the parents, dont blame the parents blame society.... Why don't you walk up to your engineer buddy and ask him why he taught his daughters such unhealthy lifestyle habits that they grew up to be diabetic tubs of lard? Yes, it would still be a complete asshole thing to do, but you would finally be accurate with respect to your blame game. Of course, that would do nothing to address the problem. It would just allow you to do what most adults recognize as unacceptable social behavior. If you want to address the problem, see my original post in the thread. "Free parking is bad. 24. Not surprisingly, you still don't get it. And once again, you avoid answering any questions relevant to the topic. From whom do you think those girls learned such unhealthy lifestyle habits? Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!
  25. It doesn't make a bit of sense to blame anyone but the parents. Where do you think kids learn their eating habits? Do you really believe it's a coincidence that all three daughters of those parents are unhealthy? Once again, you want to abandon all logic and reason in an attempt to rationalize how being rude to unhealthy people doesn't make one an asshole. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour!
