Fortunately for me, since I think the whole sin concept is a load of crap, then I can't be guilty of sin. Thus, the proverbial Christ didn't die for my sins, since my non belief in sin eliminates the possibility of me being a sinner. I consider myself a rational person and I have done many things I considered to be wrong. Even still, if saying that makes me irrational, then so be it, I would rather be a man of truth, than a man of rationale. I absolutely agree with you on this. Consider how much money has been wasted on the war on terror, despite the fact that the probability of any of us being harmed from terrorism is near zero, compared to much more likely scenarios such as unexpected unemployment, the need for catastrophic medical care, or an impending need to ensure our kids can get enough education to prepare them for a profitable existence in the labor market. This definition still makes zero sense. It implies that as long as one does not feel guilty about an action, that action was not sinful. Furthermore, if one stops feeling guilty about an action, that action ceases to be sinful. Rational people do not intentionally do anything they consider to be wrong. There is always some justification to make the action the correct action, whether that assessment ends up being accurate or not. I have no doubt that Hitler felt his actions were justified, just as the Pope feels his actions are justified. I'm sure Nixon felt his actions were justified, just as Ghandi felt his actions were justified. Every intentional action is correct from the perspective from which it is made. Clinton is assassinated as long as he is a viable option for the nomination. I going to have to disagree about the Holocaust. Let's also not forget the Crusades, modern jihadist movements, Sunni/Shia conflicts, Israel related violence, etc. Religion isn't the only cause of political/ideological violence, but it does appear to be the single biggest cause. I've taken a few online classes. Generally speaking, about two-thirds of them offered the same quality as brick and mortar classes (which isn't always good), one-third were structured in a manner ill-suited for online classes. Much of the success will depend on how much time and energy you want to invest, and much will depend on how much time and energy the professor wants to invest. One is of little use without the other. You dont have to believe in sin to judge someone. Do you think you are guilty of judging others? Yes or no? Sure. There are a few posters on this site that I am constantly judging to be morons. That doesn't mean I think they're doing anything wrong; it just means I don't believe they're on the preferred side of the intelligence mean. I've judged some singers to be tone deaf. I've judged some well meaning roommates to be appalling cooks (and others to be excellent cooks). Heck, I even helped judge a Physics Olympics on a couple different occasions.
