  1. Now making his second appearance in as many pages. Missouri Gov. Greitens charged with second felony "Missouri Gov. Eric Greitens has been charged with felony computer tampering related to his alleged use of a donor list from his veterans’ charity for his 2016 gubernatorial campaign, according to the state's attorney general. "It’s the second felony charge the Missouri Republican is facing. … "[His first] charge is for invasion of privacy for allegedly taking a partially or fully nude photo and 'subsequently transmitted the image contained in the photograph in a manner that allowed access to that image via a computer.' "He faces a criminal trial on that charge on May 14." Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!
  2. Clinton had the primaries won by the beginning of March. After Super Tuesday, her lead was insurmountable for all practical purposes, because the Democratic primaries were fair enough to not include any "winner take all" states. Everyone knew it but the Bernie and his Bras, and it had zero to do with stacking the deck in Clinton's favor. Sanders simply lacked sufficient support among Democratic primary voters to have any hope at winning the nomination. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!
  3. A recent Opening Arguments episode mentioned some exceptions to the "demonstrate harm" requirement. Apparently, there are some disparaging comments the damage from which is assumed. Edited to add link. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!
  4. To rephrase, the same data that raises the question cannot be used to answer the question. We have to obtain a new sample to answer new questions. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!
  5. Not necessarily. The distribution of causes of incidents would likely be very different for wingsuit pilots vs. non-wingsuit pilots. We might find similar differences in incident causes between those who fly cross-braced canopies and those who do not, or between those who fly camera and those who do not. It can be very useful to consider equipment when considering incidents. We do, however, have to be mindful of our degrees of freedom when we are identifying possible features for consideration. Thus, we are (fortunately) not likely to see enough fatalities in a short enough time period to identify any significant safety differences between, for instance, a Sun Path H&C and a UPT H&C. (Note that I'm in no way suggesting Sun Path's containers are safer than UPT's, or vice versa.) Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!
  6. CNN is just a propaganda outlet for extreme centrists. ETA: NPR did an article: "Overall, the documents confirm much of what has become a familiar narrative about the president and the onetime top G-Man". Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!
  7. Federal Judge Holds Kansas Elections Official In Contempt Of Court A federal judge has found Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach in contempt of court for disobeying a court order in a case testing that state's controversial proof-of citizenship voting law. U.S. District Judge Julie Robinson says Kobach violated her preliminary injunction to allow some potentially ineligible voters to remain eligible to cast a ballot, pending the outcome of the lawsuit. 8. I would argue that they oppose a government that reflects christian values. They want a government that advocates Christian beliefs, while shunning christian values. I'm referring to big-C Christians as those for whom the central tenet of their spirituality is belief in a supernatural Christ, and little-c christians to refer to those who act strive to act as Christ acted, regardless of spiritual belief (or even lack thereof). While Christians are busy worshiping the false idol into which they've transformed Christ, christians are busy living through Christ, enjoying the salvation derived from doing good deeds for the sake of doing good things, for people with whom they may have nothing in common other than being human. 10. Fixed it for you. You can safely ignore the supernatural aspect of the Christ myth. That was added later, after the man was long dead. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!
  11. You do realize that that stands in diametric opposition to the teachings of Christ, right? He was a progressive liberal who advocated progressive liberalism. That would be the spirit of christianity. You should give it a try sometime. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!

  21. You don't see an obvious problem with a source that declares the average African to be mentally retarded? IQ is supposed to be a measure of innate intelligence, but IQ tests in nearly all forms are really a measure of education, and this listing shows that rather clearly. These values are used to support racist and sexist beliefs; I'm a bit shocked to see you giving it credibility. I'm open to the likelihood that there are small variations by ethnicity, but not two full standard deviations, or even one. If you look at the literacy rates by country, that says a lot about why the continent of Africa would be low: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_literacy_rate Of course that also brings up the question of how they would measure IQ among people who can't even read the test. The test to which the site linked was entirely visual, IIRC, though it would undoubtedly have a much less intuitive format to someone who never took a standardized test before. I took the test to see if it scored me where professionally administered tests have scored me, but at the end, I would have had to enable FB apps to see the results, so I don't know how I did. 22. Sure it does. When news decisions are driven by business interests, content tends to suffer. Net, they are a less credible source of information than NPR, BBC, and PBS. That's not to say that no for-profit news source is credible, but there's a reason that public news sources are clustered near the top & center. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! 23. It's not free news that is the problem. It's for profit news. Once news providers are motivated by profit, whether that profit is derived from subscriptions or ads, their interests shift to audience size, and they are compelled to tailor stories to the widespread confirmation biases of their audience. There was a time when television networks subsidized their newscasts with revenue from their other shows, treating their newscasts as non-profit public services. In such times, news providers were motivated to be accurate with their coverage. In a very real sense, capitalism killed news credibility. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! 24. That's a fair observation. Obama made an effort to ensure those he appointed were qualified for the positions to which he appointed them. Trump embraced cronyism.
