  1. That's the beauty of it. Either way, it offers an opportunity to bitch about Obama. It's a great example of the Bart Simpson paradox, damned if you do, damned if you don't. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!

  3. I've heard some conservatives claim that the terrorists hate us because of our freedoms. I've also heard some conservatives claim that tax funded healthcare would make us less free. Doesn't it stand to reason that, if those assertions are true, tax funded healthcare would make us safer from the terrorists? Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!
  4. So, if, for example, that "certain percentage" was 15%, then someone making $20,000 annually would have a $3000 standard deduction, and someone making $200,000 annually would have a $30,000 standard deduction. I don't see how that is fair at all. It seems to heavily biased against the poor. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!
  5. Didn't I say that like 4 pages ago? Remember the collective "you" and "I"? My mistake. I thought that statement was superseded by your subsequent posts in the thread. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!
  6. So, if I'm understanding you correctly, you're now claiming that the ends justify the means. We'll have to agree to disagree. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!
  7. I fail to see how that is relevant to my post, but if it makes you feel better to get that off your chest, I'm happy for you. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!

  9. I don't know which sounds less appealing, dumping to cops or befriending them. In that situation, I think I'd prefer a less obvious hustle that doesn't require me to dump all night in order to cash in. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!
  10. You shouldn't assume that some of us aren't veterans simply because we recognize what the VFW post commander did in response to the vandalism was also wrong. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!
  11. I don't know about your exact area, but in most places a picture ID is not required to vote. Florida, Hawaii, Louisiana, South Carolina and South Dakota require ID. An Indiana appellate court declared that it was not legal to require an ID to vote. http://blogs.findlaw.com/law_and_life/2009/09/no-id-no-vote-voter-id-law-not-okay-in-indiana.html I'm in Florida. 13. I had to do just that last November. And, I got lots of static from the volunteers because I used a university ID (valid form of ID by law for voting purposes) instead of a driver license. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!
  14. It sends a clear non-verbal message that she enjoyed the shared intimacy and wants to savor her memory of the experience. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!
  15. Having seen Skymama in her clothes, I believe it's safe to say she would look much better in a dress shirt than the girl in the pic that she posted. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!
  16. Agreed. Vengeance is the simplest, most probable explanation. There you go replying without reading and understanding the posts to which your replying again. It appears that you don't quite grasp exactly what vigilantism means. There need not be an eighth amendment violation. It is about taking the law into one's own hands, bypassing the justice system. 22. In that jurisdiction, it might be. Since I don't know what the laws are in that jurisdiction, I choose not to make that assumption. You can if you wish. That's a big assumption. You don't know the guy. You're right I don't know the guy. I stand by my statement, nonetheless. VERY wrong assumption here. . . 10/10 irony score for you. Putting words in the Post commander's mouth. Assumption. If he wanted justice, he would have utilized the justice system. It's not like he was trying to keep the incident a secret. If he wanted compensation, he would have sought restitution via money or labor. He didn't seek these things. He stated he couldn't tolerate someone burning the flag. He sought vengeance for that action. Nonetheless, if you have an alternate reasonable explanation to explain everything, I'm all ears. Why do you think he did it? Math tutoring available. 23. I said the commander exercised vigilantism. I also said that I am not aware if there are laws against vigilantism in that particular jurisdiction. In other words (to make it easy for you to comprehend), I didn't accuse the post commander of committing a crime. I said he showed a lack of respect for the rule of law (and the Constitution, since he said was avenging flag burning aspect instead of the vandalism aspect). I've offered sufficient support for that claim. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!
  24. To conclude that the police tuned a blind eye is faulty logic. It appeals to your argument, not known facts. I assumed nothing; you did. I simply called you on it. Math tutoring available. Only $6! per hour! First lesson: Factorials!
