Obama to impose $100-per-flight Skydiving Tax
DaVinci replied to JohnRich's topic in Speakers Corner
You support raising taxes on the "rich". Well, people that spend thousands of dollars a year in pursuit of ONLY enjoyment are doing pretty damn well. The average person makes ~100 jumps a year and at $25 a jump that is 2500 a year on just "play". Those people could easily afford to make half as many jumps and pay twice as much for them to better support the poor. Before running off at the mouth, you should check to see if you have a consistent message.... cause you don't when it comes to your toys and activities. "The rich should pay more...... Uh, except in aviation" -

No, but what you are refusing to do is anything that helps your cause. You refuse to do anything that will help the plight of the people you claim to care about as long as they will bring you money. If you REALLY cared about the uninsured going bankrupt due to injury.... you would not let them jump out of your planes. Instead, you want me and everyone else to pay more in taxes so you can continue to make money off of them. So you ONLY seem to care when it is a WIN-WIN for YOU and YOU alone. -
Warren Buffett calls for higher taxes for US super rich
DaVinci replied to dreamdancer's topic in Speakers Corner
Dude, maybe you should read your own words before you post. you said, "No, it's about paying a reasonable contribution towards the cost of running the country based on what the country has given them" How is that NOT "From each according to his ability" Your are so blinded by something that you just refuse to see what you yourself type. It is really up to YOU to prove that taxing wealth is better than income since that is a position YOU hold. I never said taxing income was the best way. BTW, you going to write a check to uncle sam for your Mooney and MG? After all they are assets and contribute to your WEALTH. -

2403 square foot, 2.5 bathroom, single family home sold in Dec 2010 for 221k... Of course you could have moved into a mansion.... And your toy car and 3910N.... You might be what many would call "rich" even if not in the top 1% -

Ah, so something like: From each according to his ability, to each according to his need? -
Do you think ALL the Colonists were ready to fight on June 14, 1775? Do you think that ALL the South were ready to fight on April 12, 1861? Fact is that a small battle may indeed light a war, or a small battle maybe all that is needed. AND, do you agree or not that the Battle of Athens was an example of an armed populace taking on government? So in that case, the 2nd did in fact work.... Do you not agree?

Remember the thread awhile back about schizophrenic gun owners?

Gee, I am sorry that you see me claiming YOUR idea of the 'language of conservatives' does not jive with the actual language of conservatives as an attack. -

You have proposed infringing on innocent citizens rights. Registration and prior to ownership screenings would be a new regulation for all but a very few areas... So yes, you do propose new regulations. For example in there are no FEDERAL regulations about either. Just admit it... sheesh. -
Still waiting on this BTW: Especially in light of this: Article I, Section II, Clause I Amendment XV Amendment XVII Amendment XIX Amendment XXIV And still waiting on you to explain where you got your definition of "bear" as in "to keep and BEAR arms" You could just admit that you had no idea what you were talking about... Or you could just continue to ignore how wrong you were.

Obama to impose $100-per-flight Skydiving Tax
DaVinci replied to JohnRich's topic in Speakers Corner
I am actually torn about this proposal. Guys like you keep claiming that the "rich" need to pay their fair share and that a little regulation never hurts anyone. Hate to break it to you.... but a guy like you with a toy car and a private plane.... You are "rich" to many people. And all of us that spend money to jump out of planes for fun have a little bit extra disposable income than most people. This is a fine example of you being good with additional taxes EXCEPT when it comes to the things YOU like. -

No, you could provide healthcare.... You could not allow people to jump. You could ALSO make sure that only people with insurance jump... you know, since injuries and accidents often bankrupt people without it. But you CHOOSE to do neither. And I am not saying you don't have that right, but you are saying one thing and then doing NOTHING to prevent the issue you claim exists. Oh I have... You have claimed that people without insurance often go broke when injured, yet you allow those people to get onto your aircraft. I will admit that you want EVERYONE to pay for the HC. But I still find it very funny you refuse to even try and provide to your own staff. -

You mean using facts and your own logic and comments against you? Yes, I do that. -
Congressional Hearings on BATFEs " Fast and furious"
DaVinci replied to Darius11's topic in Speakers Corner
The problem would be if cops set up a sting to sell drugs and then used those transactions to try and show how much the drug problem is and proposed new laws that really did nothing to stop the problem and impeded on honest citizens. So if say cops started setting up stings at Walgreens to encourage people to buy more than one pack of Pseudoephedrine and when the shop called 911 about it they were told to ignore it and sell it anyway.... THEN the cops used the higher traffic of Pseudoephedrine to make it so you could only buy one pill at a time. That is the problem. Not that there was a sting... There WASNT a sting. The ATF allowed guns to be smuggled into Mexico. Those guns were used to kill a lot of people to include Americans... Then the ATF tries to use the higher volume of guns to MX as an excuse to require US citizens to jump through more hoops. -
Wow, that is the best you can do? Lame

So the US is just having no issues at all in Afghanistan and Iraq? You are assuming that all of the troops would blindly fight against the citizens. Also, you know that if just the HUNTERS in Wisconsin number 600k? Pennsylvania 750k? Michigan 700k? That is 2,050,000 The total active US Military is 1,477,896 Yes, some in the Military hunted, some in those States hunted in more than one State. But still, 2,050,000????

Wrong answer! June 14, 1775 April 12, 1861 August 2, 1946 So it has happened, and if it is seen to get bad enough it can happen again.... and that is EXACTLY what the founding fathers wanted.

So, you would support an abortion up to the point the baby pops out?

Fact is that human nature is for humans to discount the things they didn't have to put any effort into getting. Like lefties claiming the "inherited rich" do not understand the value of work. Of course, I do not expect you to listen to anything that challenges your already held opinion. -
6 Ways the Rich Are Waging a Class War Against the American People
DaVinci replied to dreamdancer's topic in Speakers Corner
And the "poor" in the US have cars, cell phones, play-stations and bigger TV's than me. so "rich" and "poor" are not really good terms. Hell, the "middle class" can be someone with $25,000 to $100,000 a year in income. Of course, 100k in SF or San Diego will not really get you very far. -
There are fat ones and there are skinny ones. there are racists in every State, and I'd bet most Countries. Now, if I asked if all people from the UK drink too much and have bad teeth.... Would you think that would be accurate?

Sorry, but murdering/not murdering someone is not exactly a difficult right/wrong choice.

You say it will make no difference. We say that if they have to pay they might pay closer attention to what the govt spends. My Father made me pay for my own education. His reasoning was I would actually go to class instead of party. Same logic applies here. The lower tax brackets might not make an economic impact, but it sure as hell will not hurt and might actually get them to pay attention to the govts spending. -

It goes to show you want OTHERS to do it.... But you can't be bothered to stand up for your own convictions. You have the ability to help fix the issue in your own business, but choose not to take action. Whatever happened to think globally and act locally? I guess you do not recycle since your part would be insignificant? -
Aw, such a cute little personal attack. Maybe you could focus on the discussion instead of making them? No, it actually does not. Claiming it does does not make it true. Try again without the PA's if you are able.

Nothing like Michigan: 5.7 BTW, CA is 4.9 not exactly leaps and bounds below 5.0
