  1. I'm not convinced you have any idea of the real costs of medical care in the US. What you know about is the cost being charged based on not being able to compare and shop for prices.
  2. Then maybe your side should quit using the car insurance analogy? Yes, I bought aspirin and some OTC meds at times. All of which were easily paid for out of my pocket. Would you support the federal govt mandating you to buy an AR15 to stand watch? The fact is once you permit the Govt to make you buy products from companies, you have opened up a flood gate.
  3. Opinions are fine. Trying to pass those opinions off as fact is not fine. Anyone can have and express an opinion. But when they lack the experience and background to make sound opinions, and yet still try to pass those opinions off as fact, then they are dangerous. For example, lets say a guy did a tandem in 2012. Lets say he had an opinion of how the harness felt. Well that opinion would be valid. But if that same person had an opinion the Instructors job on a tandem - His opinion would not be worth much if anything.
  4. You are clearly just touting an anti gun agenda. You have no evidence that any of those guns are real, you have no evidence that those guns are operational, you have no proof of anything. But you felt like you needed to bash lawful gun ownership and this helped you... Good job, you did your part in the anti gun agenda you may move out now. Personally, I find any type of photo like this silly.... But this is no more ridiculous than any other posed family photo.
  5. Yes, but only if you ignore most of the post does it apply. "One last thing.... Canada to my knowledge has pretty much legalized pot. For all you know it could be the lack of drug pushers that makes Canada safer. Or simply stoned people don't fight as much" You ignored the point about "There is some evidence that temperature plays a factor. There are fewer killings in Chicago in the Winter than the Summer." The fact is there are plenty of factors and to ignore all of them and make a blanket claim like "Lack of guns does not hurt" is dishonest at best. " Of the same or similar nature or kind". You have a 66% European heritage and a 26% mixture of most likely European heritage with only a 6% of "other". So if a husband is from England and the mother from France..... The child would fit into "other" but still be of European background. Compare the violence rate of say Sweden to say Bosnia. Which in essence makes it not a big issue in Canada. And to engage you had to latch onto two sections of a five part post: 1. Culture 2. Economics 3. Education 4. Weather 5. Drugs And compare those two sections to Canada alone while ignoring the other three. While we are at it.... We could also look at population density. There are plenty of studies that show cities above 750k are much more likely to have higher crime rates than below that number. My point is simply trying to point at one made up data point is silly at best.
  6. You SAY that, but you do not believe that. You think you have the right to say what I spend my money on. You also think you have the right to restrict my 2nd amendment rights even though I am not a felon or insane. If you think it is OK to force you will onto others.... Then you do not believe in my rights at all.
  7. They don't *know*. They suspect, and on average they are correct. Or they really think they are invincible. Either way the ACA requires these people who don't want or don't need insurance to buy it to make it work... And so far they are not buying into it.
  8. You do not need insurance to own a car. You do not need insurance to drive the car on your own property. You only need insurance if your actions might hurt others on the open road. No, even before I was in the military I did not need expensive medical care.
  9. There are lots of 20-30 years olds that do not need insurance. They even have a term for them "Invincibles".
  10. Having a body does not equal needing medical care. I didn't need medical care till after my military service.
  11. This comment explains a lot about you. It seems you do not understand compensation very well. BTW, have you started paying for insurance for YOUR employees yet? Which is what it seems you want to happen to everyone. Ah yes, can't defeat the logic so you make fun of it.
  12. 1. There are more Countries than the US and Canada. 2. Canada: British Isles origin 28%, French origin 23%, other European 15%, Amerindian 2%, other, mostly Asian, African, Arab 6%, mixed background 26% US: white 79.96%, black 12.85%, Asian 4.43%, Amerindian and Alaska native 0.97%, native Hawaiian and other Pacific islander 0.18%, two or more races 1.61% (July 2007 estimate) And using the CIA data, Canada has a higher MIXED, but that does not mean non-homogenous. In fact a mix is more homogenous. From your own source: Superior and appellate courts in Ontario have repeatedly declared Canada's cannabis laws to be of no force and/or effect if a prescription is obtained Do you care to do the comparison on convictions in Canada and the US for pot as a rate?
  13. Have you seen me support viagra being covered? For the record, if Hobby Lobby didn't want to pay for Viagra either, I'd think they should not have to pay for it. I don't think you should. I don't think Hobby Lobby should.
  14. You are saying that you should have to pay for that.... I never said anything about making you pay for me. The irony of you saying you support freedom of choice, while you support the ACA is off the chart!!!!!!
  15. No, that is you telling me what I have to provide for you. Again, no.... Try reading it again. YOU support others having to spend money on things you want.
  16. Nope, that statement about how the gun laws you propose will not work is pretty much valid no matter the situation. As my last post showed your bias and ignorance of the situations you mentioned. Magazine size does not matter. There is plenty of data showing that and only willful ignorance can explain your making that claim.
  17. Same goes for you. Didn't matter in Columbine (they had plenty of rounds left), didn't matter in CT (he had plenty of rounds left When police found Lanza's body -- killed by a single, self-inflicted shot from a Glock 10 mm handgun -- they also discovered that the Bushmaster rifle was loaded with 14 bullets in its 30-round capacity magazine, plus one round in a chamber. This was one of 10 of this firearm's 30-round capacity magazines at the scene, Sedensky explained. More ammunition for the Glock and a Sig Sauer P226 9 mm handgun was also found. Three such magazines still contained 30 rounds. There were six more magazines nearby -- three of them were empty, while the others had 10, 11 or 13 live rounds in them), didn't matter in Aurora (he had plenty of rounds left when he gave up), didn't matter in VT..... Didn't matter here. So someone is showing a selection bias...
  18. None of the proposed laws would have prevented this... Legally bought shotgun, not AR. He owned the weapon for about a week so a waiting period would not have worked. What did work was an armed good guy. Yet some people blasted the NRA for making that suggestion.
  19. Nope, you could also buy medication. The fact is that you do not have to buy automobile insurance just because you exist. Plus, you could just walk. I doubt this very much. No you just can't answer it, so you claim it is not relevant.
  20. You are assuming that no other options existed to handle her medical condition. And this is unimportant. We are discussing birth control and condoms are a method of birth control. Just because you want another form does not mean you should get it.
  21. Why should you be allowed to dictate what anybody else does? Why should YOU? Simply put, I think I have no right to tell you what you can or can't do with yourself until it impacts someone else. YOU however are not doing that. You are trying to force me to do what you want even if I do not want to do it. What gives YOU the right to tell me what I can do with my money? Who made you the only person who can have an opinion?
  22. Without knowing the reason you really can't make that statement with any validity. I did a study one day. I found that Countries with homogenous cultures normally had lower violence than Countries that had a mix of cultures and races. I took that and looked at several States and then Cities in the US and found that race has a lot to do with violence. Now, some might claim that means race is the factor.... But I am not saying that. There could be many other factors such as economic opportunity, education..... Lots of possible factors. So many that it honestly became difficult to continue to even identify one to track. There is some evidence that temperature plays a factor. There are fewer killings in Chicago in the Winter than the Summer. In reality, most likely because people are not mixing in the Winter as much.... But that being said, it could help explain why a cold climate has less gun problems that a warmer climate. One last thing.... Canada to my knowledge has pretty much legalized pot. For all you know it could be the lack of drug pushers that makes Canada safer. Or simply stoned people don't fight as much All I am saying here is you can't claim that 'lack of guns does not hurt'. You simply are making a wild guess.
  23. What other things do you think the govt should require people to buy? Because this door has been opened.
  24. I rest my case You still failed: 1. You are free to take a bus and then you do not have to have car insurance. 2. You can drive all day long on your own property and not need car insurance. So, would you support making EVERYONE over the age of 16 buy car insurance even if they didn't have a car?
