OK, so how come the SC has not step up and done something? If he is wrong, then why has not the SC done something?
-
So you claim that the Congress is aiding a criminal? Why has the Courts not done something? Are they in on it also? This is the coolaid the other guy was talking about.
-
Agreed I like it, but how do we pay for it? Why refund 100%? While they are here they drive on the roads. If they get hurt, they get medical care. I hope you get my point. Why not give them back the difference between the 42% and the tax rate they would normally pay? The difference could go to the Border Patrol. I understand this would be taxation without representation, but they should pay something to use the facilities provided by the US taxpayer.

Do you think Iran should be allowed to build nuclear bombs? If so, why? If not, then what do we do about it? -
If you have proof he has done illegal things, call your congressman. Its hard to claim the things he did was illegal since the Congress and Senate vote to support it, and the Courts have not ruled otherwise.
-
He admitted guilt. That makes him either guilty, trying to be a martyr, or stupid as hell. Either way he admitted to it. So I don't care if he did anything or not. If he had claimed to have been not guilty I could understand support for him. But he said he did it. Who are we to not believe him?

China is doing well, and that is in part our own fault. However, this is not the first time in history that people have claimed the US was going bankrupt. It is the best since it works. Democracy while not perfect is better than Communism that honestly in a pure sense fails every time. Socialism has some good points, but again has its draw backs. Not saying that a Democracy is perfect. But the fact the US went from nothing to the most powerful in the world with no serious political up rising tells a vivid story. You may not agree and thats fine. Most times very few people agree. Cool thing about a Demoracy is that if enough people don't agree it can be changed without bloodshed

So do you think the risk was worth it? Do you like how your tax dollars went to this? I personlly do not. I think it was dangerous with little to no return. If there had been an accident, would your opinion change?
-
I don't think he deserves special treatment. However, I don't think he deserves to be specially punished either. This was not a case of if he was guilty. He admitted guilt. It was a case of what to do with him. I think keeping him alive was the right call. Now he will not get his whatever number virgins. But to wish him torment is not good either. Yes, he is a bad man, and he has been judged.

Religiosity attributed to vitamin deficiency
DaVinci replied to narcimund's topic in Speakers Corner
I think the disconnect is you posting something but unwilling to discuss it. Just like you avoided answering my question again. I think you have me wrong. I asked you a question and you avoided it. You have responded to two people and only one after they challenged you on it. No attack, I just wanted to know your take of what you posted and if it applied to other things. My first question was, "OK, so....Who is correct, or are they both correct in your opinion, or both wrong? Or are you just wanting the one that supports you to be correct? If you are willing to support that religion can be "a mental disfunction caused by poor eating habits". Are you willing to say the same about homosexuality, being a Republican/Democrat, prefering blonds over brunettes...ect, or support how some have the right to think that way? " I asked two questions. Both were really the same. If you are willing to attribute one to vitaim deficiency are you willing to attribute other things as well? If you had answered that I would have quit posting along time ago. But you avoided it and considered it an attack. Hey, you want a smart person to talk to you? How about you answer questions and not just lump everyone into a "They hate me"club? I don't hate you, I don't know you. I'd really like to know your thoughts. I already gave my thoughts. I think that there may be something to this study. Just as there may be a genetic link to homosexuality. I base that off of my friends who say they were born that way. Some claim to having tried to be straight and just not liking it. So how far do we take that? Does genetics or vitamin deficiencies determine if you like your mates tall or short? Blond or Brunette? I don't claim to know the truth, only to having an opinion. -
I was talking about Kerry, not Gore. I see how it could get confused, Sorry. My point was Bush got more votes than Kerry both ways. The discussion started about Bush getting more votes than anyone in history, and how that also how that election had the biggest turnout in history. That only happend in this last election right? If not I am sorry.

I am wary of anyone claiming to know Gods plan or reason. It is one of the reasons I don't like religion. I don't mind it either, but I hate how some claim to know something that they could not. I mainly hate how people try to force their beliefs on others. George Carlin said it pretty well. "Do you believe in God? No? (Carlin shoots the imaginary person) Bang!" (Carlin turns to the next person) "Do you believe in God? Yes." (Carlin turns away and then back) Do you believe in MY God? No? Bang". This can be taken even farther. "Do you choose to worship him in the way I do?" Or even "Do you choose to go to the same Church I do?" It seems that unless you are doing exactly how that person wants you must change. If you don't change are a sinner and Evil.

To Billvon : OK so it happens. Does the fact it happens make it OK? I am not asking to charge they guy, I was asking if you thought it was OK. And you answered, so thank you. It seemed to me that you didn't mind.

At 100MPH? With no danger of someone losing a life? That is dangerous and should not be allowed. I could see if it was to get someone to a hospital, or to deal with a shooter. But to get a guy to a ball game? You really think it is OK for the police to risk others lives so a guy can play baseball? You must be a big baseball fan
-
So you think it is OK? I don't think a cop should be allowed to drive like that unless it is a matter of life and death.

OK, stop an listen before you type. My point is that the President and Congress are elected by the people. If the people elect representatives that wish to do "X" then, when "X" happens it is the will of the majority of the population and that is how a Democratic country works. Did I say that? No, I said it is one reason why a rich person would vote democratic. Really, stay on topic. You claiming I am a Republican because I don't look at facts is dumb. My response was to show you how dumb saying things like that is. Clearly you would rather preach than discuss anything since you don't bother to read what I respond with. Show me how putting more people on welfare roles makes the country stronger. I can show you how a company that is doing well hires more and pays better. A President WAS elected. Maybe 50 years ago, but not today. And yet Clintons plan didn't work either. As he was leaving office the economy was headed south. I think you place way to much importance on one person. Also, notice the country is still here even with your "failures" of Hoover, Reagan, and Bush. How about we are not so quick to dole out the money of those that worked for it to those that are not. Then if they want something they get a job. With the money they get from that job they buy things. The problem with your plan is we given them something for nothing and expect that they will do good. That plan just means that we are giving them a free ride and paying for it. Where does this money come from? You cannot lift a bucket up when you are standing in it.

And Bush got more electoral votes, so he won. He got more popular, so more people wanted him than the other guy. And he got the electoral votes, so his team did a better job of selling him in the important areas. Claiming that more people voted against him is pretty stupid since even more voted for him.

Religiosity attributed to vitamin deficiency
DaVinci replied to narcimund's topic in Speakers Corner
The difference I see is that I have admitted several times that religion could be attributed to a vitamin deficiency. He never answered any questions till two posts ago, and never answered if he thinks that a deficiency could attribute to anything else. -
Well, since I am not a Neocon, I didn't get all worked up. You KNOW that? Do you have a magic 8 ball? Powell would be good, as would McCain or Lieberman. I am actually quite interested to see who both sides put forth. I doubt Hillary will be #1. I could see her on the ticket as a #2 slot. Powell I don't think would run (shame). McCain has a good shot I think of getting the Republican nod. But above all there are tons of other folks that might be better than any of these.

Religiosity attributed to vitamin deficiency
DaVinci replied to narcimund's topic in Speakers Corner
Well thats because you have not discussed it, only made emotional arguments about how "people" are out to get you. I asked if this can be attributed to a person being religious, could it also be attributed to a bunch of other things. One of them was homosexuality, but there was a list of others. I choose homosexuality since it is a topic close to you. I was wondering if you would think logicly and answer, or spout emotional crap and claim to be persicuted. I got my answer. You only want to be able to attribute things that are in your favor to things that can be fixed. You would not even consider anything else could be attributed to a vitamin deficency, only the things you want to be attributed to it. So, I'll ask again (so you can ignore it again). If religion can be attributed to vitamin deficiency, what else do you think lack of proper vitamins could cause? Or would you even admit that other things could be attributed to it? Yes, it is a clue that I see how you wave being gay as a badge of honor. Your sig line reflects your desire to be seen as a martyr. I played on that to see if you would be willing to have an open mind. The answer was no. I do infact think that a good number of things could be attributed to vitamin deficiencies, up bringing, biological make up...ect. I am willing to grant that religion might be one of those. You are the one that is getting upset since I asked if your holy grail could be one of the things as well. -
I would go with, YES! I agree it would be a good idea. And I would be ok with that. It seems you would only be OK with Hillary, not Bush.

Religiosity attributed to vitamin deficiency

This is the kind of BS emotional response I expected. You post something to start drama, and then will not even discuss it. That is amazing...Why bother to post it, if you are unwilling to discuss it? -
Hate to break it to you, while I would not agree with your example, that IS how a Democracy works. I already have. If you choose to ignore them, that is not my fault. Simple, a rich guy realizes he has enough and decides to help others. Not a hard concept to grasp What can't you play nice? I am not attcaking you saying you are a Dem since you don't want to work for a living. You would rather have others work and you can just pop out kids and smoke dope. See how stupid both sound? Care to play nice, or act stupid?
-
If you want to get into basics; Dems like welfare to people, Repubs like welfare to companies. Companies make money and hire people. Welfare does not and will not make a Country stronger. While both groups have the same programs, the focus is what is important. Your chart does not answer any questions as to why, or how it would have been different with anyone else in charge. Your "overspending" includes 2 wars. And did you not read how the Government is elected by the people and the majority get what they want? And if that is to "crush" Unions then they get that. It is how a Democracy works. And when those compaines have to go bankrupt? Who wins then? And you can have happy employees and a strong company. Look at Southwest Airlines and compare them to GM. I am for people to have jobs to buy things from work. Not from Welfare. Pro-Union as you have stated is anti-company. If the company is dead, there is no reason to have a Union. I think that Repubs are for working people. They just choose to make it so they have the opportunity to have jobs, not just hand them things. The US was founded with Capitalism as a corner stone. While you cannot ignore the people who need help, how do you pay for it if everyone is on welfare?

Iteresting and well communicated answer. I am not sure I agree with it. We have had problems with Venezuela for years, but not so publicly. A good number of those years we had a different guy in the Casa de Blanco. Then when this group came in they were a little busy at first with the WTC2. Then after, or maybe as part of the rebuilding and defense, Georgie started listing bad guys. Chavez was always a bad guy and now he is getting attention. Iran is wanting to develop nuclear abilities and has state that they wish to "Wipe Israel off the face of the Earth". That makes them Evil in my book. Iraq was supporting terrorsim. They paid money to suicide bombers. That makes them evil in my book as well. You still have not shown how the one event of changing to the Euro has "made" these people/Countires evil. Changing to the Euro is smart move since it is the growing and stronger currency. Thats plain Ecomonics 101. The timing could be explained by a number of factors, some of which I have explained.
