I know how you feel!! I am in the same place as you. Made 5 tandems and 8 solo's and the last jump was a little harry! Long story short, on IV, (2nd jump) my legs went to my butt and off I went, (I am very small like 95lbs) when my AFF Instructor caught me, he had to maneuver around me and he did pull my ripcord! He said I was fighting him..I don't know why. But had he not been my size and extremely good I could have gotten hurt. He saved my butt! But now I have more fear than I had before. The door is my relief, once I'm in the door I will be alright and ready to go, but I just got to get myself back in the plane.

After being hit with a 30-06, very surprising to me that he came back at you at all. just the injury itself should have been enough to convince him. I have never seen one with that much aggression, unless it had rabies. Just a thought. Our dogs got a hold of one, and he played opossum. Everyone thought he was dead, went to get a shovel and he was gone. Glad I didn't grab him by the tale.

Gee that makes me feel a lot better. All your jumps and still have times that you can't sleep. I'm still at AFF Level III, didn't make it the first 2 times, and I feel like I know what my problems are and how to correct them. I have been practicing what my JM's told me to do, but for some reason I have been having cold feet! Guess it's just something I have to get over!! -
We actually get postcards in the mail when one moves to the neighborhood, it usually tells the age of the offender and a brief description of the offense and the age of the child involved. So it takes out alot of the 16-18 yr olds. You are right though if a 16 yr old girl is having sex with a boy that's 17 and he turns 18 while still in a relationship with the same girl, it would just be wrong to file such charges.

Yes, it's very shocking how many are out there, and those are only the ones that have registered and not yet moved. Hopefully people will start checking out who is in the neighborhood. I do not have a small child anymore, he is grown, but let me tell you, it's scary out there these days. And these are the people that have gotten caught. How many are out there that haven't gotten caught yet?

Nor do I. It's up to the legislature to fix things like this and make the decision about who should bear the suffering. Ultimately, the child does... But in this particular case, she is a doctor, as is he. I do not believe her story but regardless of what I believe, the whole case is a crock and it is totally a shame that more laws will have to be passed by the legislature for such crap. I did not read the whole article but if she is not praticing at this time, I would suggest she go back to work. She put enough thought into getting preg. by this guy, she should have put more thought into how she was going to support the child. She said he was so supportive and wanted her to get a divorce!!! Just doesn't add up. She needs to take responsibility in HER decision.

That is totally sick, and she but lots of forethought into what she was doing to this man who obviously didn't want a child, or for that matter sex with the women. That tells me he had oral sex for that reason. Or just needed a BJ. The man should not have to pay child support! And the lady should have to go for mental eval. What the hell ever happened to morals, honesty, and self respect?

I was pretty sure after the 1st tandem. I have been back 3 more times. Going this weekend to begin my AFF. It is all I think about. I have watched the sky for the last 2 days, thinking man it would be a great day to jump. Does that qualify me? -
I want to cure the USA's homeless problem. You think dipshit Bush can help me out? I bet 80 billion dollars could do wonders for some of the less fortunate in this country. Homelessness is a very big problem, but I bet you don't understand it nearly as well as I. But I'm not complaining. And I sure as hell don't expect Bush to give me a job. Hell if I wanted not to work, I could go on government assistance. What about all the people sucking up my SS, because they are just to damn lazy to work. You get out and get a friggin' job. Some people live that way because they want to, I for one did not. Most of the homeless have a choice. Let's get the foster children and the kids without family and homes into loving caring homes. Why didn't Clinton fix the homeless problem, or lets see what was that the co-president was suppose to fix, health care. Didn't happen! So to call Bush a dipshit must apply to all who have not fixed the problem.

Wasn't it started because of weapons of mass distruction? Oh I'm sorry, the war was started to bring demoncracy to Iraq. That's right. The only thing that matters is for the Bush supporters to constantly change their agenda so as to make themselves look better. Who gives a shit about the thousands of innocent people who died in this war. Just a question! What about the 10's or 100's of thousands of people that died at the hands of Hussien and his murdering, raping sons. Allowed to rape little children and kill at will. Sorry, I just don't get why people don't believe the Iraq people want to be free. Get over the WMD's don't think it couldn't have happened. And he was harboring terriosts in his country. Wheather or not Bush was right or wrong in your eyes, the Iraqi people wanted a free country! Now they have it. I don't understand why people think it is so easy to do, I have heard no one suggest a better plan other than for the US to run!!! I think not!

I have done the chocolate sauce thing before -- sounds fun and yummy (mmm) but let me tell you, its really messy and sticky. Plus dried chocolate sauce looks disgusting. I think whipped cream and strawberries is the way to go.

I haven't seen anyone post anything here, but on a promo for the Amazing Race's last show tonight, I caught some shots of people jumping tandem. Just curious if anyone here knows where they jumped. I hate waiting for the show!!

However, I do not plan to resume skydiving until I get the official green light from my neurologist...which he does expect will happen. Good luck to you. Chris Thanks Chris, I have been given the green light, but because my seizures were out of the clear blue, I still had some reservations, and still do but not to the extent that I had before. With my 4th tandem under my belt, and with no negative reaction, I am biting at the bit to go AFF. Now all I need is the time and money...lol... Good luck to you on getting back to the skies. It does sound like your recovery is coming along really well. The dazed feeling was so weird to me, the 1st one I had was at work. I can't remember hardly anything. But at 44, I'm just not near as gutsy as I use to be, and having a kid (even though he's 21) made me leary. So I personally wouldn't even have attempt to jump if my doctor had not given me the okay, and I think I will still do a couple more tandems before I do start with my AFF. Hope all goes well with you and they can get your meds working even better than they do now. But it sounds like you have a good start with it. Good luck with all.

I'm glad to hear that you are having good luck with your medicine. Do you have any feelings before you have a seizure? Because I had absolutely no warning whatsoever, was out totally for about 15min. The 2nd time I was alone and have no idea how long I was out or how long it lasted. I had an MRI almost a year ago and so I had my neurologist look back at it and see if there had been any problem. He told me he did not see any reason I shouldn't go ahead. So that was the only green light I needed. Although, I still want to take it slow. I've done 3 tandems and the TM's have done different things each time so I can see how I will react to them. So far so good. Hope to see ya in the skies. Lori

The link didn't work for me, but Dana was here in Waco a couple of months ago. I was asked to work that day. I would have said no, but they told me about Mr. Bowman and so I was fortunate enough to be able to hear him speak and see the video. Not many things make me cringe, but man that was so bad. He is an inspiration to so man people. -
Thank you, It is so wonderful to be here. Now people really think I have lost any mind I may have had...lol....but oh well, I'm glad to have the chance to get to know so many wonderful people.. (It will give me something to talk about and drive people crazy at the old age home when I get there!)
