What kind of plan does the DZ have to get people from AFF grad to A? I just followed the card and did all of the requirements. Not to be antagonistic... just curious. It isn't what it could be, or it what it should be, it is what it is.

I need some help. I am on jump 49 and I have been borrowing my boyfriend's jumpsuit and am looking to buy a new one. I have been to a bunch of websites, and read reviews for a number of suits here on dz.com, but I am still trying to figure out what to buy. I am between the Bev Comp. suit, the Tony Swoop suit, Zute Sute, and Merlin suit, but I am not sure if I am looking at the right ones, or if I am missing some. I think I am just overwhelmed that I can't see any of them in person to decide (it is hard to shop this way.) Anyone have any suggestions for a first RW suit? Any suits to avoid? Thanks for your help, and blue skies! -Lori It isn't what it could be, or it what it should be, it is what it is.

I too am a new jumper with only 50 or so jumps. I have about the same exit weight and I jump a Triathalon 175. In terms of being in Australia, I don't know about availablility of this canopy, but I love it! It is a 7 cell, ZP canopy, and it is responsive yet forgiving. I really thought I wanted a 9 cell until I flew this one. Just wanted to put my two cents in since I was in the same situation last fall. DZ.com was a great reference for pricing and availablity of containers and canopies. Good luck, and blue skies! It isn't what it could be, or it what it should be, it is what it is.

starting skydiving in the USA compared to FRANCE

My home DZ rents per day, not per jump. It is $30 a day and includes the last pack job. I thought that was pretty reasonable. Assuming you jump 5 times that day, the rental is $5 a jump and $5 for the pack job. Is this different than most places?? It isn't what it could be, or it what it should be, it is what it is. -
I don't know if you were concerned that you did not learn the right stuff from this "non rigger" or if you just want a brush up, but I learned from a friend, and it worked for me. My DZ wanted me to take a class, but I didn't feel like driving down there during the week just to pack. Once you start packing, if you are unsure, don't be afraid to ask questions. People at my home DZ have been very helpful when I have asked. Also, rock on to all those offering help... that is how it should be!! I have been jumping and hanging out at Greene county for a few years, and I must say it feels like home. Whether it is your first jump or 500th people are nice and willing to answer any questions you have. The staff is knowledgable and friendly. The fleet of aircrafts is great, usually having a CASA or Twin Otter flying. Large covered packing are is nice too. This DZ is highly recommended!

I just got back from FL I went to Space Center, and Lake Wales. Hung out at Deland a little, but didn't jump. Good weather and great skydives! It isn't what it could be, or it what it should be, it is what it is.

My first tandem was 4 years ago, and it was amazing. I was just reading a post where someone said they couldn't breathe when they jumped, and I have heard others say that too, but not me. I thouhg the air was fresh and cold. I remember thinking of how easy it was to breathe as if the air was forced in through my skin. Anyway, I did four tandems that summer, and then for a number of stupid reasons I didn't continue with my student training... until this past August. My AFF jumps were done in a few weekends, and boom, I was done. Now I have my A license, and I can't stop. I have close to 50 jumps now, and just got back from a trip to Florida. I have never spent so much money so willingly on something. I LOVE THIS SPORT! One of the most amazing things about this sport is how experienced jumpers give back to those starting out. There is nothing kinder than a D-licensed skydiver asking a new jumper to do a skydive. Thank you so much to every skydiver that reaches out to a new face and invites them outside to play.

My thick material is 100% cotton I got at JoAnn's Fabric. Just the typical cotton. It isn't what it could be, or it what it should be, it is what it is.

I recently made a pair of freefly pants. I used cotton material, and along with my pattern on the pants they turned out to be pretty thick and very warm. I want to make another pair using lighterweight material (like the kind my TonySuit is made out of). Anyone know where I can find this material?? Any help would be great! I reciently saw an older reserve that was sized by the top skin and it was a 220 sq. ft. Are most reserves and canopies sized by top skin or bottom skin?? Thanks! It isn't what it could be, or it what it should be, it is what it is.
