  1. Here is something that helped me... now, posters... this is what works for me, not the end all be all..... You can do anything you want to do before the jump to prepare. Try to study and learn as much as you can from your instructors before the jump. Then, go over what you are supposed to in your head... over and over if you have to. It is okay to be nervous at this point (I always am:) However, when the red light goes on, it is time to relax. It is jump run and whatever is going to happen, is going to happen, so it is okay to relax. There is nothing else you can do to prepare, so just think 'it is time for fun', and get out of the plane... there's nothin left to do but smile, smile, smile. It isn't what it could be, or it what it should be, it is what it is.
  2. Glad to hear SGC will be out in full force. Jerrod and I will be there, heard Kendal will be there too... Justi, you still goin? It isn't what it could be, or it what it should be, it is what it is.
  3. I'll be there... who would have guessed? Hope we put together some more hybrids... and a girly raft dive.. maybe Jim can come along too... It isn't what it could be, or it what it should be, it is what it is.
  4. I love NIN Perfect Drug. It isn't what it could be, or it what it should be, it is what it is.
  5. It was a great time! Thanks for letting us come play with you. Love you guys! -Sparkles It isn't what it could be, or it what it should be, it is what it is.
  6. Just wondering, do you know that the coach comes with you on a coach jump? They talk to you before hand, plan the jump, jump with you, video, and then review the jump with you. It is really a great way to learn a new skill. Good luck!! It isn't what it could be, or it what it should be, it is what it is.
  7. I know it seems like a lot can be learned from these forums, but listen to these guys... nothing can replace coaching. I have been working on my sitflying, and I gotta say, the experienced (1000 jumps plus) jumpers and coaches have helped me the most. I have read articles, looked at DZ.com, and the best things have been coaching and tunnel time to improve my sit. Good luck! And I couldn't tell much from that video... except that the ground was brown. It isn't what it could be, or it what it should be, it is what it is.

  9. ooooooo Sabre 2 150... you know it! Just give it to me Alana!!!!!!!! It isn't what it could be, or it what it should be, it is what it is.
  10. I'll be there Fri-Mon... but what else is new? I'll be at SGC, what a shocker. I gotta get in a raft this year... and another pirate ship horny gorilla , that was fun! Can't wait.... and what is this about surprises? I like surprises... It isn't what it could be, or it what it should be, it is what it is.
  11. Hmmm... maybe I should clarify.... I am already working manifest. I know that whatever they are paying is fair. I just thought the calculation for how they get to the number was interesting and wondered how others did it. I love Jim and Lee! They are awesome, and I know they take care of people that work there.... somehow I knew I would get made fun of for asking this.... I really gotta stop posting here. It isn't what it could be, or it what it should be, it is what it is.
  12. Just a question here.... what do people typically get paid for part time manifest? I really want to do it to offset the cost of jumping, but I was curious as to what other DZs pay. It isn't what it could be, or it what it should be, it is what it is.
  13. There are hundreds of patterns at the JoAnn fabrics around the corner. Granted, it is not a pattern for freefly pants, I think it was some kind of hip hugger, bar pants or something. I modified a little bit, and made them in a larger size, used the fabric I wanted, and designed a crazy bling design, and now I have some pants. 14. Yeah, like my form? Wish I could have kept the same form as I had in the tunnel!! I knew I couldn't get away with using the word perfect.... hell I don't know that I have ever done anything perfectly. The point was, that it helped me figure out the right form, and then I took it from there. Without someone standing in front of me to correct my form.... Blue ones. It isn't what it could be, or it what it should be, it is what it is.
  15. I didn't find that to be the case in the tunnel at all. Any small movement had a larger reaction, so it limited my small movements creating the proper sit fly form. The coach that worked with me walked me throught the steps of learning, and I did not find that I was backsliding, or anything like that. I had perfect form (because otherwise, you can't really fly in the tunnel.) Then once I had the form figured out I went in the sky and explored, and backslid, and orbited and all those good things you get to go through when you are learning. It isn't what it could be, or it what it should be, it is what it is.
  16. I was in your spot a year ago. I learned in the tunnel. It was the absolute best place to learn! If you can't make it there, then do just what these others have said. Back fly, and get some coaching. I have also done a lot of belly jumps in there, and I think I am learning FF faster because of it. Good luck! It isn't what it could be, or it what it should be, it is what it is.
  17. I have made two pairs and I gotta say, buying a pattern from a fabric store is the way to go. The patterns go on sale all the time, and usually cost around $1. There is a place online that has the Supplex fabric that a lot of suits are made out of, and I was actually able to make a nice pair of pants. In terms of buying a suit. I would go with Freak N Suits. They aren't the top of the line, but they are inexpensive, look great and are very durable. The people there are awesome, and I even got my suit quickly. Custom design and only cost around $200. It also cleans up well. I have had a few crashes, and it still looks new. Just don't get any white on the suit or pants. Also, like someone else said, get a longer shirt. I can keep a shirt tucked into gym shorts if it is long enough. Peas, Lori It isn't what it could be, or it what it should be, it is what it is.
  18. I "stole" my first helmet (a protec) from my boyfriend and painted it so it didn't look like puke anymore. I knew I would have it just until I found a replacement. Unfortunately, that took a while. I found that with the protec, my audible was not loud enough since the helmet wasn't keeping the noise out and it was mounted on the outside of the helmet. Tried on just about every helmet I could find at a number of DZs and WFFC and decided on a Cookie Composites. I just got it and I hope it feels as comfy in the sky as it does in my living room. Blue ones, and good luck! It isn't what it could be, or it what it should be, it is what it is.
  19. Is that per day or for the whole weekend? I couldn't find the event on their website. It isn't what it could be, or it what it should be, it is what it is.
  20. I live in Ohio and want to drive somewhere to jump for my birthday in the middle of January. Any thoughts on where to go that would be closeish enough to drive, yet warm, and people will be jumping? Thanks! It isn't what it could be, or it what it should be, it is what it is.
  21. I have traveled thrice with my rig and I haven't had any troubles. Columbus, OH to Orlando, Columbus to LA and Columbus to Hawaii. I always pack my rig in a carry on rolly suitcase to protect it, and I have only been asked to take it out once and that was in Columbus and they loved it. With as many bags as the airline "misplaces" I know I would be too nervous to check a rig... but that is just me. Have fun! It isn't what it could be, or it what it should be, it is what it is.
  22. I know it is cool to say, "get right back at it" and with some things that is cool. The second time I was white water kayaking and after I almost died, had I not gotten back in the boat, I never would have. That beeing said, there should be a moment when ones says, "enough is enough." There is a difference between dumb luck and making dumb choices. Not so say you are dumb . At some point the DZ isn't very safe, and I would have been very frightened. I know everytime I jump I am trusting that my DZ is putting me in the sky in safe conditions... but that doesn't mean I don't look up at the sky. It isn't what it could be, or it what it should be, it is what it is.
  23. At Dillingham Air Field right next to the other place. Very friendly people at this DZ. Few spots for fun jumpers, lots of tandems. Absolutly beautiful to jump on the north shore of Ouahu! I was nervous about jumping so close to the ocean, and high winds, but they gave a great breifing and it turned out to be nothing to worry about! Was definatly a short day ending before noon both days we were there,so get there early.
  24. Everyone at this DZ was friendly, from the staff to the fun jumpers. These people know how to run a DZ. Loved the TV with all the people on the load listed on it. Great party by the bonfire and trailers, and plenty of extra places to say in people's trailers on a cold night. Loved it and will be back plenty of times next year!
  25. I hope to get some jumps in on Saturday, but don't know if I can stay for the party.... bummer. It isn't what it could be, or it what it should be, it is what it is.
