Point is that Gore lost and is now considered damaged goods. He would never be able to beat George Bush a second time around - particularly as he has pretty much gone off the deep end in the past year, ranting and raving about how poorly Bush has done. While he may make some points during his speeches (he just did one today in DC at Georgetown University), his words carry little weight as he is seem more as bitter about losing to Bush n 2000. Gore should just stay quiet and go away. He is no Clinton (as far as getting the base of the Democratic party energized)

i totally agree with you here and think you are doing the right thing. IF you want something more than just a fling then you should wait and just be her friend. If she is going to break up with her boyfriend, then you need to give her time to get used to being on her own and move forward. You don't want to be rebound guy. I have been on both sides -- once I was the girl who broke up with my boyfriend to be with another guy -- but realized a month into it that I wasn't fully emotionally separated yet and ended up breaking up with the new guy. Recently I got involved with someone who is just single -- and its a nightmare because he is so not ready for a new relationship no matter what he says...and boy, does it hurt.

i saw it this weekend. I thought it was pretty good and would recommend seeing it if you want to just have a good time. The entire audience was laughing. Athough a ffew times I was totally grossed out in spite of it just being puppets (i.e. the vomit scene.) The puppet sex was HILARIOUS!!!! Anyway, my favorite was the music lyrics. I kept singing the song "I'm Lonely" (or Wonwey as it sounded) and the America song.

whats wrong with letting a guy "do his thing" on your face? Seriously, what "kind of girl" are you thinking would allow a guy to do that (or boyfriend/husband/lover)?

its just too messy to kill someone... guess I am just lazy Seriously, I couldn't live with myself. Unless it was for revenge for something awful that a person did to my family (like kill/ rape them). Even then I am sure I would be an emotional wreck knowing what i did.

if you are talkling about Alan Keyes and his comments... well, no one should even acknowledge him, especially the presidential candidates. He is a total wacko close-minded candidate who has absolutely no chance of winning. Why waste their time making an issue of what Keyes says when they don't like the issue to begin with and he is such a blight on the compassionate conservates that Bush/Cheney want to be recognized as? Anyway, its politics. It doesn't make sense and both sides are hypocritical. Thats the name of the game.

If OBL was caught and then to be executed -- with a knife, do you think that it would raise the issue of the death penalty or would opponents of the death penalty stay silent? For those of you who are against the death penalty, does it apply across the board, even to someone like OBL?

He wasn't making a statement about her that is anything other than fact. If I said "your daughter is a female" are you going to kick my ass? The only way this could be viewed as an insult is if you view being a lesbian as something bad. And I'll take a page from Kerry and go out on a limb and say that "Dick Cheney's daugher, a lesbian, probably wouldn't feel that way." yes, but one's sexuality is considered to be something private still in our society. There is nothing wrong with it but you don't use another person to make your point (which is what Kerry did). Kerry could make his point without getting personal. And as much as we don't want it to be, it is a sensitive issue still - thats why it IS an issue. It takes a lot for someone who is gay to come out and for family members to understand and accept.

Cheney never opened up this issue to the debates. In fact, he rarely brings her into the issue. Thats his personal life and his daughter's personal life. I am sorry, but Cheney's daughter's sexuality should not be discussed and exploited as thats her personal life. The fact is that Kerry --and Edwards -- could have made the points they were making without bringing up Cheney's daughter. Its probably hard enough for her to be a lesbian and deal with the negativity from others. You know, you can be supportive and loving towards individuals who are gay, without believing that the federal government should get involved. Thats where Cheney is.

i really have enjoyed the show so far, although I have only seen it a few times. I think Dennis Leary is great as the main character -- and its funny, touching, serious all in one. I am looking forward to it next season. My problem is I never know when it is on

I think you should tell him that you are cleaning up your finances and want to get your finances in order and ask him if he could pay you back his outstanding debt. And if he doesn't have all the money at that time, to set up a series of payments. Overall, I don't think its a good idea to lend money to friends because if the other person doesn't pay you back, it creates awkwardness and friction. Only if you know you can keep the two separate should you do it. On the other hand, you want to help out people you care about so it hard to not help them out. I think its best to look at each individual and see how responsible they are, and how considerate they are of other people in general. One friend I lent money to sent me a check the very next day because she knows that I did her a favor and didn't want to put me in the awkward position of asking again and again. However another friend I have lent money to in the past never paid me back, although I kept asking and asking her. And it put a serious rift between us. You should never have to be put in the awkward position of having to ask -- they should be responsible and thoughtful enough to do evereyting they can to pay you back, or at least tell you when they can. Just my two cents.

No -- it will just create drama and bad feelings. Plus why on earth is her BEST FRIEND hooking up with her BEST FRIEND's ex? There are certain unwritten rules in womens' worlds.. and that is you don't date your friend's ex -- at a minimum until there is nothing between the two. But more likely never unless you two are meant to be together forever and just can't live without the other. there are plenty of other women in this world so don't go creating drama is my recommendation.

Also if you like classics, Edith Wharton books are wonderful. She is a feminist before her time and her stories are often about the constraints of society for women and how they fit it/don't fit in. Excellent.

Its been around for awhile but Memoirs of Ageisha is a wonderful book.

what a great -- albeit totally confusing movie. Typical David Lynch movie. After my girlfriend and I watched it, we went to websites to better understand what happened -- well needless to say, it meant to be twisted and bizarre. But I really thought it was enthralling. On another note, -- its the only movie that has made me consider being with another woman. The sex scene between Naomi Watt' character and the other women was so amazing and sensual. Whew!!

God rest his soul. He seemed like a genuinely good man. I also think so highly of his wife -- their relationship appeared to be a true example of what marriage represents -- through better or worse. She showed such dedication to him and love for him.
