  4. If you stated all the facts, what they did to you is illegal. Aviation is very, very, very small though and be careful when You pick your battles. ie is the weeks pay worth the risk of being perceived as PITA or getting a bad report from this boss? We had a few ppl that didn't get paid in the aftermath of 9/11 (I work for a regional airline) one guy who was still on probation lost his job for calling and yelling at our chief-pilot. I don't think what they did t you is legal or fair, but it doesn't mean that you should sink to their level and doing things out of revenge or other... my 10cents... M Ingen minns en fegis!

  12. The only reason I could think of not to buy the Zenitar is that is doesn't autofocus and can't auto-aperature. It seems kind of odd to put a manual lens on a camera with such great automated features, but if it's skydiving specific, it seems like a terrific bargain. I never shoot using Autofocus, not on my film camera, not on my DV or my Digital. For a lot of reasons. I wish the aparature was automatic but still some of my best shots have been taken with fixed f-stop, I took a bunch of really cool pictures with f22 and slower shutter speed..... Besides I am not a gear geek when it comes to my camera equipment I want good quality, good value and ruggedness, all the automatic stuff takes some away from the work I like to put in.... Besides I am around so much automation at work that I enjoy doing things manually and see how good my "feel" is for certain shots.... Buy a Zenitar Save 350 bucks(buy jumptickets for the money) go out and practice and you will find that You will be able to take really nice shots with less expensive equipment.... 13. I did have a minolta before, but decided to get a Digital Rebel The Zenitar lens I got from Kiev camera I think e-mail me and I will look it up when I get home. There are different mounts and adapters for the Zenitar it comes with a M42 standard I beleive and You can put an adapter on it to make it fit the EOS Or you can get it with an EOS fitting (which I think is the batter way to go!) 14. " but I sell a 113 as a 113. " JP, So I need a new rig and I want to downsize my reserve and main I'd like a PD113 or a Microraven 120 and a velocity 96, should I get the PD or the Microraven? Probably the raven right since it is bigger? What do You think? Ingen minns en fegis!
  15. I just got my Deg Reb and would like some setup advice. Are you going manual with your settings? Do you use AF or pre set focal length? This Zenitar lens is fully manual, you can set the aperture and let the camera select the shutterspeed, but I didn't like the results, most pictures came out ok, but some of the ones from above had a shutter speed of 1/2000 and was a little dark. So I go fully manual. Inside the hangar and the plane I shoot in AV mode though to let the camera pick a slower shutterspeed where there is less light available. my focus is set between the 1.2 and 0.6 mark. 18. I got myself a Zenitar 16mm for my Digital rebel, pretty happy with the results. I shot these at ISO100 1/500 f8 I have been trying some other settings too and I might go with ISO 100 or perhaps 200 1/400 or 1/320 and f11 or so. paid 155 bucks with shipping. Beats 500 for Sigma or Tokina. Sorry about the small size, I put them in my gallery too they are a little bigger there I think. Mathias Ingen minns en fegis!
  19. JP I think basically You did the same mistake as your friend, You got in over your head and wasn't lucky enough to walk away from it. I'm defenitely not the best example myself, but I get lucky and drink lots of milk so my bones have held up. What I have come to understand though is that certain people will do whatever the want no matter how much You try to steer the in the right direction, based on that I just don't care to much to help everybody out (luckily Bonnie thinks differently and is willing to help with even the most hopeless cases). I just try to help the ones that I like, i.e the ones that have good attitudes and are willing to learn. I also think as a beginner you can get any advice you want, if you just ask enough people. No matter how much advice or training You get it is always better to be lucky than good, good people gets hurt all the time but the lucky ones prevail. Lots of rambling from a tired swede after a 16hour day, JP(Deuce) it wasn't a curse, it was puke on your windshield, thanks for the blood Jett is scarred forever. M Ingen minns en fegis!
