Two DZ's close by, SDO & Eagle Creek. From the looks of your profile, you might prefer SDO as Ralph is not too hip on swooping. . . It is the place to go if you want gear though.

Just wondering. . . Are you doing anything close to what you wanted to do for a job when you were little? What did you want to be and what are you doing currently? Are you on the path to get there or have your ideas changed? I'm on a tangent of the path I had chosen in college, but am starting to wonder my end goal is what I really want -- it'd be a much bigger time sacrifice than I'd imagined (and I like being in control of my time). _____________ PMS #394

I was just told I do the same thing this weekend at Chick's Rock. I guess that happens when you highjump cometetively for 11 years. . . At any rate, let me know how the tunnel helps. . . _____________ PMS #394

I went into the gas station the other day and asked for five dollars worth of gas. The clerk farted and gave me a receipt. _____________ PMS #394

CHICKS ROCK BOOGIE 2005, SKYDIVE ELSINORE!
seejanefall replied to curtismelaniej's topic in Events & Places to Jump
I will be there with my husband Chad & two jumpers from Creswell who've been there in years past -- Tara and Kristin. I'm way excited to be able to jump with more than two or three other girls. . . -

I've lost weight in part because of skydiving. I bought a scale in March of 2004 -- just before my broken ankle was healed enough to begin jumping again. I hadn't known my weight in about 7 years. It was a shock to see 172 on the scale. I was already doing half assed workouts, but really decided to make the commitment to increase my activity & watch what I eat. It has been slow and steady, but I have lost a total of about 28 pounds & feel sooooo much better. More energy. I don't feel as self conscious in my jumpsuit. I feel I can maneuver better. Etc. Etc. It really was a lifestyle change, and not living with blinders on. _____________ PMS #394

You'd be suprised. I've run into a handful of people who reply they skydive too when I've mentioned skydiving, only to find out they've only done one tandem and are not going to start a student progression! _____________ PMS #394

That's a good sign, I'm glad he's not a one tandem wonder. _____________ PMS #394

Is Boondock Saints a Texas thing? The only other person I've heard about this movie from is another skydiver orignally from Temple. I lived in Austin for a few years & never heard about it. How'd you get into it? I think it'll be interesting to see if this guy is licensed or if he's just done a tandem. I guess we'll see, or not, if they just added it to have an air of mystique. _____________ PMS #394

*** Instead of 'throw' it out... how about 'whip' it out? has a better ring to it...and it's original! "When in doubt, whip it out" happens to be a sticker in one of our jump planes at Skydive Eagle Creek.

I'm another vote for FlexZ's. They're the only ones I've not been worried about my contacts with & I've tried about 4 other styles. Helps that they're only about $12 a pair. _____________ PMS #394

My sister in law had hair that short when she got married. She did these mini french twists from her forehead back to where you'd stop a headband, kinda mini-cornrow-ish as far as splitting the hair. She pinned it back with sparkly clips (elegant ones, not cheesy ones). I guess she'd seen it in the movie Sliding Doors. PM me if my explaination is too fuzzy.

QuoteI couldn't help but think of Voltron when I read this though - that would be a cool movie When I was five I named my first goldfish Voltron! I loved that cartoon. _____________ PMS #394

Just show up there alone... Spend 10 minutes in the "beg and plead" section, stop by the "throw a tantrum and embarrass you to death" section, then move on to the "whine until you cave in" section and you'll be celibate for months Exactly. . .!!! My husband and I went with my friend and her two kids (5 and 8). I truly wanted to hide. On top of the too narrow aisles, it's complete chaos navigating the store!! I was completely wiped after 20 minutes. And we weren't sure about having kids prior to this incident. . . _____________ PMS #394

I don't have cable either. . . just too cheap to want to pay for it. . . (and the fact that my husband and I sit on our butts enough with only 6 channels) I do love that show though. _____________ PMS #394

Point taken. Edited to add: This forum is for women, the header states that it is "A place for women to share their experiences". This is an experience I had today & didn't realized I'd tread on any feet. _____________ PMS #394
