That is just fabulous. Illinois is a funny state. It's two very separate populations. The urban is very urban and the rural is very rural. Ted Nugent has a training camp for kids there. And Chicago is murder city. Kirk said what he said knowing full well who her father is. Stuff like that is as low as you can go openly. Right up to the line, but in the year of Trump not quite over it. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.

Jury acquits leaders of Oregon standoff of federal charges
gowlerk replied to rushmc's topic in Speakers Corner
Other stories have stated all the defendants in this trial were acquitted. Both sides were surprised by this. It's simply a case of a jury refusing to convict. It does not make new law or set any kind of precedent. But it may encourage others to think they can do similar things with impunity. They had it. But it was gone a minute later for some reason. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free. -
I have to laugh. This is not really a flying question, it's a medical question. He is your patient? You are probably a better judge of this than anyone here! Go for it. Worst that can happen is you both go out in a blaze of glory. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.

Jury acquits leaders of Oregon standoff of federal charges

In other news, there seems to be some arrests in South Dakota. I wonder how those people will do at trial. The other trial is actually in Nevada. You often seem to have a hard time with simple facts, but I'm here to help. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free. -
Ya could just cheat a little and put a slider on it. Or would that spoil the fun? Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.

Militia takes over Malheur National Wildlife Refuge headquarters

I don't get it. The jury refused to convict them? What a great message to send. Look out now, the other shoe will soon fall. (heavy on shoe metaphors here) Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free. -
Who would issue this statement? Usually the candidate speaks for the party. There is no other spokesperson. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.

I heard an interview with one today, on NPR. She said she was voting for Trump because "I like what he stands for". A Vermonter. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.

There is a deep meanness on the right. They can not be civil, it's against all Breitbart has taught them. They hate to lose and they are losing badly. The temper tantrums are just starting. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.

So, either or both major parties could just decide to skip the primary system altogether and choose their nominee in another fashion. Like the Greens and Libertarians already do. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.

Unfortunately, as I've said in this forum several times before, this requires a Constitutional Amendment. As much as I'd love to see it happen, I don't see it happening in my lifetime. I'm not sure how the primary election system evolved. But I'm pretty sure the constitution does not cover it. From out here where I sit it seems to be the way parties select nominees. If there were a strong 3rd party would they have to get in the game? I think primaries are completely optional and any party could opt out and use a different way to select the nominee. No? New shocking video surfaces of Trump groping young girls

Simple. The judge, along with the rest of the victim's family values keeping the patriarch of the family in place over punishing him. What's hard to understand? Everyone involved probably thinks it is at least partly the victim's fault for being just so darn cute and easy to seduce. According to the judge, one factor in his determination was that the victim didn't testify (or an advocate for the victim). So the victim's mother and grandmother chose to advocate for the "welfare" of the two boys over standing up for their daughter/granddaughter. WTF?? We're putting the onus on a 12-year-old (possibly 13 by this time) girl to get up in front of all the adults who have proven they are not on her side and testify?? There should be a petition to remove the girl from that home, since it's obvious she isn't safe there. It is quite possible, even likely, that the reason she did not testify is pressure from her family. The possibility of a 100 year sentence would put her under an enormous burden. I'm going to get hate mail for this, but here goes. Many, possibly most families in this situation would beg for mercy and chose forgiveness over a 100 year sentence with a minimum of 25 years served. That penalty is excessive, and despite his crime he is a loved part of the family. On the other hand, the 60 days is completely inadequate. That is why this story is making international news. The fault lies not only with the judge, but with the rigid system imposed on him. There is plenty of room for disagreement on the appropriate sentence, but in my mind something in the range of 8 to 10 years with at least 5 served would be correct. Punishment and deterrence must both be part of sentencing. The sentence given does not do either of these principles justice. They all agree that it's wrong, but excusable, because God made men that way and sometimes they slip. And the judge is about to retire anyway. Otherwise he would never have had the guts. Absolutely true. There is a long tradition of men in power who treat women much as Trump does. But they never made the mistake of bragging about it. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.

My hope is that Ron comes here as a place to let out some of his more evil feelings. And that he actually manages to treat his neighbours with courtesy in real life. Even when he bumps into the occasional dark skinned person up in the hills. But I do believe that his fear and possibly even hatred of black urban culture is real.
