    Pictures would be a big help. I know of one manufacturer who makes toggles with tips that are four layers thick of type 4 instead of the usual 3 layers. I've known them to hang on to the cat eye and not let go. I don't recall anything at the bottom like you are talking about.

    I will grant your point in that both groups did things that we all should abhor. When I look at these things the lesson I take is not that Japanese, or Germans, or Belgians for that matter are capable of great violence. What it teaches me is that people can be taught to believe that outsiders are less than human and that doing violence to them can be justified. That means all people are capable of it. And that is why Trump's willingness to pander to groups on the hate spectrum is troubling to me. It's not so much that Trump's supporters are hateful. Only a small percentage of them are. But all of them seem to be just fine overlooking and enabling his tacit support of white supremacy groups. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. The difference between the effort the Nazis made to exterminate the Jewish people and the atrocities committed by the Japanese is the motivation. Get it yet? One was an effort to win at all costs.     You may have something there. Japanese culture is one of the most racist in the world. But they did not have a "final solution". That was a special thing only the Nazi's under Hitler had. The main lesson of WW2 atrocities is that people are capable of denying the humanity of others. And then using that lack of humanity to justify killing them. Almost always to take what they have for themselves. This was what happened in the USA with the "Trail of Tears", and westward expansion. There are no successful cultures who did not kill to become successful.
