I was thinking the same as you. But his profile says he has 400 jumps..... I guess he's just unsure about TX weather.
-
You may be able to find a DZ that has less windy people at it. But that will have no effect on the weather. Tornadoes when they happen are part of storm systems and are not the result of prevailing winds.

At least one manufacturer is using magnets for a tailgate, so it's possible to have magnets on the canopy. I'm curious how using magnets for slider control would work, though. How would you ensure only particular pairs of magnets stuck together, especially since in the course of packing they could reorient, rotate, or flip? For example, how would you keep slider magnets from sticking to other slider magnets? --Mark Those are good questions. And I had not thought of that problem. Yes, magnets could be an answer. Especially if they were in pairs with magnets both on the slider and on the stops. That way you could use the polarity of the magnets to be sure the slider was held in the correct Orientation.

Rouge openings like this can only happen it the slider fails to do it's job. It would probably be better and simpler to focus on finding ways of ensuring that sliders stay all the way up until line stretch.

Are you new? To what? Dealing with weather.....usually outside of SC. Rookies complain about weather. Experienced skydivers generally let it slide like water off a duck's back. Usually, yes, but one thing that hasn't changed in 40 years is the best way to guarantee rain. Plan on meeting up with old friends that you haven't seen for years for some catching up. Edit: Now we get to spend the day on the porch telling each other the same stories and jokes that we've told each other hundreds of times before. We *NEED* altitude. Our DZ brought in a Flight-1 course conductor for the 201 and 202 this weekend. It's been a 200 ft ceiling for the last 48 hours. It's expected to clear Sunday morning. With 30 mph winds. I went home. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.

I'm pretty sure Trump is far more skilled at parting people from their money than Obama will ever be. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.

Although the article does not say so, it is also required to declare cash in excess of $10,000 entering the US as well as leaving. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.

I could be wrong, but I don't think the US Constitution covers property rights. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.

How often do you need to replace your double wrapped rubber bands?
gowlerk replied to JTH's topic in Gear and Rigging
That doesn't differ from rubber bands. I differs a lot from rubber bands. Bungee cord loses it's stretch and grip long before the nylon sheath will break. And the breaking strength of that sheath is more than enough to resist the pulling power of a P/C. Rubber bands just break. -
You're very welcome Marc. I do it just for you. Everything I post here is for your amusement. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.

it You been a chicken little cheerleader on this site many times. It won't mean anything again despite your warmest hopes! Funny, Yoda Rush being cryptic! Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.

The Canada-US free trade agreement in 1988 gave the US first dibs on Canadian oil supplies. That was a big deal at the time and Canada played that card for all it could. At the present time it's not so vital to US interests. That is going to make a difference in negotiations over a new NAFTA agreement. How often do you need to replace your double wrapped rubber bands?
gowlerk replied to JTH's topic in Gear and Rigging
Oh, they'll work just fine. Until they don't. Like when they wear out and you don't replace them. Or, as Westerly pointed out, you need one to break for some reason. -
That FB clip was posted by the MARS Special Operations Group. The main point is we do not like Obama or his former administration. We share various forms of entertaining news to support our emotions. Attached is another one. Anger takes many forms of expression. It is a tactic you people, liberals, use often. Then get your nickers in a swivet when it comes back to you. We are still in a culture war with plenty of insanity on both sides. This thread has drifted based on my one comment that President Trump's tweet made sense to me, creating an intolerable position for y'all to handle. That fact that I understand is something you people cannot understand. I hear ya Ron. Haters gotta hate. And no one hates quite like religious fanatics. Oh, I've not seen one of those yet. What a bad idea. -

gowlerk replied to JTH's topic in Gear and Rigging
Yeah, the double wrapping makes them very effective. But it causes them to tighten around the lines as they stretch before they release. That is both why double wrap works so well and why they don't last very long when you do it. -

Rubber bands have always been expendable parts. They don't last long, especially in the closing stow position. Your experience is normal and you can expect it to continue. -
No, but Ron does. Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.

If FOX is abandoning Trump like that it can only that they have decided he is no longer larger than the R party. That he is becoming too much of an albatross around the neck of conservatism. There will likely be a viscous nomination fight if he doesn't drop out of the 2020 race. He can probably win that fight, but the cost will be very high. Women accuse Morgan Freeman of inappropriate behavior, harassment
gowlerk replied to airdvr's topic in Speakers Corner
There were 12 jury members seven men and 5 women 2 of them were black, the rest white. They all heard the evidence and returned an unanimous verdict. The words of one of those jurors quoted in a newspaper may be worrisome to you, but his opinion is not the same as 12 people's opinion. Then perhaps you could provide a bona fide source that backs up your ridiculous claim? Snopes is a non partisan site that specializes in checking the truth or untruth of claims being made on the internet. Where did your info come from? I have checked and I can not find a single site that says the lie is a truth. But what the hell, you have a proven history of clinging to lies. Your whole way of life is a series of lies and denial.
