  1. As a atheist I do not believe in salvation. Or an afterlife. And I also would not capitalize atheist. FWIW
  2. These events are driving up the price of oil and with it the Canadian dollar. For once I'm hoping the CAD rise is only temporary.
  3. Sure. And just what is that in your view?
  4. So I Googled that. And what do you know? It’s about right. Turning in circles before lying down is an act of self-preservation in that the dog may innately know that he needs to position himself in a certain way to ward off an attack in the wild. ... So, like their ancestors, our dogs turn around a few times before lying down.
  5. Not sure why either of you would argue with Ron over his particular theology. Other than that fact that he is the most annoying poster in the way he just keeps putting it out there and after a while it just starts to stink like a putrid cesspool. All religions are equally unbelievable. What is the point of disputing this one?
  6. Mango is a colour, in this usage. It does not dehumanize, it mocks. There is a difference. Calling someone a turtle? Now that's dehumanizing!
  7. Well here, just take a look at this awesome website full of truthiness. It will ease any doubts you have about how D senators were bribed to make the deal happen.! https://rightedition.com/2020/01/05/democrat-senators-took-money-from-iran-lobby-before-vote-on-obamas-nuke-deal/
  8. It's a way of life. Teach 'em young....or just give them the toys and see what happens, https://www.12newsnow.com/article/news/local/teenager-accidentally-shot-in-face-in-vidor/502-9b59d353-3c48-4867-a826-02733dd7b3cd
  9. Your killing machine....don't leave home without it! https://www.kmov.com/news/employee-accidentally-shoots-kills-himself-at-restaurant-on-washington-ave/article_6e9af9f8-3015-11ea-b369-6b5beffb5658.html Self inflicted and accidental? https://www.14news.com/2020/01/05/dispatch-police-called-sunburst-blvd-after-reported-shooting/
  10. They are in the throes of a dilemma. They struggle with the fact that climate warming would seem to be affecting them more than most people. But they make a huge part of their living mining and shipping coal to China. It's a bit of an "inconvenient truth".
  11. I'm 62 and I have absolutely no patience with people of any age who criticize younger generations as a group. As far as I'm concerned younger people are smarter and have better tools to meet more challenges than I ever did.
  12. Now, no one said anything about a legal requirement. It is an industry standard. I'm not sure why you are pressing this. It's a non-issue.
  13. She is an heiress. She is the youngest of nine children born to publishing tycoon and fraudster Robert Maxwell and socialite Elisabeth Maxwell. Not as rich as I first thought, but still said to have about 10 million.
  14. I guess my edit was not in time. It turns out that she is probably a billionaire and can pay for both hiding and protection.
  15. "She’s not under the protection of any government. She’s on her own." And if any of this is true, who is paying for all this protection? Edit.......Never mind, research tells me that she should be able to afford it.
  16. Probably DC pizza restaurant investors.
  17. Not to worry. When the Trumpian war starts and the draft begins Canada will still be here to offer refuge to those fleeing from "Selective Service". Just like last time. You're welcome.
  18. Or to be a refugee desperately trying to get a family to a safe place from a land of conflict, hunger, and hopelessness. Only to be turned away from safety because "we just don't have room for you".
  19. I think (or I hope) those fears are overblown. Any problems they could cause would be short term. The big danger is another miscalculation by the US in the event of the inevitable Iranian strike. If they overreact (again) it could draw the Russians in. World War III is always a worry.
  20. That's mostly because we see your position as basically "America right or wrong".
  21. 36 hours or so after the assassination I am noticing a distinct lack of supportive messaging from the R party Senators, aside from Moscow Mitch. I'm sure many of them are pissed off over the lack of notification as Trump huddled in Mara-largo with a decidedly less than A team group of advisors and made a hasty decision. I would guess most of them are sniffing the air and huddling to get more information on just WTF Donny was thinking. It's also possible that the orange one is becoming more unhinged than usual and that his administration is getting spooked by his increasingly erratic behavior. Tomorrow is Sunday. If there are not a large group of heavy weight pols making the rounds of the talk shows to support this move I'm going to start thinking some are getting cold feet. I've always said that this job is far beyond his ability and that he will crack from the pressure. This large error may be the beginning of his undoing.
