If you can find it, FOLEX is about as miraculous a cleaning solution as there is. Having a white sofa and an oatmeal carpet, three cats, and me being a klutz, I swear by it. It's fairly inexpensive, and gets pet accidents, knife accidents, and wine/food accidents very well. Try your local supermarket, with the cleaning supplies (like where they keep the carpet shampoo). I buy about one bottle every two years, and it's saved clothes, drapes, carpets, and sofa cushions. And keep the kitties seperate until they can play nice together. And you might want to watch the cats for infection - cats' claws tend to be, well, nasty and germy....and infection can be easily spread through cat scratches... Yes, now....at the time, I was in serious trouble. My parents didn't seem to find it quite as funny as the ambulance guys or the neighborhood did.... I remember trying to explain to Dad how it happened. He kept asking me why I didn't unlock the door and come get him. "Because it was hot, Daddy, and I'm supposed to leave the burning building, they said so at school". Sigh. First lesson in what you're taught in school is not necessarily the right response at home.

I only wish the debt was because of skydiving. The debt load is related to having a tumor removed from my eye while uninsured, in the middle of the sales season (I'm a realtor) which took me out of circulation for a while, etc. Tough year coming on the heels of another bad year. I lit the bathroom on fire once. We had one of those open flame heaters, and at seven years old, I got out of the bath, wrapped myself in a towel, and I guess I stood too close to the heater 'cause I caught the towel on fire...it was smoking, so, instead of getting my parents, I, well, hung it back on the door. The door was locked. The door, of course, was wood. Which of course was varnished. Which of course melted. And started to shoot flames up the door. Which, of course, scared me. So instead of getting my parents, I climbed out the bathroom window stark nekkid, leaving the bathroom door locked, and went to get my brother. Who was, of course, inside the house. And the back door was locked. And of course brother and Mom and Dad were too busy putting out the burning bathroom door to come let my nekkid butt back into the house. So I walked around to the front door, where I then met the firemen, who didn't let me go back into the house, but instead inspected me for burns. In the street in front of the house. With the ambulance guys laughing 'cause I told them what had happened. And they gave me a blanket to wear around my shoulders until I could go back inside. Of course the neighborhood turned out to watch the house burn down, and instead, got an eyeful of a nekkid 7 year old arsonist... We got a new heater, and a new door. And new towels. Yep, 'twas, at that! But I spent the 15 for the gifts anyway, and just gave them on my own. But still...and the worst part was I couldn't even go to the "boss" with it, because one of the requests was for his gift, and I didn't want him knowing about it. You know what I mean? Sigh. Dewd....at least you got something. I, otoh, didn't. Instead, I was hit up three times for cash for gifts for office staff. Now, kewlio, I'll give what I can. And I always also write a "thank you for your work - you rawk" note, just because. But this year has been harsh financially for me. I could only give 15 per request...and even that means credit card grocery shopping. And know what? I was told it's a minimum of $30 per request...and my $$ was rejected. So I didn't get to participate in the gifts from the office, nor sign the card that attends the gift. What's with that?????????? So I bought them stuff instead. My $$ not good enough? KMA! Phatcat, you said it: it sucks ass....and tends to frighten my s/o if I'm in a relationship at the time (this happened a lot when I was married. But waking up to him was just a continuation of the nightmare! LOL). I generally don't wake up screaming. Sobbing and moaning and trying to catch my breath. But I've learned that when that happens, I might as well get up because there'll be no more sleep that night for me. For all you who've pm'd me and made suggestions, I really appreciate it. I think Jess has a great point. It sort of falls along the line of being taught to look for the cutaway and reserve, and not being able to see it because of breast blockage. It's something that women have to deal with on a far more regular basis than men do...(although I've seen some man boobies which rival mine... and they go braless...! Irrespective of the male/female thing, can you elaborate on why they don't scale? I understand it in a vague way (was covered in the canopy class), but it was far over my head, inasmuch as my low jump numbers and infrequent visits to the dz don't allow me the ability to observe as much I would like so as to be able to visualize it. Depends on the realtor, I guess. I've never had a client lose their job during or right after (within a proximate time) of closing an escrow. My standard disclaimer to clients who're buying is:"This process can be a nightmare or an adventure. And the difference depends on our communication!" And so far, everyone has chosen adventure.
