I'm going to work in about 90 minutes. I have a listing appointment at noon, and a colleague already has a buyer if I get the listing. If I get the listing, I have about 5 hours' worth of paperwork in front of me. If I don't get the listing, I can be home by 3:30 p.m...unless something's gone wonky on one of the other two files I have open right now... How do you attach photos? Not avatars, but like attachments...I know you use the box thing below, but everyone has titles and stuff on them, and I don't know how to do that, or do multiple attachments. I have a couple of my father (from the scrapbook) that I think would be fun to share with you guys, but I can't figure out how to do it...any help would be appreciated. Nope. Of course, she's 84, thinks Carter is still in office and he's charging too much for the peanut prices. I have about 10 front door keys hidden around, and my office number at all the neighbors. Angela has a bad habit of changing purses, and forgetting to move the contents of one purse into her new one, leaving the house, and locking herself out. She's always bringing me pies, and feeds all the stray cats in the area. She's great, and living in the 70's seems to agree with her. That may've been the last time she had sex, too, for all I know. I have to go to work and make a few calls sometime today. I have two files to get moving on, get complete, etc. 'cause one is closing in the 2nd week of January! So, yes, I have to go in today...and tomorrow...and Sat...and Sunday. Maybe I'll take Monday through next Thursday off. I got the best gift from my father. The absolute best gift. My father just celebrated his 80th birthday, and at the party, I had his family and friends write on gold paper their favorite memories and thoughts about him. My brother took photos of them with my father, too...one of my favorites is my niece (2 years old) flashing her belly at my father, and my father flashing his belly at her...with his underwear hanging out over his pants. I also had my father write out some of his favorite/most memorable moments from his life - like fighting in the CBI theatre, beginning to act, moving to California, and so forth. Then, one day when he wasn't home, I "stole" all the old photo albums. I found pictures which illustrated the stories, and scanned them onto the same gold paper, and put the stories on the gold paper with the photos. The photos spanned the '20's through now. My sister-in-law and I spent many hours putting together a scrapbook for him - black leather with his name embossed on the front. The pages were black, and so the whole thing was black and gold. You open it, and there is one of my favorite black and whites of him - sitting in the back yard, hair all wild, arms splayed, laughing. The caption read "He who laughs, lasts"...the photos were matched with the letters, and the stories and his history followed. There's a total of about 60 pages. It closes with a photo of my nephew in his jammies sitting on his Papa Len's lap, fast asleep...and so is my father... The look on my father's face, and the tears in his eyes as he read through it...that was the best present I could've ever gotten. I made my father smile. Dunno about you, Moody, but I'd try this... I'd drop the stuff off on the front porch, during the evening. Let the mom find them in the morning or whatever. If that's not to your liking...take them to a shelter. Or a church. Or the local hospital. The sick children there need extra cheering up. Or, take them to the local cops, who usually know the down and out-ers who need a hand. Sorry that this occurred this way. But what Lou said is right - it's in the giving that we find the true joy...not in the appreciation of it. Sure, it's nice to be appreciated; you like it, I like it, everyone likes it. But that's an added bonus. The benefit is in the giving, without any expectation. That's one of the kewlio things about giving something anonymously...you can't expect anything in return. Interesting question. I would like to have answered very differently - I'd like to answer that I am happy and totally content with being alone. But that's only true sometimes. Sometimes, I think that in some areas, I have a lot to offer, but don't know how to offer it. In other areas, I really think I missed the book or something, 'cause I just don't "conform". What can be really challenging is this "not conforming" thing. I have no desire to be like the Joneses...and yet, that is what most guys are looking for, in my experience. And then there are some times when I just figure I'll be all alone for the rest of my life...discouraged, depressed, lonely....and it's seriously hard times then. And the other truth is I'm scared of being in an intimate relationship. After I split with my ex, I have dated one other man for a short while. Things didn't work, and it was a very tough thing for me to deal with. I'm scared of making that commitment again, and having the same result - and dealing with the aftermath is significant and lengthy. I am still pretty fragile, and picking up the pieces. So until I manage to get myself sorted out a bit more, or until someone comes along who's willing to participate with that sorting process and not create additional conflict, then I suppose it'd be best for me to remain single. Heya, Fred, and welcome! Whoooooooooohooooooooooooooo!!! I'm not sure I understand why you failed. Was it because you don't have enough of an arch to be stable? Or were you turning or something? Just kinda unclear... You've gotten some great advice above. I'd like to add my .02, if I may...but as for being tall and skinny, that is not me - not by a long shot. Short and chubby for me. But I am flexible. And I am also a newbie jumper myself, 46 of them only, so take what I say with a grain of salt... I heard arching explained this way to a student who hadn't "gotten" it...at the moment of orgasm, you thrust as far into your partner as you can...and THAT's the position you are aiming for in the air...(sorry for being kinda blunt, but it's a great way to immediately understand it, I've heard. Doesn't quite work for us girls, though! LOL). Lie on the floor, and do a 1/2 body push up...straighten your arms, and leave your hips on the floor if possible. Do this several times in a row, holding it to a count of 10...then down. Doing this several times in a row, you will learn the feeling of the arch in the upper body. Lie on your belly on the floor, and lift up your chest and thighs at the same time, not using your arms at all. This will strengthen the lower back muscles, and will help you in the air. Stretch. Do Yoga. Get the book Yoga For Dummies (it's the one I started with), or some of the more simple yoga books. No one is ever too old to gain flexibility. And last piece of advice - smile and have fun. I've never done anything illegal (well, as far as drugs go...). My brother had a huge problem with some stuff years ago, but he's been clean for nearly 20 years. Now, my father, on the other hand, has a few interesting experiences. About 4-5 years ago, he decided to try LSD. Loved it. He thought it was really amazing and fun and incredible. Three years later, he tried ecstacy. Didn't like it as much as LSD. He was 75 when he did acid, and 78 when he tried ecstacy. There's a story in that somewhere..... I wrestled my budget....I mean, strangled it outright, and managed to get a few little things for my nephew and niece - she got a Winnie The Pooh small book set (3) and a Classic Pooh Bear, and he got Where the Wild Things Are, and a Wild Thing stuffed animal, and a Wild Thing puzzle. I do feel better bringing those guys something - they wouldn't know the difference, but I would. And they bring me such joy and love and great happiness that I can't help but get them a little something. Christmas will be at my father's house, so no cooking, cleaning, whatever for me. And a client sent me a Marie Calendar Pie gift certificate, and I will be bringing the Pecan Pie. It will be great to be with family...
