3 cups of coffee, 2 prednesone pills and one Zyrtec... Sigh... Ciels- Michele ~Do Angels keep the dreams we seek While our hearts lie bleeding?~

I almost got into it with some guy in Spetember 2001. Thankfully, LtDiver walked me away from him, explained he was an asshole, and we proceeded to go play in the sky. It's extremely rare for me to get that "het up" about something, but it was important, and it was dealt with more appropriately after I had calmed down. He never calmed down, but I did, so I approached him later that day and let him know what had upset me so very badly.... I haven't seen him again - I'm sure he's been there, I just haven't seen him. I miss you. However, you're here now, and as soon as I can get this itchy shit under control, and off these meds which are making me really fidgity and exhausted, I shall come down and play. Hey...the thought just struck me. You moved down here. I've developed a serious allergic reaction to something (still dunno what)...maybe I'm allergic to YOU!! Thunder Quake Ingredients: * 1 part Cherry brandy * 1 part Cognac * Fill with white Cider Mixing instructions: Swill the Congac around the glass then add the cider and float the brandy over the top. For added effect, light the brandy. Yes, I'd try it, but only with quality Cognac and brandy, and no lighting the brandy. Just keep asking, and you shall keep receiving in spades! And congratulations for getting back up there, tandem or not. You'll be ready for level 3 in no time. Just remember the incredible feeling that lays right outside the door, within your reach, just waiting for you. Focus on that, and you will be able to get past the door. I have, quade, asked a far more senior jumper than me (with medals and such) why he did something the way he did. I asked him politely, in the plane, why XX when YY was what I was taught. His answer? "Good question. I didn't realize". I've pointed out loose chest straps to senior people, and, even though they knew about it, they thanked me for looking at them. My problem (or my benefit) is that I don't actually recognize a lot of people in this sport yet; I don't get intimated by their accomplishments or what they are supposed to know. Heck, I didn't know who Clint Clawson was until my third jump with him (just that he was wayyyy cool and had a great smile) and didn't really understand what he'd accomplished until I took my canopy stuff with him, a year and change after starting jumping. The key, I think, is not saying "hey, fuckwad, you've left your seatbelt on, dimwit", but rather nudging/pointing, and doing it discreetly because if it's an accident/overssight, whomever it is (big, little, famous, infamous) doesn't need public embarassment or humiliation...and if they want to make an issue of it, that's their option, and makes them look more like an ass than me. As long as it's approached from a perspective of potentially an accident by the doer, this allows them saving grace possibilities. If it is approached with an "I know better than YOU, all the time, all day long, you're such a numbnuts", then yeah, there's going to be defensive posturing going on. And yes, I've done as I've "preached", and learned a thing or two in the process. And so did the other jumper. Ciels- Michele ~Do Angels keep the dreams we seek While our hearts lie bleeding?~

I would ask....to share information, me perhaps learn something, but also to let them know, subtlely, that the action was seen. Asking a question is not seen as aggressive, and generally won't get someone defensive. I don't mean getting in their face and shouting "wtf are you doing??" which is, indeed a question, but more like "I was watching you, and noticed you did X. I was curious as to why" at a moment that they looked like they were taking a break, or not involved in something else. If a person approaches someone with the intent to "3rd degree", there will be a natural inclination to defend. If, however, one approaches with a sense of curiousity, non-prejudgment, and/or learning, then the answer is far more likely to be honest, and the information given you will likely be more complete. What you decide to do, however, after the information is obtained is up to you. Ciels- Michele ~Do Angels keep the dreams we seek While our hearts lie bleeding?~

Smile and enjoy yourself; that's what I do a lot. Looks, thank God, aren't everything. And you are a very kewl guy. Ciels- Michele ~Do Angels keep the dreams we seek While our hearts lie bleeding?~

Nope, Jan. Maybe having to do with allowances for S/L training or shorter times due to freeflying, perhaps? Why not ask at the meeting next week and let us know the reasoning behind it? Ciels- Michele ~Do Angels keep the dreams we seek While our hearts lie bleeding?~

On this day, the 4th of July, the day our country was born 227 years ago... On this day, I think of all of the people who had a dream, who left homes, family, country, and security to come to a new land. They came knowing nothing about it, and, dreaming as large as they could, and with far more courage than is commonly understood, they founded a country. A country which stands, proud, as the leader in the world. A country which knows itself to be good, despite what others think it. A country which allows that same courage, that same dreaming power, that same futuresight, to change the world; time and again, those who dreamed, those who had courage, changed the world, made it better. A country that, when called, sends it's sons and daughters out into the rest of the world, whether it be an invasion of a tyrannical leader, a mighty earthquake, or a plague. A country that will spend it's wealth - money, food, people - and share it's resources with countries in need. Because this country understands that all countries are really people, and people are the true resources of this planet - and in lessening the need, again the ability to create, ability to dream, to have courage, to look forward and to change lives, is fostered. For those who have given their lives, their hopes and dreams, their courage and commitment, I am in debt. For all those currently serving my country, I say "thank you". For those who have served, I say again "thank you". And to those dissenters, to those detractors, to those who, time and again demonstrate my country's ideals, I say "thank you". Today is the 4th of July. Tomorrow, the 5th, I will also have these same feelings. As I will every day of my life. Ciels- Michele ~Do Angels keep the dreams we seek While our hearts lie bleeding?~

If there was a way, Michael, for me to get there, I most certainly would. I once ended up in Labor and Delivery with a client I had known only 2 weeks...and was there for the whole thing. Most amazing time it was. Kinda awkward - there are things you don't need to know about your clients - but totally amazing and wonderful. Tell the Divine Little Miss M that she is keeping people from the hot dogs and beer! If she hears about "beer", she may hurry up! Or at least give Lori a beer. (And a hug from me, please) Ciels- Michele ~Do Angels keep the dreams we seek While our hearts lie bleeding?~

And I thought I had a bad case of door fear! Geesh, Monica, it's alright....Daddy will be there to catch you! Ciels- Michele ~Do Angels keep the dreams we seek While our hearts lie bleeding?~

I like them both, but really only get to see fireworks. Most times, living here in So. CA (or, at least where I live), we don't get dramatic lightning riddled storms. The few times I've seen those sorts of storms, I adored them. I remember when I lived in Belgium sitting in the attic room I had watching a storm come furiously flying across the farm. It was glorious and intense, awe-inspiring and very very loud. 20 years later I can still recall the light, the sound, the smell....I'd be hard pressed to recall a fireworks show I've ever seen, even one from last year. But I like fireworks, too. There isn't a real comparison - one is manmade, and the other is made by nature. Two wholly different events.
