Jim Wallace, grand maestro, is "old" (and I use that term loosely, mind you ) - and far more able to teach, both physically and mentally, than a whole lotta "younger" people. If I had to do a tandem, I would ask Jim to take my life in his hands. If I had to do AFF over again, I would take from his school - just because of HIM... And that is my opinion. Slowly. I open the bag with great finesse, making sure nothing important is caught on an edge. Sliding a finger down into the darkness, the smell of chocolate lifts to my nose, and titillates my senses. As my finger passes over the hard shell candy, the silkiness is tantalizing. I fish a candy out, and balance it ever so gently in my palm, and slowly lift it to my mouth, placing it on the tip of my tongue. Then I pull the candy into my mouth, and swirl it around. I suck just hard enough to get the candy shell to crack. Once I find the fissure, I lick it precisely there several times, coaxing the first of the melting chocolate out. After I have done this long enough to get the flavor, I fold my tongue around it, and just hold it there, pulsing it. And then, then the chocolate has been warmed enough, and comes exploding out of the shell, filling my mouth with it's stickiness, flooding my tastebuds with chocolate. My broker has two pots sitting on his desk...one perfect, one perfect but with a tiny crack in it. It's a visual of this story, and it's there to remind all of us we are the way we are, and we make the contributions we can. But he's gone a little farther with it...inside the "perfect" pot is a rock. He reminds people that the whole pot did his job, too, and that the contribution the whole pot made was as important as the cracked pot. And also, with the rock, he reminds people sometimes flaws aren't seen, but make a difference anyway. I love that parable, and I think it's great to be reminded to contribute how you can, when you can, and let the flowers grow. One day, I went to go jump with some friends. I found out that someone had put some jumps into my account that day, before I got there. His only request was that we use one of the jumps together. We did, it was a blast. It was a rodeo which turned into a fruitloop...much fun, but also greatly increased my confidence in the air about "unexpected" things"...and so had an effect which was larger than anticipated.
