  1. chronicles 3 I'm pretty sure this was actually footage from an event that Charles organized at Eloy... maybe the freefly festival? I forget Edited because it may be chronicles2 LOL
  2. I think the box might actually fit on the helmet a certain way... like it's contoured to fit the helmet. At least thats how mine is.
  3. wasn't fun lovin criminal when charles was flying with the clown mask or something?
  4. you have to use firewire to import video into imovie... Run software update and make sure you install everything. then check again and install everything...
  5. yeah piece of cake, except the hangar height doesn't leave too much room for error! But, Joao is the man!!!!!
  6. i sent my back to Rawa dn he switched the box for me from a 101 to a 1000. took about 2 weeks, including shipping. I don't remember how much it cost... maybe $100 for everything? The new box looks great.
  7. the photographer makes the photo, not the camera... that said, the 5D is real nice and so are the 20d and 30d. Any of the Canon "L" lenses are high end glass. Even the new Rebel XTi is nice.
  8. seriously, can you imagine trying to sit fly and keep the camera pointed at your subject! Or head down? And when you want that sick shot under canopy, you'd have to drop the toggle to point the camera at the subject???? Plus, if you wore a t-shirt, you'd have a wire smacking against you the whole time in freefall! Doesn't make sense to me...
  9. Perris: Joao Tambor, Mike Swanson, Alaska Jon Eloy: Steve Curtis, Amy, Dusty, Jason Peters, Punisher, Mick, Omar, Jeffro, Roberta... theres a lot of great coaches in Eloy.
  10. I went ahead and checked out the service manual and theres actually nothing tricky about opening the new 24" iMac. So if the graphics card is upgradeable, it won't be taking apart the computer that slows you down...
  11. it may be upgradeable, but the case is a pain in the ass to open... especially without a service manual...
  12. Just got back from an hour and a half session in skyventurenh... It was AWESOME! Great facility, really great staff, sick tunnel! Can't wait to get back and fly a lot more!!!!!
  13. turn the camcorder onto playback, rather than record, open imovie, switch the imovie interface to camera mode and it should recognize the camera... OtherWorldComputing sells dvd-rw drives that you can put in your imac, and also external drives http://eshop.macsales.com/shop/optical-drives/superdrives/ I don't know which is the best though...
  14. Novicento. Owned by a skydiver, great Argentinian food, dark atmosphere, super good. Close to Puck Fair, where another skydiver woorks the bar in the basement. West Broadway between Grand and Broome
  15. I don't know of a specific service that does, but there's probably a couple that do... One thing nice about Smugmug is that you can set up a cname with your host, assuming you have a website, which keeps a URL based off of your domain, but displays Smugmug's data... Maybe other services provide this option, but I'm not really sure. http://Photography.AndrewLGillies.com (This is different than forwarding)
  16. http://www.shutterfly.com/professional_photo_gallery/index.jsp Shutterfly also has a Pro section...
  17. I use Smugmug's Pro service. No limits, set your own prices, they handle the printing and transaction and take 15% of the profit. Plus they charge $150 per year. (I shoot events and sports)
  18. I've seen lines get caught up in a top mounted configuration during opening. The flat top pro comes with a cutaway system in case there is an entanglement. In skydiving, there are inherit risks... add a camera to the mix and there are added risks. Mounting on the top doesn't eliminate those risks. You can do everything "right" and still run into problems. You should fly side and top and see how your neck feels... see if the top mount effects your head down flying, see if you hit the inside of the airplane. See which feels the most comfortable. Test out both configurations and see which you like more. Then, when you decide to buy a side mount, go with the RAWA. It's the most comfortable
  19. All the Powerbooks/mac book pros support mirroring and dual display modes, as do the new macbooks (One external monitor and one on the laptop). You can also plug in the laptop, connect a keyboard and mouse and an external display, and close the laptop and use just the external display as the monitor. From Apple's website: When you connect an Apple Cinema Display to MacBook Pro, you lose nothing in translation. That’s because the DVI connection gives you a pure digital signal from system to display. View more than 4 million pixels on the 30-inch Apple Cinema HD display, powered by the ATI Mobility Radeon X1600 and the dual-link DVI built into MacBook Pro. With Mac OS X, you get three options for using your display: dual-display mode, video mirroring, and lid-closed mode" The ibook's firmware could be hacked to support extended desktop, but I don't believe it works closed the way the PB and MBP do.
  20. It seems like the "Pro" camera fliers choose the top mount and the casual camera fliers choose side mount. I first tried out the top mount and found the openings to be a little rough on the neck. I hardly notice anything with the side mount. Top mount does NOT eliminate riser slaps and hangups (You'll probably find a lot of info by searching for this topic as it has definitely been discussed here before)
  21. i couldn't believe she shit on the floor!
  22. From the SAG FAQ page: http://www.sag.org/sagWebApp/application?origin=hnav_bar.jsp&event=bea.portal.framework.internal.refresh&pageid=FAQs 2. What is the Screen Actors Guild? The Screen Actors Guild (SAG) is a labor union founded in 1933 to protect performers. Primarily concerned with wages and working conditions, SAG negotiates and enforces collective bargaining agreements that establish equitable levels of compensation, benefits and working conditions for performers. SAG is affiliated with The American Federation of Labor-Congress ofIndustrial Organizations (AFL-CIO) through the Associated Actors and Artists of America. You can review SAG’s Mission Statement under Inside SAG. (1000th post woo hoo)
  23. if the video is more than 50 something minutes long, it was cause playback problems...
  24. I think the answer to the original question about the website was that the website was incorrect and should have stated, opening in the middle to end of August... Other than that, I saw the point that Paige was making and how it could be taken as scarcism, but knowing Paige, that wasn't her point.
