I grew up in the Dallas area, and I moved 300 miles away to South Texas about two years ago. I don't really feel a need to leave Texas, but if a good reason came along, I wouldn't hesitate. A few months ago I considered moving to Florida. I have a passport. Wait, what is this thread about? It's early. Skydiving is for cool people only

Someone once told me I was yummy. Once I was on a jump billvon was organizing and he said, "Well, I know Jessica can get to her slot." An old boyfriend said I had April eyes. Same guy also told me I was the best writer he had ever known. I think the best compliment is when someone cool is my friend, and enjoys talking to and spending time with me. That's what makes me feel best about myself, that I have enough to offer that really great people want to spend their precious seconds on earth with me. Skydiving is for cool people only

If you are willing to buy something you can fly NOW, and not "grow into," then buying your gear now is a fine idea. The problem is people just off AFF buying equipment that is too aggressive for them with the idea that it's something they can jump for a long time. While I was still in AFF, I found and bought equipment with a 170 main (at .9:1) and a 150 reserve. I jumped the main for 100 jumps, then downsized to a semi-elliptical 150, keeping the same container and reserve. Personally, I think renting gear for 50 jumps when you're sure you want to stay in the sport is a huge waste of money. Again, the bottom line is buy gear you can safely jump NOW, not something that you don't yet have the skill to fly. You can always switch out mains later. Skydiving is for cool people only

Bleah, that sucks. If he calls you and says he's going to kill himself, call the police. They will go get him and put him in the hospital for evaluation. I don't know what else to tell you. Heh! I have so much trouble exiting 182s because of my side-door exit training. I always launch myself off the strut, invariably backflipping. It's kind of funny. I've only got less than 10 182 jumps though. Skydiving is for cool people only

I'm a really good editor. I can take something someone's written, and tighten it, tweak it, fill in the blanks, until it's a beautiful, readable piece, with all the integrity of the writer's voice intact.
