  1. I found this one http://www.azcentral.com/offbeat/articles/0913BirthdayJump13-ON.html I also found another woman that did it a couple of weeks ago. http://abcnews.go.com/wire/US/ap20040830_1570.html. Does anyone know who the oldest is to jump?
  2. Fox just showed a video of a 93yr old woman skydiving today after she got inspired by Former President Bush's jump for his 80th. Does anyone have anymore info on this jump? I thought it was way cool.
  3. Hi, welcome aboard. Where did you do your first jump?
  4. Huuuuuu raaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!
  5. Actually, the egg came before the chicken in this case. The HK91 is a CETME clone. After WWII, the german designers of the German Assault Weapons fled to Spain, taking with them their designs. They created the CETME, and returned to Germany several years later and created the HK91/G3 for the Germans. Thanks for pointing that out, I never get tired of learning about guns.
  6. The CETME is a HK91 clone. My brother has one and the quality is pretty decent. If you want to see what they do, watch BLACK HAWK DOWN, they shoot a .308 that is a great cartridge.
  7. Well, at least it lets me know that if Mr. Trooper comes a knockin' on my window then I better just shut up and take the ticket. Get a lawyer to fight it later or plea down to traffic school or whatever. If Al can't get out of it, then I definately wouldn't. Note to self--save your breath!!!
  8. This whole thread has been very enlightening to me who only has one jump and is waiting for my broken arm to heal. I hope I can learn through others mistakes so when I get my chance, I will decide correctly.
  9. What else would you expect? National Average IQ's: Hong Kong 107 Korea, South 106 Japan 105 Taiwan 104 Singapore 104 Austria 102 Germany 102 Italy 102 Netherlands 102 Sweden 101 Switzerland 101 Belgium 100 China 100 New Zealand 100 U. Kingdom 100 Hungary 99 Poland 99 Australia 98 Denmark 98 France 98 Norway 98 United States 98 Canada 97 Czech Republic 97 Finland 97 Spain 97 Argentina 96 Russia 96 Slovakia 96 Uruguay 96 Portugal 95 Slovenia 95 Israel 94 Romania 94 Bulgaria 93 I'm not ready to move out of the country yet, how bout you? Maybe its all those liberals dragging down our scores. IQ or not, no one can come close to this country in industry advancements, advancements in medicine, technology, human rights, etc. You could probably find some country that might perform well in one metric, but not as a whole.
  10. Is everyone seeing the trend on that Rasmussen poll display? It seems that no matter the current poll numbers, Dubya is gaining ground fast.
  11. The way to keep crap like this from happening is to lock these idiots who do these crimes with guns or anything else away and never let them out. No matter how hard the tree huggers whine. Then maybe they would think twice before picking one up for no good reason. This would work the same way that the concealed carry programs did in over 38 states, to reduce violent crime, because the criminals now have a pretty good chance of picking the wrong guy who is packing.
  12. I forgot to add that I have experienced greater accuracy than that, but I think that they just claim 3" so you won't return it. (The sight is preset and there in no adjustment) Mine usually hits within an inch or so of where the dot is. Its also great in low light conditions and since it pulsates and is not steady, you can even see it in direct sunlight.
  13. I think my wife bought mine at a gun dealer and paid 350 but I have seen them on gunbroker.com and ebay for 280 or so. They are so cool, because you don't need a slide rail and no special holsters, because everything is internal. The batteries last for a couple of years and are only 10 bucks. The point of Impact is accurate to within +/- 3 inches. I wouldn't want to rely on it, but it makes a great deterent to the use of deadly force, something that even the most liberal ones on here should appreciate. One testimonial of a cop that has one says that he was on patrol when they got a call about a deranged man with a shotgun on his porch. After the cops arrived a couple of shots were fired back and forth without anyone hitting their mark and then the cop remembered that he had just installed his lasermax. He turned it on and put the red dot on the guys chest. He said that the man looked down and saw it and immediately laid down his weapon. Living in Texas, where they value the right of home defense VERY seriously, I still would rather light someone up, than send them to hell. Especially since you are very likely to be sued in a civil court by the family of the deceased even if you broke no laws. Like my concealed carry course instructor says, No possession is worth someones life. Before you freak out and think that I'm some liberal/tree hugging/bleeding heart pinko, let me emphatically say that I would not hesitate if I thought my family or anyone else's life was in danger.
  14. I love my Glock 26 with the lasermax sight. You gotta have that for any Glock. The 26/27 models or "baby glocks" make good concealed carry guns. http://www.lasersightsusa.com/products/index.html My wife gave it to me for Valentines Day, cool huh?
  15. I didn't know your brother, but I'm sure he would be proud. Just makes me realize, one again, how we need to treasure each day with our families and loved ones.
  16. I woke up this morning and was kinda bummed at another day of work, until I looked at a Calendar and looked at the date. Do you guys know what is expiring in 5 days?? I'm gonna party all weekend.
  17. I guess that where they get the CNN (Communist News Network)???????????
  18. Nope, but that T-shirt sounds like it would be funny. I jumped with Ira and he is super cool also. Check out the pics above to see us. By the end of September, I should be healed. Doc said that it would be 6 weeks, maybe a little more to get the strength back up.
  19. I've been to Seattle quite a few times and I usually walk around the downtown area, watch the infamous Pike Place Market, where they throw the fish and eat some great seafood. I love their fish tacos. Great place, but very rainy all the time.
  20. I think that the "left" hates Bush so bad that they would continue their irrational stance and still vote for Kerry. I think that they would vote for a monkey before Dubya. I don't understand why, its just what I've seen this year.
  21. Yeah, now that I think of it there is a great distinction between how much time we "think" has passed and how much has actually passed. With all the rhetoric, it seems like it has been years of this election. I wish it was today so we could all move on. (no pun intended to give credence to moveon.org the opposite of www.kerry-04.org)
  22. Another website designed to sway last minute voters. Hasn't everyone already made up their mind by now?
  23. Thanks for the warm welcome and well wishes. My wife did say that she would request Dan for her cert., because he was very patient with her. Just that little bit extra goes a long way with us young ones to the sport.
  24. I think it may help you guys to post the entire quote from Ross. “It would be a mistake to found a natural science on ‘what we really think,’ .... For such opinions are interpretations, and often misinterpretations, of sense-experience; and the man of science must appeal from these to sense-experience itself which furnishes his real data. In ethics no such appeal is possible. We have no more direct way of access to the facts about rightness and goodness and about what things are right or good, than by thinking about them; the moral convictions of thoughtful and well-educated people are the data of ethics just as sense-perceptions are the data of a natural science” What I get out of this is that there is no way to "quantify" the rightness of a particular decision unlike science that is for the most part black and white. Because it is only right to whomever made the decision, but may not be right to anyone else. Ross is emphasizing that this decision making "ethics" is gleaned through experience. He says a couple of pages earlier, “In this respect the judgement as to the rightness of a particular act is just like the judgement as to the beauty of a particular natural object or work of art. ... Both in this and in the moral case we have more or less probable opinions which are not logically justified conclusions from the general principles that are recognized as self-evident” But what do I know???????????????
