  1. Does anyone know where we can reach Alex Conger? Last we heard he was running Skydive Naples in Florida and rumor has it that it is now shut down. Any information would be appreciated

Don't forget Skydive San Marcos fifth Annual Halloween Jump fest and Costume Party. $16.00 jumps all weekend Fri, Sat & Sun with $12.00 jumps before 9:30 am Sat and Sun. live music by Austins own "Dirty Sally" Costume contest Sat. night with $1000.00 (jump credit) up for grabs along with free beer as usual a roast pig and Phil's world famous hot wings, be there or be square. And don't forget Our new Super Otter will be here for the weekend of November 15th and we have some great events planed over the next year so lets get started now.
  3. I had 4000 jumps before my first reserve ride and have had only two reserve rides in over 6000 jumps one off which was intentional

As most of you may already know Skydive San Marcos is taking delivery of a super otter early November, however we neglected to mention we will have a full time chopper available to us in just a week or so. We @ ssmi are really looking forward to the next year with some great events planed, starting with our annual Halloween party & Thanksgiving dinner/ gun fest

  6. Wow!! We here skydive San Marcos is getting another Super Otter and taking delivery in early November and its here to stay. Phil says the King Air will be @ Houston Skydive Center and will offer $16.00 jumps all winter long and possibly even cheaper if the response is good. just think no sliping and sliding on take offs (paved runways) looking forward to this
  7. YeeHaa! Skydive San Marcos will be taking delivery of a -27 DHC-6 (Super Otter) in early November and will be here to stay. They will be starting there annual $99.00 any day all you can jump Nov. 1st. And bringing there King Air to Houston Skydiving Center and having $16.00 to 13000ft all winter long. These guys rock and want you in the air. And there the only Turbine DZ in Texas with paved run ways @ both facilities

Insurance on plane $45.000 7. manifest. going rate in calif (worth 50 hr) 8. pilot 9. Loader if they use one 10. Maintenance on planes $150.000 yr 11. Utilitys.water,toilet paper,ect YA! SOUNDS LIKE PURE PROFIT TO ME and one things for sure Skydivers, if they can't fuck it drink it or eat it they'll tear it it up! and then leave it where they get done with it

  12. Houston Skydiveing Center is Two hours from Austin on Hwy 71 and about 35 minutes out of Houston on Hwy 59 south. We will be having plenty of Beer, Food...Hot Dogs.Hamburgers, Steaks, brotz. Oh Yea did I mention no registration..never has, never will

  14. [cool Bayou City skydiving is coming along as planed, we are refinishing walls, floors, ect with new build out. we are working on the landing area and the hanger area. The planed date of the grand opening is the weekend of June 21st we will be flying the King Air that weekend. We would like to thank all the Houston area skydivers for your over whelming support in this endeavor. OH! (one other thing) we sat out in the landing area several evening last week and not one mosquito bothered us. But maybe we smelled pretty bad after a long day of work.     New Houston DZ

    Well it took a littel longer than expected, however its done. Houston Skydiving Center in Whorton, Tx will be opening soon. We will be using a Twin Bo for now but a turbine is in the sights. All are welcome. More info coming soon

It is not our intention to compete with DZ's in the Houston Area, however with piston Aircraft (@ this time) and gear already paided for, we feel we can fill a void in the are that will only inhance the Houston Skydiving Community. And with the empendind down sizing or even closure of area DZ/s our Group feels this will be a filler in the area. Thanks and Blue Skies

  20. We will be jumping Thursday thru Sunday @ San Marcos out of the Otter and the new King Air Should be here Friday and its a really sweet airplane.
  21. I have known Allen for some 20 years now and although we don't always see eye to eye I do believe he would make a very good Reg. Dir. he is geared more to the avg.& beginning skydivers vs competition. At the same time I do like Don E. but feel Dons plate is already full and if there is one thing we don't need its a Reg Dir thats not in touch with the whole sport. Thats been the problem in to many Regions for to long and thats why SSMI droped out of the USPA. However we are rejoining in part due to the fact that weather Allen or Don are successful we need to ack together Phil Chappell Skydive San Marcos
  22. After the injurys sustained by Chris Saline many people have been throwing around different ideas to help Chris with his long road to recovery. With the help of Nolan Ryan and the Round Rock Express BaseBall Team and Dell Diamond we have a start. Skydive San Marcos has agreed to perform a # of Demo's @ no cost to Dell Diamond and in exchange the Express are throwing us a party. For those of you not familure with the Express and Dell Diamond they are the AA team for the Houston Astros, there home is a brand new fabulous Facilty located in Round Rock, just outside of Austin, TX. The Express have agreed to furnish Fifty Tickets that will give us passage to the First base Party Area. Along with this they are furnishing Hamburgers, Hotdogs, Chips, Cokes,Ice Tea and yes a keg of BEER. OH!!! did I mention that the Party Area has a Huge Pool and Jaccuzi, is fenced in and over looks the field. All proceeds are going to the Chris Saline Recovery Fund. We will be taking donations starting @ $20.00 per ticket but we ask for as much as you can spare, Chris has a long road ahead of him so lets get his journey started off right!
