  1. Darn...well said and understood. Thank goodness this is something that I learned from, even if it wasn't my mistake. At least I experienced it, didn't get hurt by it and I learned from it. From now on, I'll do exactly what AndyMan said. Lecture them about it even if they need it or not.... What's the most you ever lost in a coin toss, Friendo?
  2. I agree. I'll just talk with him and a JM together. Maybe we all can think level headed and reason well all together. He just needs to work on his skydiving common sense, be aware of his surroundings and be more alert to probable danger. What's the most you ever lost in a coin toss, Friendo?
  3. Not harsh at all. Tell me about it. I thank my God everyday for letting me live. We always do. His problem is that he's not aware of his surroundings and what his body is doing. He's got a lot of jumps, twice more than I have but he has less common sense and less reflex reaction time. I don't know......I don't want to paint a bad picture of the guy. I'm just glad that I'm going to be serious with my 4 way RW team and only jump with them from now on. What's the most you ever lost in a coin toss, Friendo?
  4. Yes, we dirt dived 4 times for this jump. We even discussed it on the plane that everyone was supposed to track away and that I was pulling in place. I did too. However, I carried out my part of the plan and stayed in place and pulled in place. I guess mistakes just happen. Thank goodness it wasn't a fatal mistake. 5. This guy obviously has problems. This is the 2nd time he's done it to me. This time was the closest. The other time he flew past me at 125mph, directly in front of me but he was a bit further. Still gave me the shits though. I've told him numerous times about this but he doesn't think he was that close. Luckily for me, it's a mistake I can walk away from. I will have to lecture him together with a JM about this. It's a tad bit awkward because he's my buddy and I don't want to sound like a preaching prick. I've already brought it to his attention twice. I even mentioned what could have happened if we collided or if I had opened first and he fell 125mph on me or if our canopies collided and what not. He's shrugging it off like it's nothing. I guess 3 strikes and your out so I'll have to do something about it and not let it get to that point. I wouldn't want anything happening to any of us in the future. What's the most you ever lost in a coin toss, Friendo?
  6. I only ask because I told the dude about this problem and I even showed him the video. He thought that we weren't that close. So I don't want to be a righteous prick and make judgements first. That's why I'm asking for opinions. What's the most you ever lost in a coin toss, Friendo?
  7. Man, you have no idea how many times I thought about that. Whew! What's the most you ever lost in a coin toss, Friendo?
  8. Here's a video of a 3 way jump. At breakoff, I was supposed to stay in place while the other jumpsuit guy tracks one direction and the yellow jumpsuit guy tracks the opposite direction. I was filming yellow jumpsuit guy's track. Therefore, I was supposed to pull in place. Well, it didn't quite turn out that way. Yellow jumpsuit guy tracked away just fine. I successfully taped him tracking away while maintaining my place and heading. Other jumpsuit guy didn't even track away and opened right next to me. So the question is: Do you think we're dangerously close to eachother upon opening or not? Here's the vid: http://www.superkatnyc.com/tooclose.htm What's the most you ever lost in a coin toss, Friendo?

  10. where someone opened up a tad bit too close to me. Should I post that in the Incidents forum or the safety and training forum? Let me know. Thanks in advance. What's the most you ever lost in a coin toss, Friendo?
  11. I loved that song. It used to make me happy. Now I'm freakin' crying when I heard that song. That's a damm great song. It's so perfect for Gus. I'm gonna miss ya buddy! I met Gus a couple times at Deland. I got to fly with him twice. I remember one day when it was windy, and I got backed up under my canopy, he was telling me that a friend of his died because he jumped on a very windy and gusty day. He told me "If you want to live long in this sport, you gotta know when to stay on the ground". Darn Gus! Who would have known that his adage would be my cardinal rule that I stick to till this day. You're the best there ever was Gus! I'm angry and sad at the same time! Thank you for having such a positive impact on my life man! I'm glad that I got to meet you. I'm glad that you inspired me. I'm glad that I got to fly with you. Rest in peace buddy. I will never forget your words of wisdom and everything that you taught me. See you soon Gus! 12. I'm only going to ask if it doesn't involve anything sexual...does it? What's the most you ever lost in a coin toss, Friendo?
  13. Maybe I should rub some on my crotch and then go out in the world to freely have unsafe sex too.
  14. I see...I guess you hate your job too, huh? What's the most you ever lost in a coin toss, Friendo?
  15. You bes tell granny to chuck the supply. For some reason, cans stay fresher longer than bottled soda. I guess the vacuum pressure keeps it that way. She does have cans, right? What's the most you ever lost in a coin toss, Friendo?
  16. They sure do. Now I have to be anal about it and read the expiration dates. What's the most you ever lost in a coin toss, Friendo?
  17. I wish I could. I'm too much of a flake now to drink tequila. What's the most you ever lost in a coin toss, Friendo?
  18. I know dude. Didn't mean to seem defensive but when I'm charged up like that I have be a rock. sounds like you and me are in the same boat. I don't know what your situation is like. Me, I'm not married and I don't have kids so I can afford to take the risk. What's the most you ever lost in a coin toss, Friendo?
  19. I went to the market last week, picked up a bottle of diet sprite, some oat bran bread and a few other things. I just made some toast and halfway through eating it, while typing a reply to another thread, I saw huge mold spores on the bread. I bit through a few of them. I then took a couple swigs of my diet sprite to wash away the swallowed mold spores from my throat and it tasted weird. I look at the bottle and it's expiration date is 9-10-04. Why me????!!!! I just recovered from my 2 week rest period of bronchitis from work. What am I gonna tell my boss now if I get sick again? Hoy ve.... What's the most you ever lost in a coin toss, Friendo?
  20. Ain't that the truth, GW. Congrats on your reelection. What's the most you ever lost in a coin toss, Friendo?
  21. No, of course not dude. I'm just saying. I wasn't confident enough to take the risk. I was miserable in my job but happy to be still working. The way I see it now is I still have a job and I can go out and see how green the grass is on the other side, get it? It's all about taking that risk. You'll just never know if you could have done better if you don't take the risk. That's a pain that I don't want to have to endure in my life. I already have enough couldas wouldas and shouldas and what ifs in my life. At least I'll know myself that it didn't work out and I learned from it. Instead of sitting back, taking bullshit, eating shit on a spoon and smiling and being miserable. What's the most you ever lost in a coin toss, Friendo?
  22. A friend of asked me if I was interested in interviewing for job opening for a smaller but a well to do company as the main IT guy and future head IT guy of the company. I told him, "well, my pay me shit for what I'm doing at A & E and they work me like a dog to the point where lunch breaks are non existent but the benefits are great. I'm a little scared to leave my job. What if I don't make it there and I don't get employed any where else? I lose my security". He told me, "Dude, you jump out of planes every weekend and you're scared?!!! Get real!". When he said that I had so much confidence built up inside me. I immediately spent 5 hours updating my resume and sent it out to him and 4 other prospective employers. I really felt good about myself. I felt that there was no task that I couldn't accomplish. Has this ever happened to you? I even feel good now. It's a feeling I know will last because I constantly remind myself about it now. What's the most you ever lost in a coin toss, Friendo?
  23. Exactly but not so bluntly put like that. I'm gonna let 'em know that from late spring to fall my home DZ has a huge turnout of tandem skydivers and that this would be a perfect opportunity for the brand to get exposure. What's the most you ever lost in a coin toss, Friendo?
