My family asked me what I wanted for Xmas, and there is nothing I really want or need, except a new Suunto, my old Vector decided to drink some salt water and drown. So I'm looking around the library and it's pretty damn empty. Couldn't figure out why. Yep, then I realized that it's friday night, and normal people go out. I on the other hand have to do work for a few more hours and go to sleep, because I have class from 9-5 sat and sunday (and the rest of the week). Thanks again for the input. Her desire/ability to become a doctor is not in question. Med school is a very unique experience, and sadly, Linz is right, all we can tell her now is either seek help, or suck it up (at least until classes are over and she takes the boards). It's scary and the possibility of suicide is always there. Last year some kid killed himself, and I know of at least 3 people who have seriouly contemplated it. Thanks for all the responses. We have encouraged her to seek help, and have spent time listening to her and trying to get to the bottom of things. The problem is she refuses to speak with anyone about what is bothering her. Sadly, I don't think she knows what the problem is, and as a good future surgeon, coudn't get any more stubborn. Her fricking out today, was not even about the actual exam, she was very well prepared for it. For what ever reason she just could not get it together. She went to admin. and was simply told - Suck it up or fail. She failed. We, as her friends are scared for her, because this does not seem to be school related. She truly seems to be breaking down. We are also scared because it is crunch time, and as much as we like, we have to think about our own exams this week. We have already spent many hours talking and consoling -- time, is unfortunately is a very precious commodity. Inveniam Viam aut Faciam I'm back biatches!

Another miserable semester is coming to a close, and one of my close friends is fricking the f out. This girl is super smart, top of the class, probably the nicest, most caring person I know, and is just crumbling. For no apparent reason, she can't stop crying, fricked out today before a practical exam (yes an exam on Sunday - Med school is great ), and because of that she got a big fat zero. Luckly she can remediate it after classes end, but will seriously affect her studying for another HUGE test on the 20th, and she won't be elligible for a particular rotation she really wanted and had lined up. We have another test tomorrow and a final on Wed. I hope she can get it together. She has been degrading for the past couple of weeks, and unfortunately, she doesn't know what the problem is, and refuses to talk to anybody. This sucks I hope she doesn't throw her life away. I think that tomorrow instead of going to class, I'm going to take a drive up to Zhills do some much needed jumping and perhaps stay and get drunk.... yeah... I think I'm going to do it. So, I've been really tired, sleep deprived, yada, yada, yada... REALLY not enjoying life, then today, 30 min. into finishing my 12hr ER rotation.... Realization that it can always get worse, and your life is really good... Poor old man, comes in with NECROSIS of the Penis and testicles. Most of the dorsum of his shaft was gone his ball bag was fricking huge with crepitus all over the area and going up his abdomen. P.S. If you have family, friends, or even someone you know or care about in a shitty "Nursing home/Hospice", PLEASE, look into them every so often. Another woman had soooo much gonorrhea, that you could go swimming in her discharge, if that is what you are into. Inveniam Viam aut Faciam I'm back biatches!

Hoping to get 3-4 hours of sleep tonight. Lectures tomorrow from 8:00 am to 9:30 PM, with 1 hour for lunch and maybe 1 hour for dinner, that is if they don't run late ... but they will run late. Little to no sleep tomorrow night, and because I have to write a stupid paper that is due Sat, so there goes most of Sat. too. Lecture all day Sunday..... it just goes on... My life is so sad, that I just want to sleep, do my laundry and here's the kicker...I actually would like some time to FUCKING STUDY I hate my life right now. Sorry, just felt like bitching. Bumpdy Bump You can drag and drop both files and music into both the ipod and itunes. ***but BACK to the original subject**** For some reason, these files will to go on the ipod, despite running just fine on itunes. They are downloaded audio files - really exciting -about 40 hours of pathology. I'm driving to Fl in a couple of weeks and I need to be listening to that audio on my way down. I need a help placing files into my ipod. Its weird because the files are played on itunes (mp3), but it does not allow me to download to my Ipod. Any ideas? I need some advice on how to best get a short term apartment in Miami. I'm doing a rotation from Sept-Dec., so i need a studio or a cottage or anything with a bed and desk in the Kendall, Coral Gables, Downtown area(ie, near UofM). The problem is I really don't have the time to spend and go crazy looking. Should I look at Craig's list, or newspaper, or.... which site/method would be most efficient? Is Miami the kinda of town I can just show up one day and have an apartment the next? Realtors are kinda out since I live on loans and could not even think forking over a month's rent. I agree, while working EMS -- Absolutely no contact without gloves, and that went for everything from car crashes, to the smallest booboo and even just transports. Now in school they, they have this thing of making us shake hands and do exams without gloves (NOT ALL EXAMS). Its freaking weird. We had a simulator class (a dummy/robot patient) and I got points deducted because I was standing "too far" from the patient . Apparently, it seemed uncaring. Old habits are a bitch to break. P.S. Working over 10 years in EMS and m my entire medical history -- Flu ONCE, and normal colds - Nothing else, ever. I want to keep it that way. Inveniam Viam aut Faciam I'm back biatches!

hehe We had on girl on the squad, that just hated the smell of puke, so when ever we had someone that would turn into a fountain, she would have to work through her own dry heaves Couple of times, she would just give a quick yack herself and be good to go. I once responded to a code at a doctors office, where we were presented with the fine MD doing CPR, as expected. Well this woman's arrest must have been induced by an obnoxious amount of food. The Doc would give a rescue breath, stop spit out vomit from his mouth and give another breath, spit vomit, compressions, After working EMS for 10 years, I can say there was a lot of puke. and the fine Doc was covered in it.
