I have to write some BS letter about myself, but can come up with the appropriate words- It's one of those 3 words to describe yourself BS. I've looked online but havent really found anything appropriate. 1) what's a single word to describe some one as "Calm and Collected" - ie stays calm and thinks clearly under stressful situation. Like every single skydiver who has ever lived. 2) Leader: someone who can both lead and take direction. Not a pompous freak who thinks he/she knows everything. I was going to use the word leader, but that seems a little pretentious for someone applying for the lowest job of the totem pole and may give off the wrong impression (relatively speaking - 1st year Medical resident) 3) Someone who can change as situations demand it. I'm thinking adaptable or dynamic. Thanks for the help, Inveniam Viam aut Faciam I'm back biatches!

Bank of America can kiss my ASS!!! My wallet was stollen this week, so I go ahead and call the to get the CC and Debit card cancelled and have it re-issued. No problem. CC should arrive in 3 days, debit card go to a local branch and get an emergency card, as the replacement will take 5-7 business days and sent to my permanent address in NJ. Fine. Keep in mind I have no ID of any kinda and only $1.75 to my name. (I'm outstate doing a rotation) I go to the bank and they can't issue me an emergency card because I'm from out of state, but I'm instructed to call customer service to have one issued. A little annoyed but fine. Call BofA customer service, they can't do anything because it has a Visa logo so they transfer me to Visa for an Emergency replacement card. Visa gets my info but needs approval from BofA??? They'll call me back. I'm really annoyed now. About an hour goes by and Visa calls back saying my request has been denied by Shit of America!! WTF! Called back CS and the lady tells my they can't issue me a card because there are local branches, near by. I explain to her that they will not issue me a card because, I'm out of state. So she tells me to take my ID and cash a check I tell her AGAIN my wallet was stolen, and I have no ID. She says no problem just go to branch and they'll give me an Emergency card WTF?? Did this lady have a stroke?? This could have kept going on for hours. The point is they will send me a replacement card to my permanent address in 5-7 days, and I just have to find some way of getting the card to Chicago. Thanks for the help. FUCK NUTS Inveniam Viam aut Faciam I'm back biatches!

Started fine. Just like any other, it even looked promising, I only had to go into to work for a couple of hours, and off to the library. At the library the misery started 1) I have to fill out some Dean's letter questionnaire BS (like describe yourself in 3 words, what is the meaning of life bs) thought I had until the 28th to do it. NOOOO have to overnight it on the 21. Just lost a entire week. 2) Get email from Financial aid. My money (only source of income) is going to be delayed. Even though not only less than 1 month ago I spoke with FA to make sure everything was in the up and up. They said "No worries, everything is in order". LIES. Had to scramble to set up some worthless elective just to fill time. 3) Management company calls not once but 3x saying that the can't find my rent check. Wait, they found it...No the didn't... they did... No oops, they THREW IT AWAY, and are going to turn off the internet tomorrow. (I paid on time). So my very low bank account is getting dismal. 4) THE TOPPER!!! I leave the homeless infested Chicago public library to go get something to eat at Panera. Nice environment, college students everywhere. Really nice. Had a really nice sammich and soup. Sit down, finally get a little studying done. All of the bad feeling go away. Leave to go home. WHERE THE FUCK IS MY WALLET??? It must have fallen out of my pocket at Panera and with 5 min. some SHIT BAG STOLE IT. CC, bank cards, ID's, money, a shit load of important business cards and contact info. All FUCKING GONE. That is after I verified it was gone by digging through the garbage cans of Panera and the street. So, I have $1.75 to my name, no id, no Driver's license. I'm like one of the homeless people at the Library. FUCK ME!!!! Inveniam Viam aut Faciam I'm back biatches!

My needs are somewhat similar to yours. Microsoft Word processing internet and few other work based programs. It may be more computer than I need, but like the idea of taking it to a local apple store if the thing goes awry. I like the way it looks. I really don't want to buy a new cheap computer, new antivirus, new firewall, new etc. The main drawbacks in my view are the price, the functionality of a tablet PC was quite nice , but since I don't have as many classes anymore its not a deal breaker. I was having the same dilemma as you My current computer is dying (Lenovo tablet pc), and yesterday my frustration hit a max as nothing would work. So I despite my previous "distaste" for Mac's, I'm going to convert, for 2 simple reasons: 1) I have never heard Apple owners complain about their computers. They all seem to love them. 2) I want "freedom" ( I know, not entirely) from viruses. The question is, do I wait until the WWDC (hope my computer will limp on until then) or just get it now Inveniam Viam aut Faciam I'm back biatches!

How drunk can you be and still board a flight?
Superman32 replied to Superman32's topic in The Bonfire
In Houston? Check. Wasted $1200? Check. Drinking cause your wallet was just raped to prove that you can speak English? Check. What is the Step II CS Board Exam? Do I win a prize? Ding, Ding, Ding! We have a winner! And for a prize.... Ummm ... Nothing, did you just read I spent $1200 on a completely useless test Inveniam Viam aut Faciam I'm back biatches! -

That my good sir, is exactly how I got on the plane. I wasn't slusshed, but feeling pretty damn good, and fell asleep immediately upon finding my seat and didn't wake up until we landed. One of the best flights I've been on -

Just took another ridiculous board licensing exam. $1200 worth of test that I didn't want to take. Anyway I'm at the airport in Houston and I'm about to get my drink for the next 3 hours until boarding starts Inveniam Viam aut Faciam I'm back biatches! -
The worst part of getting a colonoscopy on Monday...
Superman32 replied to ntrprnr's topic in The Bonfire
The worst part is for those that cheat and don't take all of their meds, so the doctor sees "mud" and can't visualize all of the colon... and for that , they get to do it all over again in next few days Inveniam Viam aut Faciam I'm back biatches! -
I did a rotation where the hours were from 5 am to 10:30-1100 pm, and every 4th day about 30-34 hours calls (with absolutely no sleep/nap). I used to fall asleep at every single traffic light . Once, I parked the car outside of my house and couldn't make it out of the car before sleeping for about 2 hours in the car. Those were 3 miserable summer months. I never saw sun light - drove to and from work in the dark --during the f'ing summer The most miserable part was the fact that, when on call, we would get there before the nurses. They would work an entire shift, go home come back and nearly finish their shift, and we were still there. Inveniam Viam aut Faciam I'm back biatches!

I thinking about using some birthday money and loan money and take up cycling as a form of exercise and stress relief. I went to a couple of LBS today and these were the options that were available for my budget (< 1k). I know that it would probably be better to pay more now and spend less later upgrading, but I just don't have the cash and don't know if this is something I'll take up seriously. I've also looked online and it seems that under this price range everything is about the same, but what do I know! Other than making sure it's comfortable, any suggestions? Like I said, I'm not looking to start racing or go hard core long distances, just ride a few miles during the week. http://www.trekbikes.com/us/en/bikes/road/1_series/15/ http://www.trekbikes.com/us/en/bikes/road/1_series/12/ http://www.specialized.com/bc/SBCBkModel.jsp?spid=38458 http://www.giant-bicycles.com/en-us/bikes/road/2/32193/ BTW, I would much rather spend the money jumping just don't have the time Inveniam Viam aut Faciam I'm back biatches!

I'm currently doing my Ob/Gyn rotation and was on call yesterday. A 7.5 month pregnant woman came in stating that she had stubbed her toe and fallen onto her stomach. As I interviewed her, she denied having any prenatal care, so curious little me asked ..why not? In the best white trash, dirt bag and southern(? weird since I'm in NYC) accent : " I don't go, cause I don't want to hear no heart beat,.. I makes me feel guilllltyyy". So the obvious follow up question: What do you when it moves? " I punch it" This was later followed by a nice 45 year old who has 1 child but has been pregnant 18 times -- 17 elective abortions-- and you guessed it, she is pregnant again, number 19. God, I LOVE the ER!! Inveniam Viam aut Faciam I'm back biatches!

So I'm here in this frozen land for the next 6 weeks. Just found out my rotation is very laid back, so I should definitely have some to go out and get to know the city. Any suggestions? If anybody would like to go out and hang out. Let me know BTW, I'm just north of the loop on Division/Lasalle Inveniam Viam aut Faciam I'm back biatches!

Ahh yes the 6 weeks It will start on the 22 of Dec. to the end of Jan. It doesn't leave me a lot of time to search. Its at a very crappy time. I think I'm going up there in the beginning of next week and hit the streets Inveniam Viam aut Faciam I'm back biatches!

Thanks That is exactly the kinda of info I'm looking for. I'll have a car so it it would have to be a place that is easily accessible to highways. Thanks again Inveniam Viam aut Faciam I'm back biatches!

I have a 6 week rotation in Chicago and need some suggestions on areas to look for housing. I'll spend 3 weeks at Jackson Park Hospital in the Jackson park area (obviously) and 3 weeks in Buffalo Grove (about 30 miles away from the hosp) I've never been in the Chicago area so I know nothing about it. Thanks for the help Inveniam Viam aut Faciam I'm back biatches!

Would you mention that you are a skydiver?
Superman32 replied to Superman32's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
The update: I was interviewing for med school at the time. I did not have skydiving mentioned on paper but did talk about it during the interviews. Skydiving needs to be brought up under the right light, where you can explain why it is a positive thing. I'll soon be applying for an Emergency Medicine residency and you can bet the barn I'm mentioning it during the interview and on paper. ER Doc's are kinda different than most Inveniam Viam aut Faciam I'm back biatches! -
