I was hired by Rook the owner last season, and he did not even know me if I may add (thought that was pretty sweet). I went there without knowing anyone and was welcomed with open arms. I worked groundscrew to start. While there I got my coach and tandem rating, and did over 100 tandems in my first month working as an instructor. Everyone there is very knowledgeable and will help absolutely anyone. The otters and the pilots are world class, doing 15 min turns. They also just got a caravan, that should be nice on slower days. Rook and everyone there try to give the biggest and best playground for all skydivers to come and have a blast. I have been to a few dz's and this is a very smooth operating dz with world class planes, facilities, instructors, etc. So thank you to everyone there: Rook Nelson, David Elliot, Steve Verner, Groundscrew, and everybody I missed sorry but I could go on for a long time (and my hands are tired from typing). I really feel at home here and love the fact that Rook and all of team mandrin, and any other of the most knowledgable people in the game are there to answer any question I or anyone else has. this has been discussed before. I don't pack for anyone but myself, so it doesn't really matter to me. I have seen answers this time and last time from one end to the other. They all are somewhat right, and of course some wrong ones in there too. I believe in free markets so the rigger can charge what ever they want. Obviously they must be careful, and not piss people off by outrageous raises in price. People will find someone who will do it cheaper if they do. Once again I do not pack for anyone so I really don't care what others do, but if it were me I would raise maybe five dollars and maybe a year or two later raise five again. People are less likely to resent you for the raises if it is done gradually. I have no problem paying a decent price for anything becasue business is business. When it is done in a decieving way or outrageous price hikes people will resent you and will find alternate ways to get the product cheaper. don't try your bullshit with me!!!

I do not think that they are unnecessary. I have seen the riser covers open on a few javelins before. Why do they not have a similar design to a vector 3, mirage or infinity. I feel that they are behind the curve for the following: no secondary riser covers, main flap is not tight and flops loose quite a bit, even if fitted w the correct main. I think that these are standard features nowadays and they are missing out. I sold my javelin because I did not feel safe with mine due to what was stated above. don't try your bullshit with me!!!

the pilot should go around, but if he dosen't it is up to you I would have prob just pulled a little high. I would definitely talk to them to get that changed though. Landing in vineyards does not sound fun, and it is your skydive and you paid for it soooo.... I would talk with them they should not have a problem with hooking the plane around. don't try your bullshit with me!!!

these are the ones that would look at seriously. vector 3, mirage, wings, infinity. I have owned a javelin and quickly swithced to vector 3, jav is NOT a bad rig I just feel that, it is not the best in any sense when compared to these others. don't try your bullshit with me!!!

I have seen this come up a lot. I think that if they would like to jump these high wl then they should be warned, showed the stats, because they seldom lie, and if the dz does not allow them to jump that canopy then they should not jump it or find somwhere where they can. You are right, you can't save everybody from themselves. Outside of that, maybe try to meet in the middle. Maybe say okay if you put such numbers on this wl and maybe some coaching then we can work something out with you jumping that canopy. 1.9 at 200 is retarded I do not agree with that at all and he might be one that you can't save from themself. I just like to keep in mind that we are all on the same team out there, so telling them they will die or seriously injure themself and then turn your back and wait for it to happen is just as stupid as them jumping the canopy in the first place. I think that canopy pilots should go by the stats on their canopy progression. Instead of flaming them when they don't follow it to the letter, maybe educate them, and try to help a little. Keeping in mind were not talking about 1.9 at 200 jumps. If they insist, well at least you tried. This is not directed soley at Spence this is probably a good suggestion for all. don't try your bullshit with me!!!

every voodoo owner I know has never thought of switching, but I myself am a vector man. I can see how the wait can be bs and aggrivating. This is my opinion, v3, mirage, voodoo, wings, infinty. They are all solid rigs, and everyone I have seen that owns them loves them. guess I am just waiting on the bigger optimum or optima reserves whatever you call them to come out. So I do not have to switch containers to have a larger reserve. I can vouch and say that Martin's plane is absolutely safe, but I wonder how safe other's planes REALLY are. Some part of me wants to know and the other part is saying ignorance is bliss.
