My oldest son got the 2007 version. I was thumbing through it. I loved that book as a kid and all the oddities that were brought to life. As I was looking through it, I saw a "record" for Banzai (spelling is correct) skydiving. Basically they throw the parachute out of the airplane, you jump after it and strap it on and hope to God the chute opens. The record for doing this is 50 seconds. Has anyone every heard of this? The record is held by a guy from Japan. He made the jump over Davis California. Man, as some one that once was a DZO, I would have an issue with this. Would you attempt this? Actually, I am looking forward to finding a bargain or two...I saw a nice light weight leather jacket before christmas...have been kicking myself for not buying then and now I am hoping to God that it still is there...if not...it wasn't meant to be I guess. I got my copy for Christmas too! Make sure ya have a box of tissues close by...you will laugh and cry at the same time....My SO bought the book for me 'cause we had a Lab much like the dog in the book. Great book!! If you have a dog, HAD a dog, or are just a dog lover....this is a wonderful book. Better yet..if you have/had a "problem" dog in your life this is a must read. I got a pair of chandelier earrings from my SO's mom that look like fishing hooks. I opened them and she said, "I saw these and thought that if anyone could pull them off, it would be you!"
