Had the interview with the Bn SgtMaj today,, He asked me about a letter in my SRB.. I was non-recked for Corporal and Sgt by the same GySgt.. He asked why? I said... He was an asshole SgtMajor.. Plain and simple.. Good deal he said.. lol Welcome aboard Sgt Cowan! Physical this Saturday then I start drilling with my sniper platoon next weekend... Off to School in July. Word is Iraq in January for 6-7 months... Semper Fi!!!!!

I'm doing it to save lives... My fellow Marines and Soldiers... If my doing this job saves just one fellow service member it will be worth it. I am also doing it because it is the ultimate in self-discipline requiring constant and never ending improvement. I like to be challenged. I love it. This will be the hardest thing I have ever done in my life. Graduating this school would be HUGE.. If I am operating at anything less that 150% I will fail.. Failure isn't an option. I've wanted this for too long and this is my one and only chance. They are Elite. I want to earn the right to be called a Marine Corps Scout Sniper. I want to prove to myself that I can do it. I know that I can. It is something that I have always wanted to accomplish for a number of internal reasons. I could go on about why.. I think I got the point across... Rhino

I support the soldiers that are there very much... Sadham needed to be removed.. I support the cause enough that I am going to scout sniper school in july and quiet possibly Iraq in January.

Thanks all... Luckily I get to train with the unit, get issued a weapon and learn the skills before I even get to the school... First weekend in April I'll be putting on the Ghillie suit for the first time and sneaking around the woods... Fun Fun :) Rhino

DAMN!!! Small snag... School dates are April 2nd to June 15th.. Cutting into my parenting time with Daniel.. I might be able to move the parenting time a bit.... Also have July 16th shipping to school for 9 weeks killing the whole summer... What to do what to do... They have MP school that starts April 4th-June 2nd.. I won't miss any parenting time on that one.. Then their is an Active Reserve Supply Warehouse billet that would have me on active duty for 3 years 30 miles south of my home in Port Huron.. That school starts April 7th-April 26th.. Won't miss any summer time plus I would get out of the piss ass civilian sector for good... I need help here guys.......... I want an AR position.. Supply sucks but it pays the bills... Can't move to another billet for 3 years... Sniper School ships in 10 days... MP school ships in 12 days...

Been talking to the Prior Service Recruiter the last couple of days... Looks like I might have gotten a Scout Sniper Billet here in Michigan with retained rank of SGT.. They ship to Iraq in January. We are working on it now... Anyone think I am nuts? Rhino
