  1. Have you ever been burned? I have. Nothing peaceful about it. It makes NO difference who's property the flag is. It is not peaceful. It is not within the bounds of free speech. What's next?? Are you going to start burning BALD EAGLES alive to exercise your freedom of expression?
  2. Funny. All across the country children are abused and it is allowed. We know second hand smoke is worse than smoking itself yet kids are allowed to be exposed. A 5 year old can't smoke but is allowed by law to breath something worse. Second hand smoke from irresponsible, selfish mommy and daddy. I think parents that smoke in cars or in homes with children are abusers. It should be against the law.. Rhino
  3. How is burning a flag peaceful? Nothing about flag burning is within the right to free speech. Rhino
  4. You still aren't paying attention. I am finished responding to you. We are on different scales.
  5. My bad.. Now we are constituting things.. o.k.
  6. You can draw stars and stripes on the well. That doesn't make it a flag. Your shirt with stars and stripes isn't a "flag". If you don't have the mental capacity to understand this I can't help you..
  7. You can talk about burning the flag all day long.. That's free speech.. Just don't do it..
  8. Let me help all the left wing liberals out here... SPEECH... Where in here does the physical act of burning a flag constitute speech? # address: the act of delivering a formal spoken communication to an audience; "he listened to an address on minor Roman poets" # (language) communication by word of mouth; "his speech was garbled"; "he uttered harsh language"; "he recorded the spoken language of the streets" # something spoken; "he could hear them uttering merry speeches" # the exchange of spoken words; "they were perfectly comfortable together without speech" # manner of speaking: your characteristic style or manner of expressing yourself orally; "his manner of speaking was quite abrupt"; "her speech was barren of southernisms"; "I detected a slight accent in his speech" # lecture: a lengthy rebuke; "a good lecture was my father's idea of discipline"; "the teacher gave him a talking to" # actor's line: words making up the dialogue of a play; "the actor forgot his speech" # language: the mental faculty or power of vocal communication; "language sets homo sapiens apart from all other animals" www.cogsci.princeton.edu/cgi-bin/webwn2.1 # Speech:*(n.) an oral presentation by one person to a group (or sometimes just an individual); closely related terms include: *Conversation (infomal speech by more than one person on a topic), *Debate (formal communication between two groups holding opposing views vefore an audience), and *the academic discipline of communications.*(v.) the act of producing voice through the use of the vocal cords or other means, such as sign language, to create linguistic acts that communicate information from a en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Speech
  9. Only you could and would make this comparison..
  10. Freedom with standards and boundaries.. Freedom with honor and respect.
  11. REALLY? So what you are saying is that abolishing slavery was bad? What about women voting? After all.. People thought they had the freedom to own slaves. People thought they had the freedom to keep women from voting.
  12. Can you read? Re-read my statement that you posted.
  13. Burning an old tattered flag is legal. fine. Burning a (new) flag to make a statement should in my opinion be illegal. Wearing flag pants? Shirts? whatever has nothing to do with burning the flag.
  14. You've read this code? Please share with us... It is about BURNING the flag. People in here sure do have focus problems.
  15. I guess it is easier for you to make excuses than to move. Alot less work.
  16. Well.. Abortion is currently that way now as well. Laws change. Slavery use to be legal. It isn't anymore..
  17. Common standard that is getting people and our country in hot water.
  18. So you are personally attacking those of us that are against flag burning?
  19. Ask Rich's son what the flag means to him. I am saying as a country we need a standard. And allowing our countries symbol to be burned at will so a bunch of pansies can feel like they are exercising free speech is in the wrong. We need to raise that standard immediately.
  20. Bingo... I completely agree.. Love it or get the fuck out.
  21. Call it what you want. Word it how you wish. I sincerely hope this bill passes. Free speech as everyone calls it has fucked this country. As a country we have no integrity. Everyone thinks they have the right to know everything. They don't. Everyone thinks they should be able to run their sucks with out consequence. Call it what you will... Burning the flag to exercise your free speech should be against the law. I hope it passes. Rhino
