  1. Yep.. Thanks bro.. Angel was with me.. If ANYTHING was incorrectly done on that rig it would not have held.. That chest strap and those hip rings took a serious pounding on that one.. Rhino
  2. No joke man... Check this out.. I am gathering by what happened I had a possible line dump? Left side of the canopy opened first, wrenching me into the right hip ring as my left side was torn up.. attached.. Rhino
  3. Damnit.. I just bought my wings and have to get it checked...
  4. No I wouldn't.. lol I've jumped my xf2 at that loading.. I simply don't want to.. I like the combination of air time/performance/dive/everything at the wing loading I am at on the canopy I am flying.. I've got an infinite amount to learn on my xf2 for now.. lol Rhino
  5. Thanks again for everything God!! Thank you for my new son!!! Rhino
  6. I myself went to a crossbraced canopy. I bought a brand new Xaos21 98sqft at 1.85. Canopy I jumped before that was a Diablo110. So I was use to INSTANT reaction from the canopy when I touched a toggle. The Diablo was insanely fast turning and diving. Jumped on the Xaos and it felt like a boat. Turned slow, front riser pressure was heavy, and it took alot of toggle pressure to maneuver the canopy the way I was use to. Now.. There was nothing wrong with the Xaos. The flight characteristics at that wing loading simply weren't what I was looking for. Got a new Crossfire2, 97sqft. The crossfire2 at the same loading outperforms the Xaos in EVERY aspect of flight BUT bottom end. At that wing loading. Unless I "Someday WAAAY in the future" can find a crossbraced canopy that can turn as fast, dive as hard as the crossfire2 or Diablo I might never go back to crossbraced. I likely wasn't loading the Xaos enough. I am simply not willing to go to 2.2+ at the moment.. Rhino
  7. Deal.. I've done it before and had great openings.. This simply put an end to it.. That's all Rhino

    I respectfully disagree!!
  10. Jumped last weekend.. Did one of those throw it in the bag at the end of the night deals. Knew it was a sloppy pack job.. Went out this morning KNOWING it was a sloppy pack job.. Talked to my buddies jokingly about watching my main if I cut away due to sloppy pack job.. Original plan was a subterminal opening at altitude and to play all the way down. Deviated from the plan going out with the 2 way to play around.. Got to 7 grand and dumped.. WACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This was BY FAR the hardest opening I have ever had. Immediately after the WACK as I was shaking it off my canopy was twisting up and beginning to spiral towards the ground at a very high rate of speed. Went into 5 line twists before I reached up and stopped it from going any further. There I was, back to earth. Already had cut away in the back of my head. I reached for the cut away handle and hesitated. Remembering I was still pretty high. I glanced at my altimiter still being at 5.5k and went to work. Suprisingly I got myself out of the line twists rather quickly. Took a breath, looked up to make sure nothing was broken. Released the brakes and did a controlability check. I was sure SOMETHING had to have broke but nothing did. Did a detailed line and canopy inspection when I got to the ground and everything is fine. Lesson learned.. I won't jump another packjob that I know was slop on my part. Made one more jump after that and something unfamiliar happened. I initiated my hook around 550 feet. Only I usually feel pressure on the front risers, this time NOTHING. In the back of my head I was feeling and thinking collapse. I did go into the hook immediately from brakes? So I don't know if that is why I felt nothing on the front risers? It was weird. It did dive quiet a bit more than usual. I had to literally let up on the fronts to hit my swoop lane. I probably could have turned in at 650?? Maybe I just learned something? Maybe something got a little tweaked from the hard opening? Not sure.. I'll have to do some more playing around up high to make sure it is acting the same?.. Now I am home and my body is starting to ache.. lol What a day.. Rhino

Chin up bro.. That is what family is for I pre-paid for 10 tickets. Money is tight as I haven't started the new job yet but I'll spot you at least 2 jump tickets
