lol, and you could take it out for parades too... as long as you have a chase vehicle with a team of mechanics following behind. Every year on the way to Aspencade my friends and I play "count the dead Harleys" on the mountain road that leads to Ruidoso. Lowest year:3 highest:12 NSCR-2376, SCR-15080

If Harley-Davidson made an airplane, would you fly in it? NSCR-2376, SCR-15080

Here's one for you: The only time I ever ran out of gas was on my Ducati 900SS which had no petcock, or fuel gauge, and only a "reserve light" to tell you when you had about 1.5 gallons left. Well, Murphy kicked my ass the day the "idiot light" burned out and I ran the tank dry. It was really fun pushing the bike about a mile or so uphill off the freeway to the closest gas station. Older Italian bikes and their electrical gremlins are a PITA! That was the one and only time I ran ANY vehicle out of gas. NSCR-2376, SCR-15080

SpyBot search and destroy... try that, works good too! NSCR-2376, SCR-15080 -
lol, I was happy when I sold my Ducati 900SS, no more carburetors for me! My current Ducati and my BMW both have FI so no more petcocks or choke for me, woohoo!!! NSCR-2376, SCR-15080

In over a decade and half-a-dozen motorcycles I have never had these problems manifest themselves... sounds like "Harley-like" problems to me. NSCR-2376, SCR-15080

bwaaa ha ha ha!!! Other than the above mentioned reason it is a LOT more dangerous to have your bike possibly die abruptly in a bad spot, e.g. a full-lean in a high-speed corner or the middle of an intersection at rush hour. You might want to reconsider your procedure. Unless you are going to remove the gas tank or store the bike there is no reason to shut it off. NSCR-2376, SCR-15080

I might be a little late but it is better to do a "full" backup with the "system state" than trying to swag it manually... that way you KNOW you can restore safely to a predetermined state... you can also turn on "System Restore" but I never trust that feature to "go it alone" without a full backup to disk or tape. Good luck! edit: typos NSCR-2376, SCR-15080

lol, this thread has gone from people bitching about drug use to instructional... BTW anyone know how to best smuggle pot through airport checkpoints??? j/k NSCR-2376, SCR-15080

You can always install it, watch the video, and then uninstall it... the only reason I have it on this computer was so I could watch that moron Lutz... NSCR-2376, SCR-15080

I'd also skip RealPlayer if possible... it likes to "call home" everytime you use it. Personally I don't like that "feature". I have it on some of my computers but remove the auto-start "feature" from the registry manually. NSCR-2376, SCR-15080

I tend to slide in automatically on my left outside thigh and hip... many years of motorcycling, hockey, and martial arts have built up a muscle memory that is hard to overcome (and sometimes ruins what should have been an otherwise graceful landing). If I was sinking from a too-high flare I would definately concentrate on PLF'ing. My $0.02. NSCR-2376, SCR-15080

Don't forget that skydiving is a physical activity and as such you should thoroughly stretch before you do it. When I first started AFF my lower back was sore after only a couple jumps each day... probably due to the fact I was using muscles that were previously just along for the ride. Talk to your doctor of course, but it is probably just a strain. Stretching and working out will make you a bit more resilient to minor muscles aches and pain, just like any sport. I like the writeup on the Icarus website... I have only jumped canopies in the Class 1-3 range but was most happy with w/l in the ~1.1:1 range because they had better penetration into the wind amongst other things. The range of opinions on canopy sizing is staggering to say the least! http://www.icaruscanopies.com/choosing.htm NSCR-2376, SCR-15080

ditto... Main Entry: drug Pronunciation: 'dr&g Function: noun Etymology: Middle English drogge 1 a obsolete : a substance used in dyeing or chemical operations b : a substance used as a medication or in the preparation of medication c according to the Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act (1) : a substance recognized in an official pharmacopoeia or formulary (2) : a substance intended for use in the diagnosis, cure, mitigation, treatment, or prevention of disease (3) : a substance other than food intended to affect the structure or function of the body (4) : a substance intended for use as a component of a medicine but not a device or a component, part, or accessory of a device 2 : a commodity that is not salable or for which there is no demand -- used in the phrase drug on the market 3 : something and often an illegal substance that causes addiction, habituation, or a marked change in consciousness. Personally I don't care if people blaze up on their personal time or drink themselves into a stupor, hopefully they won't board the plane in an impared condition... if I saw someone obviously toasted on the plane I would be more than happy to exit last and do a nice solo tracking dive. I have to agree with you there... I don't have a problem getting on loads or getting tips/coaching from people but females, newly licensed or otherwise, get a lot more attention and "free advice". NSCR-2376, SCR-15080 -

I like to stretch my back in the jacuzzi... preferrably with assistance... Just don't pick up any bad habits by practicing incorrectly, that is, unless you have someone inspecting your "body position" under water. NSCR-2376, SCR-15080 -
Um, my only story is pretty weak by comparison... I had a loop in a brake line wrap around two fingers as I was unstowing my brakes once... ouch! The lines wrapped so tight I couldn't get my fingers out and then they started turning blue... I just took a wrap on the other side so the canopy would fly straight and landed uneventfully with some violent language as the lines finally went slack. I am a LOT more careful when grabbing the toggles now. NSCR-2376, SCR-15080

Like everyone pretty much said... more jumps... It took me about 30 jumps before I started feeling comfortable during the ride to altitude and not stressed. It'll pass. NSCR-2376, SCR-15080

I "dove" out of a C182 for the first time today... left foot on step, left hand on strut, right hand on doorjam... dive head down with chest towards the relative wind. It was fun getting out of such a "tiny" plane... I felt like a student again since there were two static-line progression students on the plane with the jumpmaster and myself and they kept going over spotting and such... I felt all n00byish... Disclaimer: That was not advice or instruction, just my experience NSCR-2376, SCR-15080
