  1. an other thing came to my mind: How about the legal aspects of the jump? I don't know the UK local laws but as far as I know you may not drop heavy objects (includes persons) without parachutes in any ICAO country. If he exits with a parachute and does not pull - wouldn't that call for the BPA to complain? In my eyes the speeds quoted are just not realistic and even if they were you still have to hit the boxes (with the expected low speeds he has a window of unter 2 sec. to hit) and if you hit it - 50mph forward is fast and the wrong direction for the card-box concept... To be honest: I deeply hope this is just a big hoax! For every complex problem there is an answer that is clear, simple, and wrong.
  2. Is there anyone who has the feeling that the speeds mentioned in that article are even close to realistic? For every complex problem there is an answer that is clear, simple, and wrong.
  3. This problem was posted here before (but can't find it now) I have these metal hooks taped since then. For every complex problem there is an answer that is clear, simple, and wrong.
  4. Maybe there is a demo suit that fits you? Check with the demo centers or Robert from Phoenix Fly directly. You might borrow the demo suit for the last few weeks of your trip and if you like it - buy it. Or you order a custom made one after that. But all in all you do have a suit to fly on your trip. If this is not available buying one would still be an option. I never met anyone who disliked the P2 he bought. Third version: 'WickedWingsuits' has a Winguit rental shop. As far as I know he does not have PhoenixFly suits but it could maybe still be an option to rent a Tony Suit there. (I don't know the deals he offers.) So, demo a suit, rent a suit or just buy one. I am sure you will be happy with either of the three ways. (is "either way" correct English here?) Enjoy your trip and don't forget: If it's not on video,... I would be happy if you shared the experience of your trip with some videos or a little blog. For every complex problem there is an answer that is clear, simple, and wrong.
  5. 2nd that! Meeting DSE in Elsinore is for sure a good idea! For every complex problem there is an answer that is clear, simple, and wrong.

  7. I use the mPOD (http://pgasus.be/start.php?pg=text&item=mPOD) and have about 300 jumps on it (all wingsuit). I feel that the time between pull and snivel is shorter and the rest of the opening stays the same. Never had the feeling that there would be a line dump and it opens like a standard bag with perfect elastics - just without the fiddeling with the elastics. :) For every complex problem there is an answer that is clear, simple, and wrong.
  8. Zwartberg is close and there is also a DZ in "Grefrath" (IATA code EDLF). This DZ will be run by the same company as the DZ in Stadtlohn from this year on. And then Marl is close as well. So yes, there are a lot of chances to jump around Düsseldorf! For every complex problem there is an answer that is clear, simple, and wrong.
  9. The other guy's exit that did not hit the tail was not so much better... For every complex problem there is an answer that is clear, simple, and wrong.
  10. I love your photos, nice idea with the skull. :) I also do this kind of 'dive-forward' exits, but do believe that this is an advanced exit technique. You don't only have to have a lot of experience on how the wind in the door effects your suit but you also have to have a good feeling for the setup the plane is in. 11. Thank you for point out that problem again, DSE! Too bad to see that is is necessary. I also noticed that many jumpers to not have a good feeling for the plane's configuration. You can configure a Grand Caravan in so many ways. With 80KT airspeed and flaps one notch down you can still have 2 different configs: One where the plane is flying level supported by the engine and one with less power and a slight loss of altitude during jumprun. If you stand in the door an look at the stabilizer it is faaaar lower if the plane flies level. In a descending configuration there is far less prop wind pushing you back and the stabilizer is much lower. So sure - know your exit technique, but also get to know more about the plane and flying. Talk to the pilot about his configs at the bonfire - you should pay him some beers anyhow after a long day of flying. For every complex problem there is an answer that is clear, simple, and wrong.
  12. @Xander: Same here - ask the people around me how I ask them about colors 10 times a day in the ordering process. I myself am a total color dyslectic (you should see what I wear every day)... For every complex problem there is an answer that is clear, simple, and wrong.
  13. 2 weeker earlier than I expected there was a packet for me waiting in the office. My new Ghost3. My boss was so kind to take some photos... (sorry, no pony or Campos - feel free to edit) For every complex problem there is an answer that is clear, simple, and wrong.
  14. Did anyone take video of that lecture? For every complex problem there is an answer that is clear, simple, and wrong.
  15. flight is booked. I will arrive 8th August 2012 at 11:00 AM and will leave 19th August 2012 at 18:45 How about sharing lifts or rental cars from BUD to Siofok? If you are interested, drop me a line! For every complex problem there is an answer that is clear, simple, and wrong.
  16. I'm in! For every complex problem there is an answer that is clear, simple, and wrong.
  17. Very true! I was on that load and the jumper was still shaking after landing. But he was not the one to fly towards the plane. He was flying straight and the porter pilot buzzed him getting closer every jump... For every complex problem there is an answer that is clear, simple, and wrong.
  18. yes, just the same as bigger cars... For every complex problem there is an answer that is clear, simple, and wrong.
  19. I tuck the stiffener back into the BOC. For skydivers that switch from WS to freefly should add a "status of the stiffener"-check into his "before every jump"-procedures. I also see the problems Jarno stated and will rethink and train my pull sequence. But since I am a fat guy and jump big suits there is a lot of fabric back there. To be honest: There have been jumps where I needed close to 1k ft to get the PC out. And I had these with both configurations of the handle's stiffener. But especially at winter time I prefer to fold the stiffener back into the BOC. For every complex problem there is an answer that is clear, simple, and wrong.
  20. If loading over 1.5 I'd recommend the Storm. I am flying a Sabre2 with about 1.4 and would not want to have it loaded higher. For every complex problem there is an answer that is clear, simple, and wrong.
  21. Hmmmmm, I am going from red/black to orange/White... Wanna trade? ;) For every complex problem there is an answer that is clear, simple, and wrong.
  22. I did it the same way and downsized from a PD 9cell 210sqft to a Sabre2 with 170sqft loading it about the same. Been there, tried it, declared it stupid in my case! Just sprained an ankle that bound me to the ground for 3 weeks. But I could just have been less lucky. I'd say - enjoy a 150 canopy, have fun and don't care about buying a suit now. It will just get older until you can use it. So let it get older in an other guy's attic and buy it a few bucks cheaper next year. ;) For every complex problem there is an answer that is clear, simple, and wrong.
  23. Noooo, I am not so brand-me. Just switched from 'my colors' red-black to orange-white. ...red is not well visible on videos. For every complex problem there is an answer that is clear, simple, and wrong.
  24. One exit is not listed and I prefere that one on FFCs: The student sits in the door slighly sidways with the legs already outside the aircraft and just drops off. A bit like in this picture just with less gay looking googles. ;) For every complex problem there is an answer that is clear, simple, and wrong.
  25. Was the tattoo done by a lady? The picture looks like "girl's left" or did you mirror the picture? But very nice details on the suit, yes. Nice idea! For every complex problem there is an answer that is clear, simple, and wrong.
