  1. Hey Lindsey, I am not expecting for anyone to be infallible or out of error. All of us are as humans can feel, and do feel empathy, but that does not mean that I would contribute $$ for Nambla, or the KKK, because I feel "empathy" that they are being constantly "oppressed". I support the fact they have a right to free speech, and to march and in any town USA. But from that, and let them happily beat or offend me, or someone who I happen to be with me at the supposed time, that's a different story. Some people's actions - creed or advocacy I just can't feel empathy for.
  2. How about this or this how about this one can you hear me now? How about now? Yes, it is all speculation without valid merit.
  3. That's someone whom we can easily have empathy for. The ones who are more difficult are people whom we see as having less integrity(?) or or we see as less human, maybe, because of their situation....I'm not sure. But I think we find it difficult to have empathy for people that we don't relate easily with....whether they be people of different religious or cultural backgrounds, drug addicts, people with mental illness, etc. You are missing over 2/3rds of his life, where he was basically treated as a slave and was exhibited and mistreated. Humanity, it all depends, although some people would argue I see color, which is wrong, I see actions and behaviors. There is a whole lot of assholes out there, and people whose only purpose in life is making you suffer for no reason. Drug addicts for example, I find very untrustworthy, cultural back grounds different is ok for me as long as they treat me with respect. Yet there is a delicate balance as to what some people will hold to be cultural-religion differences, and in reality is just a disguise to dehumanize women children or anyone who is not in agreement with them.
  4. Actually Jan. 6th is just the day that greek orthodox churches celebrate the epiphany. Which could mean christ's nativity or his baptisim. I had always heard that if you look at the accounts of Christ's birth in the bible, it was most likely in the Fall Figures! 9 months after Valentine's day. *ahem* 9 Months? Come on, did you actually do the math Feb 14 + 9 months = - + Nov. 14....
  5. If you think this way, then men should not be accountable for child support. I think this measure also gives men some sort of right and say about his off spring, something that has been long overlooked in the constitution, men's rights when it comes to family issues.
  6. Do a search, and read about Joseph Merrick. It is also very interesting.
  7. You are kidding right? Are you even aware about what is going on in the Catholic church right now? How they have lost the credibility and even members due to their lack of solving and cleaning their own house? If the Catholic church (Today, as in the present not 500 years ago) (hint: you may spin it if you want ) even tried to mock current islamic extremism, they would even loose more members. I don't think there is current comparison. Now, about other groups, don't know. Bottom line is that EVERY HOUSE has dirt. Mainstream teachings and preaching for violence is what really differentiate each one.
  8. The problem is that Islam, like the catholic church, and many religion is polluted. Today a portion of it advocates hate and violence, otherwise they would not have FATWAS=Religious edicts to that effect.
  9. Well you owe for your first thread, and also you missed the "I will outrun the felons" option. Seems like all antigunners are really track runners. Good post.
  10. It's a free counry, you get what you want, or can buy
  11. Do you want to play tic-tac-toc How about a nice game of chess? Yes, whatever it is as long as it is not scrabble
  12. Because is asking for a Doctor to kill a person that is not terminally ill. Maybe not endanger, but will definitely change the Doctor's career.
  13. Your such a cunning linguist. Another veiled way to claim that anyone who actually signed up is dumb, unlike you..
  14. Nah, it's more important to take things out of context, make sure all insurgents killed are named "innocent civilians", and spin things and make us look like we are trained with the objective, and sole purpose to kill everything that moves and is not part of the coalition. Gawain, just keep your bubble clear and be on your toes (trust you guts) no matter where you are located. Good luck!
  15. That's primarily because a couple dozen Palestinians were killed in the blasts too. Yes, Jordan is in a position to reexamine some of the Iraqi exiles living there too. Come on gang, Arabs killing Arabs is just now making news to them? Yes, sasly but yes. Edited for spelling
  16. It seems that your comments are really based in fiction, too much absinthe, or who knows where on earth is your rosy point of view. Apparently you are not aware that many people have said really stupid factless statements about Bush, and yet, we have to see one to be sent to jail or sued. Take for example Dan Rather and CBS news reports about the fake GWB military Chief letters. Of course, you may agree to disagree, but apparently history avoids your negligent account, and trying to imply that GWB elections are equal to Franco's (no so bad according to you) dictatorship obtained by a brutal and represive civil war/coup-de-tat is simply ridiculous and looming in the area of lack of comprehension, which can definitely be explained by your hatred to anything US. In here, you can say anything you want about GWB, even go to his Ranch in TX and protest against him and call him whatever name you would like, you may want to ask Bill Maher, Alec Baldwin, Whoopi Goldberg if you can get away with it. Your very simplistic history of events about how Franco gets into power, leaves off so many things not mentioned, but not surprised you have not read about the "generalisimo" yourself. Here are a few pearls about his time in power: 1) Slashed the "Segunda Republica" to a complete stop, voiding the constitution, elections, and basically anything he, and mostly he, deemed necessary to mantain power. 2) His buddies Hitler, & Benito, helped him materially(legion Condor & Corpo Truppe Volontarie), financially to achieve his goals. 3) He supressed violently (Yes, with the use of violence) freedom of expresion, just like they have in Cuba. That meant anything said true or not was heavily sanctioned. Go ahead, whatever you say about him being the same than an elected president in the US. We understand that hate definitely blinds perception.
  17. Which Coca Cola also bottles and sells. The absolute cheek of those bastards. And they play the random numbers game too. They told me $3.25 please!!!!
  18. And you should then stop jumping as this a waste of time, burns fuels and is not providing a useful service to human cause
  19. Very simple, lets say for each gallon of gas the actual refinery process is 50cts the rest of it is the cost of crude oil 47cts, which has fluctuated a lot recently. Still a lot cheaper than selling 250ml of water (which sometimes even costs $3.00 in a stadium)
  20. Let me understand you, (as your post is really confusing),are you saying that if you insult the US president you end up in Guantanamo?. Better read the US press, and see the cartoons published, you are pretty free to divulge to ANYONE your disent with government. Maybe this is new for you, but if you actually seen any of M. Moron movies, you will find it that pretty much you can say anything you want against the US pres, as long as is not a physical threat off course, but I would assume that would escape your comprehension capabilities. Any one there goes to jain officially, and in "reality" as well. What does this have to do me being in Spain or not? I was there for about a month, about 3 months ago. In Rota. Still it is a disgrace that someone will get sent to jail for INSULTING a public official, and to make matters worse, is a figure with almost no or very little power.
  21. Really? So he was democratic? Or you are a little confused in regards to what a dictatorship means.? You don't see it, but enforcing laws that won't allow you to speak publicly, and indiscriminately against any public official is not exactly democracy and more in tune with what a dictator would do. Would you be ok if you come to the US and get arrested for insulting Bush?
