Do you know where I can get one of these in 220V "My belief is that once the doctor whacks you on the butt, all guarantees are off" Jerry Baumchen
  2. True http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4tF6iXI70-Y&feature=player_embedded I saw this video a few hours ago.... "My belief is that once the doctor whacks you on the butt, all guarantees are off" Jerry Baumchen
  3. Yes. Reserve canopy called "Transfair" (from PdF)doesn't have them at all. Speed 2000 from Paratec (also reserve) doesn't have crossports on the center cell (2 loaded and 1 non loaded rib). Raven reserve from Precision doesn't have them on the midle non loaded rib. VTC 2 360 (tandem reserve) from RWS/UPT doesn't have them on the middle 3 cells. This is from my memory . 4. I'm not really sure that you can choose SS grommets for PDR. "My belief is that once the doctor whacks you on the butt, all guarantees are off" Jerry Baumchen
  5. Sure...every jumper should be able to do that. I hope you see the difference between REPLACE and REASSEMBLE. Show me one manual where the manufacturer requires REPLACING the handle! As already Shlomo said, the cutaway handles are not build "ONE SIZE FITS ALL" Show me where I said that the jumper "should not be allowed"! Like it or not, my statement stays....Replacing parts is a riggers job. Blue skies "My belief is that once the doctor whacks you on the butt, all guarantees are off" Jerry Baumchen
  6. The average jumper should be a rigger. Learning everything about their gear like their life depended on it. take care, space I agree with you. The average jumper should know a lot more than what he knows now. Because now he know 10 ways to mount a Gopro, but he can't do a decent gear check. Blue skies "My belief is that once the doctor whacks you on the butt, all guarantees are off" Jerry Baumchen
  7. Hahah....OK, "line yard" should be a "lanyard". Are you happy now As for give me a break.....How did you manage to put "users" and "reading the manual" in one sentence "My belief is that once the doctor whacks you on the butt, all guarantees are off" Jerry Baumchen
  8. Is that what you need? "My belief is that once the doctor whacks you on the butt, all guarantees are off" Jerry Baumchen
  9. It seems that Mr. Booth changed his mind. This is from UPT site :"As of September 2010, all Sigma II 370 and 340 tandem canopies will come standard with Vectran linesets Blue skies "My belief is that once the doctor whacks you on the butt, all guarantees are off" Jerry Baumchen
  10. Usually you are giving a good advises, but this is not the case now. Never tell a jumper that he can do these stuff himself. There are way too many stuff that can go wrong by doing simple task like release handle switching. What if the other handle he has is build for another type or size rig. Let say...it releases first the RSL side riser?! And what if he has a Skyhook and he doesn't run the left side cable trough the line yard?! Trust me, I've seen this way too many times. The average jumper should stick to replacing rubberbands and closing loops. Blue skies "My belief is that once the doctor whacks you on the butt, all guarantees are off" Jerry Baumchen
  11. Where you can find CYPRES cutter for 66 $ ? "My belief is that once the doctor whacks you on the butt, all guarantees are off" Jerry Baumchen
  12. I don't know if someone already posted it,but if not..... "My belief is that once the doctor whacks you on the butt, all guarantees are off" Jerry Baumchen
  13. I'm not trying to "get" anyone Paul. I'm just trying to be as objective as possible. I don't work for any AAD manufacturer, and I'm not sponsored from any of them. I'm just a rigger who is doing his best to stay updated with the latest information. Blue skies "My belief is that once the doctor whacks you on the butt, all guarantees are off" Jerry Baumchen
  14. No, It was not. According to this service bulletin, the cutter was good to go. The rig was Dolphin and the cutter is bellow the freebag. Or, maybe I'm wrong and missed some additional SB among the whole mess "My belief is that once the doctor whacks you on the butt, all guarantees are off" Jerry Baumchen
  15. Hahahahaha I wanna join the same school "My belief is that once the doctor whacks you on the butt, all guarantees are off" Jerry Baumchen
  16. If you want to skydive, buy your own gear, regardless of the jumps you gonna make per year. It's not smart to be a skydiver with only 20 jumps per year. You can,but you will not be current and you will add more risk. Your own gear means, the same canopy every jump. The same handle location. You can decide to go to a boogie the last second without worrying from where you gonna find a gear. And at last ,you will be the one to chose your own rigger. Someone you trust. 17. It's a cool solution for a color blind student "My belief is that once the doctor whacks you on the butt, all guarantees are off" Jerry Baumchen
  18. Thank you ALL for the provided info. Cheers It seems that I have to buy a lottery ticket more often @ Jerry and the rest of the testing crew.....The women are hot and the beer is ALWAYS cold....are you guys coming? 19. Let say, you have a new product and you want to apply for TSO. How deep your pocket must be??? And what is the most expensive part of the process, the drop testing or all the paperwork BS's Blue skies "My belief is that once the doctor whacks you on the butt, all guarantees are off" Jerry Baumchen
  20. Speed 150. I'm not looking at the PIA chart, I'm talking from my personal experience. "My belief is that once the doctor whacks you on the butt, all guarantees are off" Jerry Baumchen
  21. So the question should be : "Are there any low volume reserves from US factories besides Optimum"? I will choose Speed over Optimum every day of the week. Lower price, longer on the market, build in Germany, packs smaller, flare better..... That's my opinion .....But maybe because I'm from Europe Note: Packing volume on the reserves may vary up to 5-10 % between 2 identical canopies. So it's possible that the Speed I compered to Optimum was just on the lower side of those 10 % ,and the Optimum was on the bigger side. To OP...As Pchapman said, if you are from US, you should go for Optimum. edited for spelling "My belief is that once the doctor whacks you on the butt, all guarantees are off" Jerry Baumchen
  22. Based on what you think that Optimum is the best? "My belief is that once the doctor whacks you on the butt, all guarantees are off" Jerry Baumchen
  23. X-Fast, Basik Air "My belief is that once the doctor whacks you on the butt, all guarantees are off" Jerry Baumchen
  24. I voted for "No, The manufacturers should fix their problems & meet the requirements of the TSO" No AAD should compensate the poor rig design....Period. If you gonna pay 2K + dollars for a H&C, the rig MUST be AAD activation friendly. Blue skies, skydive hard and DON"T wait for your AAD to save your A$$ "My belief is that once the doctor whacks you on the butt, all guarantees are off" Jerry Baumchen
