  1. I can't read what the attachment says ( to small ) can you let us know?
  2. cause it's drizzle and 400 foot cielings?
  3. Shawn, I don't think this post has to do with why we are over there. We are there and the safety and safe return of our troopers is what matters now. LTC West should not be prosecuted for what he did. Was it right? Probably not, but it got what he wanted accomplished. Some of our soldiers didn't die because of the colonels actions. I'm an in country veteran of our least popular (and the only one we lost) war. Things were very politically incorrect way back then. The VC and NVA used to get a one way ride up in a slick and if they got talkative, they got a R/T ticket. Now that was wrong! (still, it accomplished some goals) And I thank God that I wasn't one of the particpants in any of those chopper rides.
  4. Tons of "Soggy" vibes from the pacific northwest......Hope all turns out well
  5. Oh my! you didn't spell "seams" right! bad teacher! Lots of "deep thoughts" in this thread huh? I'm going to turn 50 in January. I have four kids and two granddaughters, had a wife and have a couple dogs...... Still don't have a clue as to the purpose of life/why am I here thing.... Maybe "keeper of the Pugs" ?
  6. Looks like the prez is hogging up all the food! no need to enter the liberal/conservative, democrat/republican arena here, no one is going to change their opinion about this trip, but for me, the prez rules!

  14. my reason why has alredy been answered by Quade. It would be a terrible black eye for the sport if a 10 year old went in. As for judging anyone that lets kids jump, I'm not. I'm just stating a personal opinion. I personally would not let my younger kids jump even if they could (My older two each got a tandem when they turned 18). Sorry if you think I'm trying to stir up some shit, it wasn't my intent. Mike
  15. I don't think that kids should jump, just my opinion

  17. Ivan, I sense that you were unhappy with the movie? At least it was a little better than "reloaded"
  18. is it just me or was that just plain dumb? I didn't laugh (but got a lot of laughs from that link to the "bar jokes"
  19. I don't know where all these people with their rosy aviation maintenance employment prospects have gotten their information. Aviation maintenance is NOT the field to get into now. There are many, many unemployed A&P's out there. The whole industry (airlines, corporate, FBO's et al) has gone down the shitter since Sept 11, 2001. A good magazine that I subscribe to (Aviation Maintenance Technology) used to have 4-6 pages of help wanted ads, now has maybe 2 or 3 jobs listed (not pages of jobs). I feel very fortunate being employed where I am (lead tech in Portland, OR for a company that flys/maintains a fleet of F-27's and Cessna Caravans for a big freight company). I am paid well and work for a very stable company. I've been working as a licensed A&P for 22 years and had military aviation maintenance experience prior to getting my A&P. I have a lot of A&P's seeking a job contacting me and there are no jobs available. Aircraft mechanics have always been underpaid compared to say, dealer automobile mechanics. Beginning mechanics work for peanuts and usually night shift. And of course there is the old catch 22, no jobs without experience (and no way to get experience without a job). If you are mechanically inclined and want to work in that field, go to automobile maintenance. You will make better money, work better hours and have lots of job prospects. Sorry if this response has rained on your parade, but it is the way things are right now. Mike
  20. Damn Bill, this is getting scary......I've been agreeing with a lot of your posts lately.....
