taking off my jumpers hat you can understand why she did it,but then putting my hat back on then she doesnt/didnt get why Terry was there in the first place, like most people who look at what we do. interesting point about the damage done being linked to the generation/time in sport of the jumpers involved...we have an "instructor" here in the UK who was taught by someone with little or no ethics andafter questioning his students it seems he too is now passing on that wisdom. a point to ponder though is can all the experienced jumpers out there say with hand on heart that when they were on the "get as many jumps in as possible" rung of the ladder that they were completely ethical? i know i cant. http://www.extreme-on-demand.com

CRW is all about putting a large 7 cell (or it was a few yaers ago) into an nch perfect spot, using front and rear risers to effect this as well as sometimes toggle turns...its also about flying close to something,in turbulent air and with a need for heightened reaction times (ask anyone whos been in a wrap) and finally about spacial awareness...this helps when you are landing at the bottom of an object with no toggles into a tight landing area as one of many example cases...any crw dogs want to add any more? http://www.extreme-on-demand.com

at long last this place is getting interesting...hey Tom...the reason for the x number of skydive issue is plain and simple...you cant BASE jump without canopy skills (well i guess you can but i hope you a)dont or b) survive uninjured long enough to learn said skills). i would like to say im not a mentor, instructor, teacher, jedi knight or water walking son of god but if i were the qualities you have listed are there or there abouts...i would like to see them make a will, talk to their folks/friends/loved ones,be as clued up as they could possibly be and then start down the long and rocky road with a course of instuction in the states...the reason for this?Aside from the fact that the manufacturers are at the cutting edge of the technology and are the butt end of customer feedback taking a course in the states costs a lot of money and will for the less serious of the potential jumper out there be too big a hurdle to jump.... Aside from the normal reasons for trying to make people think before they start there is a second but darker reason..BASE jumping here in England/UK is getting to critical mass and to be honest i am not alone in thinking fook it...we dont need any more jumpers....its limited resources here...you want to join my club then earn your spurs buddy...anybody else feel like this?? http://www.extreme-on-demand.com

With hindsight of what you know, who you know and the way you think things are going/should be going in the sport please feel free to post. http://www.extreme-on-demand.com

Do 500 jumps with a lot on a 7 cell canopy (more than 200 square feet)...read the articles....then read this [url]http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?do=post_view_flat;post=1512703;page=6;sb=post_latest_reply;so=ASC;mh=25; then meet some jumpers...then buy a lot of beer..then go see and help out on some jumps...then make a will then if you are still up for it go get on a course...oh yeah then stay alive. http://www.extreme-on-demand.com

leave it up...i for one have seen a change in the sport in five years...its now TOO accessible (yeah im selfish)..also the hurdles that made you think long and hard about getting into it arent as visible as they were so, your average 150 jump dickhead from the dropzone can get on a course then hey presto hes a BASE jumper day blazing the objects in your locale (already happening here in england)...leave the list up and raise the jump number threshold to 500 jumps ,show them the death video as a mandatory experience to go through before they get accepted on a course..maybe we should make them talk to mates of Slims,Niks,DW,Duane Thomas,Jason F and the rest of the 86 before they even get a look in...i dont know..but for one thing leaving the list up is a good place to start... http://www.extreme-on-demand.com

Fly into London first mate...there are plenty of jumpers here and we also have a secret weapon www.ryanair.com which should help you to get around...we have a few jumpers heading to the heli boogie too so it could be a good place to start... best of luck Sean http://www.extreme-on-demand.com

is that all? so in theory someone with 150 skydives and 30-40 jumps from the potato bridge is experienced enough to jump there? i know this is an extreme case of what could be but given the jump number minimums for a manufacturers course its possible.....what a fookin scary thought!! http://www.extreme-on-demand.com

sounds like another case of confusing ambition with ability.think im gonna go steal me a jet fighter and take it for a spin...cant fly for shit but how hard can it be? http://www.extreme-on-demand.com

ive walked away from more jumps than ive done.... http://www.extreme-on-demand.com

so...you and your crew are off to the local...en route you spot another solo jumpers car parked nearby well before sunset...you then find out that said jumper knew you were headed that way and told another of your party that he would jump elsewhere only to find him already at the top of the object you were planning to jump...is it me or does that really suck...based on the fact that hes not a local,he could have given us prior warning etc etc etc....thoughts please http://www.extreme-on-demand.com

Rumour control told me yesterday that there has been a bust at a big mast in the midlands...apparently the jumpers in question were caught by site staff and threatened with police action if caught again...the rumour is they jumped it in broad daylight with workers still on site...this site is jumped by not only the alleged daylight jumpers so watch your step when you look to jump there in the future..this is all second hand knowledge so it may have elements of mistruth but it warrants a word to the sensible to save them getting busted as a result of the other peoples (rumoured)less than ethical actions... http://www.extreme-on-demand.com

he almost had his tree landing number...i think the only one he needed was the A..i did a linked two way with him from one of the high bridges in southern france after which he landed in a very tall tree...whilst shimmying down he put his foot in a bee's nest which added injury to the insult...eventually needing some treatment to the stings on his head and a tree surgeon to retrieve the canopy...one of a long line of tales that made us all laugh over the years that we hung out...the guy was a rock star and will be sadly missed http://www.extreme-on-demand.com
