Keep in wind that de-arching doesn't all ways work. Sunday I did a de-arched jump with four free fall computers and they averaged out to 172 mph with no computer varying more than 2 mph from the average. -Blind "If you end up in an alligator's jaws, naked, you probably did something to deserve it."

Lets start a discussion about Twin Otters

Two? I thought one of went in at Yuma in late 2001 or maybe early 2002. I remember hearing about it when I was in rigging school. -Blind "If you end up in an alligator's jaws, naked, you probably did something to deserve it." -

Odd question, What's the best Elvis wedding chapel in Vegas?

Well since I'm a "redskin", I'd expect my neck to be red too. FWIW, I'd rather do a medieval one, but they say the wedding for the girl. -Blind "If you end up in an alligator's jaws, naked, you probably did something to deserve it." -
Odd question, What's the best Elvis wedding chapel in Vegas?
BlindBrick replied to BlindBrick's topic in The Bonfire
Relations between the my son's mom and me seem to be on the upswing. We are supposed to take a trip to Vegas in early April. I know she's always wanted to be married by Elvis, so I figured it might be wise to figure out what's good and how much I'm going to have to put aside in case we go that route. Any suggestions? -blind "If you end up in an alligator's jaws, naked, you probably did something to deserve it." -

The "make my day" law only applies if you have reason to feel threatened. Someone running away with your valuables would probably not be ok, unless it was something essential like medicines or an medical oxygen tank. In a perfect world, it would be left at that. Unfortunately, OK is largely rural with response time from law enforcement measured in 10's of minutes. Because of that, and the unpredictability of someone willing to break into an occupied house, it's not uncommon for rural law enforcement to tell people to shoot an intruder and then drop an untraceable knife (like a boxcutter) next to the intruder's body. As for using a gun. About ten years ago, some in-laws had a falling out with my parents. Things escalated to the point that they killed one of my parents' dog's and hung it from a tree in the drive. My dad wroked nights, and my mom asked me to come watch over the place while he was at work. About three in the morning, I heard some rustling around outside. I went to investigate and saw some bushes moving around. I shined my light on the bushes and ordered whoever it was to come out. I heard sounds of running and by that and the way the bushes were rattling, I could tell that I was being rushed. Things happened very quickly then. I drew and layed my shooting wrist over the wrist with the light. I then flicked off the safety, moved my trigger finger from the side of the gun, onto the trigger and began to tighten. Thankfully my gun has a long pull, and I had time to realize that I was being charged by a hungry calf rather than a person. Makes for an amusing story, but it did confirm to me that I could pull the trigger if the time came. -Blind "If you end up in an alligator's jaws, naked, you probably did something to deserve it."

I pro-pack my Safire 2 and do not have trouble unless I get sloppy. Personally, I think the psycho-pack is better when the canopy is new, I just get in a hurry and revert back to what I am proficient with. -Blind "If you end up in an alligator's jaws, naked, you probably did something to deserve it."

Hey guys, What's the name of the band that does the cover of "Nothing Else Matters" by Metallica. It's a string arrangement. -blind "If you end up in an alligator's jaws, naked, you probably did something to deserve it."

Well they don't call it a "seven year" college for nothing. Actually, I work for the school as an Assistant Residece Director too, and I can tell you that this year our freshmen admissions are down by a significant percentage because of the new tougher admissions standards we have in place. -Blind "If you end up in an alligator's jaws, naked, you probably did something to deserve it."

We beat them, it was their own home coming and we beat them there. Yeah, but if you can't beat OSU, who can you beat? That's what makes it so damn embarrasing when they give OU a close game or actually beat them. I'm sure there's worse teams in the NCAA, but right now the only one that comes to mind is University of Tulsa. -Blind "If you end up in an alligator's jaws, naked, you probably did something to deserve it."

Bow chicka bow bow That's why I got rid of the Wah pedal for my guitar. When I was messing with it, I had trouble deciding which "instrument" I wanted to play with. -Blind "If you end up in an alligator's jaws, naked, you probably did something to deserve it."

which perhaps wont help you much,in the BASE envioment things happens FAST!!! My bad. This summer I asked some BASE guys in FL what I need to do to start getting ready and they told me I needed to be practicing accuracy and low/emergency turn stuff under canopy. I guess I just though tI was working in the right direction. Oh well, even if that's not relavant to BASE at least it helps me be a better skydiver. -Blind "If you end up in an alligator's jaws, naked, you probably did something to deserve it."

So you're gonna post the results to the Gear page, right? Yeah. If this friggin; weather would ever cooperate. I have 5 test jumps planned for tomorrow, but it looks like it'sgoing to be raining. WTF, Moab is in a desert. -Blind "If you end up in an alligator's jaws, naked, you probably did something to deserve it."

DHL really screwed me over. They forgot to pick up my main fromt he dealer and came back the next day to correct the problem. One catch was that they came by during his posted lunchtime. They leave a note sayign they will check back later and then come back by in 10 minutes! The promise to make it right by upgradig the shippign to next day so I have my main for a boogie but then proceed to ship it second day, thus ensuring that I didn't have a rig for the boogie. -Blind "If you end up in an alligator's jaws, naked, you probably did something to deserve it."

Just want to let everyone know that the people at Alti-2 are awesome. In my Science of Peak Sports Performance class we are doing a research project on altimeter error caused by differing body/altimeter positions and flight regimens and I asked the guys at Alti-2 if they could help. I just got done setting up the three Neptunes that they lent us for the experiment. Not only that, but they shipped a ton of free swag with the Neps, arranged for us to get a temporary liscense for the full version of Paralog from Klaus so we could effectively analyze our data, and shipped it all on their own nickle! This generosity has made our lives tremendously easier, and we want to let everyone know how great they've been. We have given them our thanks, but it's nowhere enough. So next time you see anyone from Alti-2, please tell them mucho thanks from the guys and gals at Fort Lewis College in Durango. -Blind "If you end up in an alligator's jaws, naked, you probably did something to deserve it."

My numbers are low because I essentially had to take a year and a half off to recover from a couple of corneal transplants. I've only recently started jumping agin and I plan to spend the entire winter and spring jumping heavily to get current again. It's somewhat reassuring to hear from people who are saying that I should be fine under a 300 or so. I'm used to 290's and 300's and am very comfortable with slow flight, riser turns, and flat turns under them. Before I switched to ZP a month back, I was also practicing accuracy and consistently getting within two meters of my target with my PD300. Don't get me wrong, I am not foolish enough to think I know enough already, but it does boost my confidence a bit to know I've already worked at least a little ways towards my goal. -Blind "If you end up in an alligator's jaws, naked, you probably did something to deserve it."

285 lbs currently though I hope to be down to at least 265 by the middle of next year, which was when I was looking at starting. -Blind "If you end up in an alligator's jaws, naked, you probably did something to deserve it."

There's a Westwind sitting at Conway, AR. It was a jumpship uintil a year or two back when the DZO got religion and turned the hangar into a church. Guess it didn't do him much good, last I heard he got himself severly bent a few months back after his cropduster crashed. -Blind "If you end up in an alligator's jaws, naked, you probably did something to deserve it."

Hello, I'm a large jumper and am considering getting into BASE. I haven't seen a BASE-specific canopy in my size, and was wondering if a MT-1 canopy could be converted for BASE use? Also, since this comes up semi-freqently in the skydiving forums. If I thought I could loose enough weight by the time frame I would like to BASE in, I wouldn't be asking about converting an MT-1. I've also spoken with Jay Epstein, and I am aware of the increased risk factors I would be facing as a large BASE jumper. -Blind "If you end up in an alligator's jaws, naked, you probably did something to deserve it."

That's weird. I used to get a lot of business from experienced Falcon owners because they, and other packers, did this and they'd get slammed. I'd propack and roll the entire nose until I had a decent amount of twist in the "A" lines. I always got complements on the openings. It's worked for fine for me for hundreds of packs on Falcons, Laser 9's, Navigators, Mantas and other large canopies. -Blind "If you end up in an alligator's jaws, naked, you probably did something to deserve it."

Anybody wanna video my crazy neighbor for me?
BlindBrick replied to Snowwhite's topic in The Bonfire
what about renting a tree chiper and then going to a slaughter house and buying a bunch of scraps. Pack said scraps into old clothes and make it look like you're disposing of the dismembered body of the last person who pissed you off. -Blind "If you end up in an alligator's jaws, naked, you probably did something to deserve it." -

I was sure wishing I had someone to CALL in March. I was ready to RALPH after a gear dealer failed to get me a container and totally ruined my plans to spend spring break jumping at Eloy. -Blind "If you end up in an alligator's jaws, naked, you probably did something to deserve it." -
difficulty in finding military replacement equipment
BlindBrick replied to bigfall's topic in Gear and Rigging
ParaFlite will no longer sell to civilians. They will however sell to peole possessing a military address. So it might be possible to have a military friend purchase and recieve the goods. I don't know if it's kosher with the UCMJ though. -Blind "If you end up in an alligator's jaws, naked, you probably did something to deserve it."
