  1. 1. What are you computer specs ? (CPU, RAM, Harddrive size) 2. Did premiere render the entire movie ? just as a tip, try defragmenting your harddrive prior to exporting to tape, and dont have anything else running at the same time with premiere. Other then that - you can also try the Export to tape option, and press record manually. Be Simple, Be Creative, Bee! Sharon.
  2. how are you trying to record to tape? just play the timeline and press the record on your camera ? - if your camera is controled by Premiere (DV Device) then of course if you'll press the record button on your camera the timeline will stop playing - it's as if you pressed the "SPACEBAR" key on your keyboard ... have you tried "PRINT TO TAPE" ? by doing that you actually let Premiere control the record process - it'll play the movie onto your cam, AND will start the recording process (using the DV device control)...so you only have to sit back and relax I'm just not following the exact problem in the exact procedure - but for every case there is a final explanation ... hope to help you get to it asap. 3. I Started with Premiere, and now I'm working on an Avid machine. Avid is a beast !! I think that for Premiere you'll find the most tutorials, information, tips, and feedback on the internet - so I would recommend to go with that as a way to learn your way into NLE - it worked for me :) checkout the Premiere forums and turorials at: http://www.creativecow.net http://www.wwug.com Be Simple, Be Creative, Bee! 4. You CAN choose selectivly which point the cam should focus on - check your camera manual (page 67) about Selecting AF Point Be Simple, Be Creative, Bee! Sharon.
  5. First off - dont worry, Avid can import ALL of your AVI files, and ALL of your Quicktime files (whichever you prefer to use for the time being) - as for later on - Avid uses OMF file system, which means that you wont be able to import those directly into anything else unless you export to a different format via Avid itself (not that you would want to get out of Avid ... so no worries here either) going into Avid is a trip, going back - can never happen. Have fun. Be Simple, Be Creative, Bee! Sharon.
  6. Well, with todays technology, and todays DVcams still resolution - I wouldnt jump high to get such a gadget, when you compare a 640*480 still from miniDV to a 6.3 Megapixels of Canon or Nikon digital SLRs... there is QUITE a difference, and I believe that photographers would go with the higher end resolution (a hunch) - but as for a future development it sounds like a great idea (when miniDV will actually have a 6.3megapixels capability of stills...... ) Be Simple, Be Creative, Bee! 7. exacly my point , the hawkeye is slightly wider, and with a cam on the side will feel like it's sliding off on the side of your head - that is if you have a narrow head (like me) - so the mindwarp feels much nicer, doesnt really move anywhere ... as for weight ? not sure if it's noticable, but since the mindwarp doesnt jiggle and move - it feels more attached and lighter (even though I dont think its actually IS lighter - but then again - I havent got a clue) Be Simple, Be Creative, Bee! Sharon.
  8. got one of each, and I love the fact that both have the audible pockets internally. the only thing that I feel different is that the mindwarp is more of a well - mindwarping - I think it fits more snugly - I think that the aviator is wider. thats pretty much all though - they both are excellent helms Be Simple, Be Creative, Bee! 9. I'm video editing using the Adobe Premiere, and I didn't find it as hard to learn as people claim it is to be (yes- I haven't tried anything else ...but who needs anything else anyway ?) - but it DOES require a robust machine to run it. I really like the control you have over editing in the Premiere. Paint The Sky In Blue, Sharon.
