  1. For those of you who are sick of RupertNews: http://indymedia.us/en/index.shtml
  2. "he started it!!" Such foolish childishness.. and you'd be surprised, if you knew the Real, unedited version of the US's history of foreign affairs. Remember that it's never as simple as they want you to think it is. There is no 'good' in this world as there is no 'evil'. We are all just crazy animals who will just never get along .
  3. Of course it does, especially when you consider what the US does throughout the world with impunity. http://mirrors.korpios.org/resurgent/CIAtimeline.html What is most scary is how uninformed their population is.. anyways, I think today is a truly sad day for humanity .
  4. Wow this country is incredible, 50million people voting for Hate, War, and Fear.
  5. Come on now Dave, you know perfectly well there's no such thing
  6. Ok. Abs and lower back, will do. I already to alot of pushups and situps, so I guess it should be ok. Hehe I hope it's fun. I won't be jumping for 3 weeks so I'm gonna need this to not go crazy (and stay kinda current). I'll probably want to do more but 30 minutes is already almost 700euros, and Im planning on buying my first rig soon. So thanks for the tips. I'll tell you how it went when I'm back. blue skies!
  7. Thanks for your replies. Yes, I know it's expensive, but I'll be in Paris to visit my family anyways. It's not a Paris/Orlando choice, otherwise I would def. be going to Orlando
  8. Hey guys, I'll be in Paris a few weeks at the end of the month, and I'm thinking of going to the windtunnel they have at aerokart. How much time do you guys think I should schedule for? I'm just looking to work on basic rw stuff. The guys at aerokart recommend doing 2x15min. I can afford it, but I probably won't be jumping alot during the winter here in NJ, so I'm wondering if I'll just forget what I learned. Also, what kind of physical preparation is recommended before going there? Ive read of people who were so sore that their last sessions of the day were just not productive at all.. blue skies!
  9. You should definetely get it checked out. I once hit my hand not so hard on a patch of ice while snowboarding, and my thumb was really swollen.. Didnt hurt that much but I got it checked out and there was a partial fracture. You probably shouldnt jump with any kind of hand injury though.. but it should heal pretty fast.
  10. Did you try countering the turn? Ask your instructor to teach you how to use your legs to turn, it'll increase your body awareness. The thing is, there could be a whole bunch of reasons why you were spinning. Just forget about it, relax, and try again
  11. Hey everyone, is there anyone in the Princeton area going to Xkeys Sunday? Sadly I don't have a car so Id be very grateful if someone could give me a lift (will pay for gas). cheers
  12. Peregrinerose, I did a coach jump yesterday and the exact same thing happened to me. I usually jump a 220, which wasn't available, so I was using a bigger rig with a 240 in it. It was one of the Javelin containers with the adjustable length on the sides. I was a little worried because I had read the SunPath bulletin and the threads regarding the incidents with these harnesses, but I really trust the riggers at Xkeys so I decided to jump with it anyways (plus I'm very light). The thing is, thinking about all this, I didn't think one second of making sure the length was right for me (and neither did my coach). It did feel a little loose, especially on the shoulders, but with my very limited experience I didnt worry about it. I knew that I would have to reach further back down to pull though, so that didn't surprise me too much at pull time. What did surprise me was my chest strap, when it came all the way up to my throat at opening. GULP . Another lesson learned. No instructor can know how the rig feels on you. If it's too loose, adjust it. If you can't, don't jump it. Glad you're OK though. And don't worry too much about your landing, it's already very good that you judged it good yourself. Next time you'll trust yourself even more and I'm sure you'll land fine
  13. This is probably the reason: http://isc.sans.org/diary.php?isc=d46940064182f61f40ca333bc3c2f439
  14. Woohoo! Graduated from AFF today
  15. Yeah it sure is easy to lose track of time, especially when everything is going great
  16. Man... I know how you feel.. I sprained my ankle really badly a couple years ago just by missing a step down some stupid stairs.. took more than a month to heal. Some of my rough landings have reminded me that it's still not 100%.. That's what sucks about foot injuries, they seem to never recover completely . Hope yours gets better fast! In the meantime, menthol and methyl salicylates!
  17. Hi everyone! Ive been reading these forums for a while now.. lots of great info and friendly people. You people have given some great tips for stability problems and that's helped me alot during my AFF jumps, as I seem to have an in-built left turn (relaxing and looking up at the sky usually helps me arch better though). I started jumping in May at Cross-Keys in NJ, and after 2 tandems I was completely hooked.. couldn't stop thinking about skydiving.. I have to say my work productivity has gone down a little . All the staff at XKeys are awesome, and I thank the instructors who have always been patient with me and eager to help me out. I did 3 AFF jumps yesterday, it was awesome
