  1. This one just cracks me up for some reason
  2. I don't think she gets it, G
  3. A polarizer will help darken the sky if the angle is correct - Polarizers are designed to reduce glare and reflection and should be used at an angle of 90 degrees to the sun - kind of hard to keep that angle when shooting a tandem video. You might want to try an ND, or Neutral Density filter - I've tried both on my video camera but I found that no filter at all works best for me. I stay pretty steep and deep while shooting tandem videos, usually steep enough to keep the drouge in frame and the face does end up in the shadows when the sun rides high in the sky - I just move in really close, 2-3 feet away from the students face, and that usually takes care of the problem for me. Not sure about the "Halo" you're talking about - I know if the subject is heavily backlit that can happen but I don't usually see that on tandem videos. What kind of video camera/lens are you using?? Peace, Z
  4. Two 35mm cameras, a flash, and a video camera on a Mindwarp? Yeah, I'm diggin' this idea. Why not just use a Protec?
  5. I didn't mean that it didn't help at all, cuz it did lighten the shadows a little. I just think that if he moved in a little closer the flash would have been much more effective. And nope - not in a sit. Granted, I'm arched like a cheeze doodle, but I ain't sittin Peace, Z
  6. I don't think the flash helped you out much in that situation - you're a little too far away for the flash to have much effect. In this instance, you're using the flash for more of a "fill flash" application. If you try getting a little closer and steeper, or underneath the tandem, you'll be more opposite the sun and you'll notice a much bigger effect from the flash. I've attached a couple of examples so you can see what I mean. Otherwise it's a pretty nice tandem pic
  7. Hell Yeah - If everything is on the up&up. That's an expensive toy under normal circumstances. That almost sounds too good to be true. One thing to think about though, Duc's require a lot of maintenance - not that it's not an awesome scooter cuz it's simply badass - Needs valve adjustments around every 5k or so and if you're not mechanically inclined it can be a pricey toy to own. And boy, once you see all of the exquisite carbon fiber goodies ....oooo you'll be in big trouble with the credit card companies But man is it ever a sweet ride. Lots o low rpm torque and your wrists will be killin' ya after an hour or two but hey, I haven't met anyone to date that doesn't think it's worth it
  8. You've seen that one, haven't you G? That's on my little running tape that Phil banned from the DZ
  9. Well, I'm working in sunny Northern California right now but when I get back home I'll find it and post it
  10. Not to burst your bubble Bubba but, neither you or me need to worry about jumping for some time - WAHH! I really love this one - I was told to just concentrate on getting better -" "
  11. Dear Tide Detergent Company: I'm writing to say what an excellent product you have! I've used it since the day I moved out of my parents house. My Mom told me it was the best. Now that I am older and wiser, I find it even better! In fact, about a month ago, I spilled some red wine on my new white shirt. My bitch of a wife began to berate me about how clumsy I was and she quickly became a major pain in the ass. One thing led to another and I ended up with a lot of her blood on my new white shirt. I tried to get the stain out using a bargain detergent, but it just wouldn't come out. After a quick trip to the supermarket, I purchased a bottle of liquid Tide with Bleach Alternative, and to my surprise and satisfaction, all of the stains came out! In fact, the stains came out so well, that when the detectives came by yesterday they told me that the DNA tests on my shirt came back negative. On top of that, my attorney called and said that I was no longer considered a suspect in the disappearance of my wife. What a relief. I thank you, once again, for having such a great product. Well, gotta go. I have to write a letter to the Hefty bag people... Signed, A truly happy husband
  12. Hell, I'm just goin' to tell the Doc that I AM in discomfort and pain - YANK THAT SHIT OUT! I'm already up way past the $60,000 mark for this little "incident" with at least two more surgeries to go so, for that kind o cash the Doc can put in the extra hours. The damned doctors act like their doin' this shit for free some times. By the way - that blister is the first thing i've seen to rival my skin graft - That's a good one
  13. Cleveland Parachute Center is a great DZ. I used to jump out there when I lived in Cleveland about 8 years ago - The DZ is in the middle of Amish country - it's just a great place to jump. Have fun- Peace, Z
  14. Nice funky alien green color on the x-rays
  15. Well, it certainly doesn't appear that all of the excess radiation has turned you into a superhero Welcome to the club
  16. Yeah, i don't think there will be a problem rounding up enough peeps with extra parts in this sport Guess the only problem will be landing Fuck it - I'm aimin' for the water Peace, Z
  17. Sweet! I just found out that I might need a bone graft in about six weeks - ugh! The good thing is that they said they might take out the hardware first and see if that helps my leg grow back together a little faster before they start chiseling bone off of my pelvis But hey, at least I'll be able to make it through the metal detector at the airport! Once you get that freakin' leg back together we'll have to put together an "All Metal" B.A.S.E jump Peace, Z
  18. Those x-rays don't make any sense to me. I can't tell what's what -
  19. Guess you'll just have to wear that old worn out thong under Clint's camera suit until you get the jacket back
  20. Ever hear the saying "It's better to be quiet and thought a fool than to open your mouth and prove it"? Peace, Z
  21. A blurry circle in the middle of the picture? That doesn't sound like overexposure to me. Are you using a filter by any chance? A common mistake is to use a Linear Polarizer (Designed to be used with Manual Focus systems) instead of a Circular Polarizer (Designed to be used with Auto Focus systems). When you set your camera in TV-Mode, you are basically forcing the shutter speed and the light meter/processors will calculate and select the correct aperture size required for proper exposure each time you press the shutter button (the film speed is also included in that equation but once selcted it stays constant). In other words - your shutter speed will stay constant while your aperture size will vary. It's kind of difficult to say what's happening but, if you scan a picture and post it maybe I can help- Peace, Z
  22. I want to - in a really bad way too. I went out to Snohomish for a while last weekend just to check it out. I filled out a waiver and the DZO even asked me if I'd like to do some videos when my leg gets better. It seems like a really nice place to jump and the peeps were your typical, fun-loving, hardcore skydivin' types. I had to take off though. Considering the fact that I went skiing with my cast on two weeks after I broke my arm, I knew I would have jumped if I stayed there any longer. WAAAAAHHHH Peace, Z
