    Yeah, my first one lasted for almost two years - then I went through 3 of the damned things in about two weeks. I finally found someone who bought one a couple years earlier as a back up so I bought it from him. That one has lasted over a year and a half. It's a freakin' crap shoot. Some are good - some, not so good. It doesn't take much to make that little plunger on the micro-switch stick.

    I used to work at Skydive San Marcos - I've had a LOT of fun down there. It's a great place with good, planes, good vibes, good people, and GREAT PARTIES - Damned good thing I lived so close Only thing I couldn't get used to was the freakin' heat. Not easy for a guy who grew up in Sweden

    Heh, yeah, I've seen those turtles. They're viscious. Just because lane-splitting is illegal here in OK doesn't mean it doesn't happen. But I pick and choose my battles carefully. My Gixxer isn't the narrowest of beasts. I did happen to see a biker grab a face full of taco bell last year though. He was lane splitting at about 30-ish though congestion and someone pitched a half-eaten burrito out the window without knowing the biker was coming.     Hey Diablo - good choice for a first scooter! Everyone has their favorites - mostly determined by their experience - but Yamaha makes a good bike, and they always have. Valve adjustments usually average about every 15,000 miles which is great. They run good, they're reliable, but most importantly, their fuckin' fun

    I defended a rookie who breached the standard of care in his perfomance of an open reduction/internal fixation of a right subtrochanteric fracture. He and his second year resident placed a 10-hole, 90 degree supracondular nail plate to act as the fixation with a 75 mm condylar screw when he should have reduced the fracture to 135 degrees. Well, did the patient drive away in a new Ferrari? And WTF is a subtrochanteric fracture??
