Those are the same Co's the GOV threatened with a suit of they told their employees they would get a pink slip in advance so they could plan a new career/life move right? So now they are just going to lay them off unannounced. Like our Company did. Same Co's the GOV wanted to hold off the lay offs till End of Oct, in a hope the news of 100,000's of lost jobs would not give away a Re-election? are they those companies? Yeah the 114,000~ "new jobs" number are BS, it discounts the equal, if not higher numbers lost. But one has to read many local papers and watch local media and add them up to see. Since the local mom and pop store than employees, 5 to 10 going our of business isn't big enough for the GOV to factor, or even care about. Nashville TN alone is out of balance, but no one wants that known as they try and court Co's to bring more business here. They even count 2000 jobs as "gained" for a project starting construction in 2013 but not "opening" for business till 2015. So I and my fellow lay off-ees we still work part time jobs (two in my case) and look for work, hoping it is nearby so I don't have to sell my home at a loss. Am I better off than I was four years ago? No. Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!

So it seems maybe a compromise would be to adopt a set of standardized rules for WS Instructors to use, maybe even say a I rating in any other field, excluding Tandem, should be held, at least we then have a minimum standard of Instructor Quality. Personally, if WSing goes away it harms me not. I am just trying to help keep friends alive and enjoying the aspect of the sport they like. But we Skydivers tend to be our own worst enemy. Tails Strikes happen, the Insurance folks don't like it, flying beyond the two nautical mile radius happens (with more than WS's yes) and GA Pilots complain, the FAA doesn't like that. Maybe once we have the calm rational adult conversations, we compromise on a Set of Standards, no Rating, and unify ourselves in front of the Insurance Co's and the FAA. Hopefully in the end, saving not only WSing, but Skydiving as well. Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!

Seems at one point there WAS standardization, but in many different locations. So when did it stop being the norm, as exposed in youtube videos showing first flight students, and experienced flyers exiting and going to an open wing immediately? If only she had been clearer, it appears she was only "concerned" and not alarmed, then maybe he would have been intercepted prior to the killings. Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!

Yes the title of the thread was written not for fact but for attention, he got ours. Yet, I still see "Standardized" being discussed, as it should. But because of personal bias and maybe grudges, the Wing Suit Community may do itself more harm than good. You all have fun, I am glad I made my WS jumps many moons ago, and honestly I was not inclined to keep going with it. But I am willing to help keep it going for the rest of you. The PM's are out of hand. The e-mail came to me, period. No you can not see it, no you can not e-mail the person. If true, I will gladly hep them. If true, a couple of you will be served. If true, a third party who has been watching you all in this thread will "win". It is just a mater of truth. If you told a fable, stretched the truth, or insulted or implicated some one in in e FELONY, you made the mistake and will live with it. If the e-mail is true. I for one hope it is. Maybe this is some one playing around; but I got an e-mail from a person claiming to be a Lawyer representing two of the slandered individuals mentioned in this thread. They wanted the screen shots and PM's mentioned in this thread. If real, good for them! If not, well, it should be! Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!

Standardized Wingsuit Instruction Opinion Poll
matthewcline replied to DSE's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Right now you have nothing in the way of standardization. That is a flaw, we only have one organization, another flaw. We have Wing Suit FFC "Guru's" teaching "how to strike a tail" exits, and then arguing they are doing it right. WS'rs are gonna end their fun, or have to go take chances at DZ's who don't carry insurance, or do maintenance, or reside in the US. Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!! -
Find me a Politician these days that's willing acknowledge this and maybe we'll be in business again. Until then, expect the politics from the Politicians to remain childish, adversarial, obstinate, polarized and brazenly dishonest while their whining becomes ever more shrill. FIFY Now, it is correct. Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!

Flock the Vote! - Wingsuit Instructor Poll
matthewcline replied to WickedWingsuits's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Then Propose a 50 FFC and 200 WSI Jumps standard, more along the lines of the AFF Program and with reduced WSI jumps to reflect the smaller group of "clients". But if you all in the community don't do some thing productive, your part of the sport in the USA will be done except for at Tail Gate and "Outlaw" DZ's. Didn't see that one, I was in an Army Only server. Interesting how that is a heavily filtered "VIP" list. I wonder who made the annotation, with what authority and evidence? Typically any thing "Official" would not put a personal opinion out as "fact" like that. So does this answer Jo's curiosities? Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. Massive Republican voter registration fraud uncovered in Florida
matthewcline replied to jclalor's topic in Speakers Corner
Seems more a case of improper labeling, as there is an actual person going to vote, and can vote for who ever they so choose, who cares who has more names on a list. Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!! -
I answered your Wavy Green question, twice at least. But here goes again. There are many on the lists I found, you can look at your lists, they are on the internet, just type it in with the service number. I did not run all of them down, not my job, that is yours. Then do the same for Duane, I did, he didn't show up. Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!

Standardized Wingsuit Instruction Opinion Poll
matthewcline replied to DSE's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Like all things adopted by USPA, it can be adjusted as need be. I think the bigger picture needs to be looked at, not the personal bias points we are seeing. Wingsuiting will die in the US if the Insurance Co's don't insure the A/C that allow it. The FAA is watching too, we have heard rumor of GA Pilots complaining that the WS'rs are flying out side the DZ's NOTAM'd radios. So fist things first, lets get some thing in place to keep WSing. Then continue to adjust it as things advance. But as we, the 30,000 USPA members, have shown, we can't even get our act together for simple things like an "A" license card. Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!! -
Jo, I do not "poke" at you, you just take every question personally. There are many "Wavy Greenes", but it is not my job to prove Weber is Cooper, it is my job to call into question things I see or think are wrong. I also see no "revelation" in Duane's fraudulent enlistment to the Army. He got caught before he could do much, so if there is a record, and it survived the fires in the warehouse, it would be pretty thin. But I also think the Navy record, IMO, would be thin, but to you it may be in "great detail". I hope last night you found the evidence that proves us all wrong, and is the true story. I never said he couldn't be Cooper, just doubt he was, as I have not seen any direct evidence that makes the logical leap. Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. I have made a coupe of jumps with out a reserve, one into combat even. I would do this jump, why not? If he didn't open the "X" chute and didn't know it was a dummy, yeah, he be a dummy too. @ Jo, you question has been answered, a few times now, so I will move on. Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!

In regards to your; "facts", sure, I have ignored responding directly to them. Mostly since the truth isn't accepted by you, or another here. So the FBI has stated to you they did not find Weber's prints on the plane? And the suspect did not wear gloves, yes? We still do not have Weber in any verifiable freefall training. But he might look like a guy who has forestry service firefighter training, and may have been in a camp with smoke jumpers. He might be a guy, who maybe, went to the Army for Training (unknown if he actually started or completed it). Wavy Greene, Wavey Greene, Wavy Green, Wavi Grean, etc yes a few of them do happen to be on the rolls. Weber stole or used fake identities, why not this one too? He was a crook after all, life long documentation of it, you even prove it. Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!

answer the many problems with your story before you go calling people "Idiots" just a few questions of many..... why did you skew everything on your map? "common sense and the obvious" correct!! so it matches your story! why do you claim Janets story to be true when you put Cooper on the ground way before she seen anything? common sense and the obvious? oops on Bob! explain how you think the flight path is 15 miles off to the east? remember they wouldn't have to go around Portland anymore! common sense and the obvious...oops again! explain how you rhink it's ok to use names such as Rataczak, Carr, O'Hara without there permission while stating they are lying? common sense and the obvious...correct...because they are not here to speak for themselves! explain why you think a oil pipeline runs along the Columbia? "common sense and the obvious" I think not! THE WHOPPER...explain how you think Matt is not being truthful about who you claimed TOG was! common sense and the obvious...correct again and busted again! stop calling people names when you can't even get your own story straight !! Some of those names are "lurking" and speaking, out side this asylum. Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!

Wave off - pull altitude for tandems w video
matthewcline replied to Skydivesg's topic in Tandem Skydiving
I wave them off at 5500' and pull after I watch them separate, this usually has me opening above the BSR minimum of 4500'. With today's slower opening Tandem and Up-jumper mains starting the process at 4500' or any lower starts to get dangerous. Since the Tandem rig must have and AAD (in the US) and they tend to cut the reserve closing loops at or around 2500' if you're risking a two out. The videoagrapher in trying to avoid you may find themselves low and in a similar situation. Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!! -

Standardized Wingsuit Instruction Opinion Poll
matthewcline replied to DSE's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Well there are two options right now for DZO's, insure your plane or not and risk all you have when a tail strike happens. The one major company willing to ensure jump planes is saying no more wingsuiting from side exit A/C. Having a system in place (and enforcing it, USPA'a down fall) might keep wingsuiting available to all. Soon it iwll be for tailgates and "rebels" only. Senate kills the Veterans Jobs Corp Act by a 58-40 vote
matthewcline replied to funjumper101's topic in Speakers Corner
Well the Act was brought up in a manner in violation of "the law" and the vote stopped that violation. The 60~ amendments may not have been a helpful thing either. The HOR Bill is moving forward and will (if passed) then go the Senate for a vote, as per the proper, or "legal", procedure, yes? I know your hatred of the Conservatives/Right/Republicans is strong, but do not blindly think the Liberal/Left/Democrats are any better. They are all Politicians, they all do the same shit for their benefit. Neither ideology alone is the fix. Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!
