Depends on how it's presented. If it's "you call and tell me where you are" that's one thing... if it's "please don't make me worry" that's different. I know it's probably hard to understand.... but one is control, the other care. It's a thin line. But... if she cares about him, he shouldn't HAVE to tell her to call... she just would. Wow!!! Applying for residencies already!!! This year is fun - stressful, but fun. What programs are you looking at? Do they have night float (almost all do... and honestly, having done my intern year without night float and the second year with.... Night float is SO MUCH better.) University based programs or community based? What kind of future are you looking at (fellowship or general practice)? Look at the numbers... kinda. To be credentialled, they have to meet minimum numbers... more important is how confident the residents FEEL with their numbers. You can do 100 vag hyst as an assist... just holding retractors and not be comfortable sitting down yourself or you can do 25 yourself and know the feel of dissecting the bladder off the cervix. Also do you want a bigger program that has lots of cool things, but you're three steps away from the action (Attending, Fellow, Senior Resident... maybe you) or do you want a smaller program where it might be you and an Attending? Finally.... it's four years of A LOT of work. Find someplace where you can destress as well. It's REALLY important. Bad things will happen, you will be tired and exhausted, you need to have someplace to escape to at times. (oh.... and if you don't have one yet.... Get a red book)

I spent some time with a friend of mine yesterday. While we were driving around, she was feeling out of sorts, stressed and asked me if I thought she was "normal." Like all of my friends... OF COURSE SHE'S NORMAL!!! Then the next question: "What's not normal?" My answer to her.... I can't understand how people can have infants... children... amazing souls waiting for love and support ... and treat them poorly. That's not "normal." I can't understand how people can have hopes and desires (even something as simple as playing the guitar in "Stranger than Fiction") and not try to achieve them. That's not "normal." I don't know what turns someone spirit and future to a life of mundane daily movements. That's not "normal." Unfortunately I had to tell her then... that the world has a lot of "not normal" people. But SHE was normal. Maybe it's a glass half full sort of thing, but I just want to see the potential that everyone has.... and that means looking sadly on the situation you described.... feeling for the lil girl, not understanding it myself.... but hopeful that someday her mom will become "normal."

Looking at your avatar... I still call bullshit. I know you've said they are, but.... You had them genetically grown at an accelerated rate. You bought them from gypsies when they were 10 or 15 or something. They are children from an alternate reality come to this timeline to learn your lessions. I'm just saying- Those are possible, but its not possible that you have children that old.

I looked at it again. I don't think that she's has had work done (besides the belly piercing and the ear thing). No surgical lines (granted surgery now is very good at hiding those and photoshop even better)... but I think that's her. I think that she's just young and pretty... But, whether the photo is enhanced or even tweaked a bit... a picture honestly does nothing to convey WHO she truly is.... and as you've said.... People automatically assume....

They're not saying that they wouldn't do her... just that after she ages a bit... maybe 5-10 years, puts on 15-20 lbs, and has a life besides catering to his every need.... then they be tired of banging her. Girls grow old, men grow cold.
