  1. But... with that post, it's really hard to help you This could be as mild as allergies to something as severe as pneumonia. There is so much more info that you would need to include: Any shortness or breath or trouble breathing? Any fevers or chills? Headaches, facial pain or dental pain? How long has this been going on? Any sick contacts? Any nausea or vomiting? Any allergies (seasonal, cats, medicines) Any other chronic medical problems (especially lung problems) What meds/drugs are you taking now (both legal and otherwise) Are you a smoker? But, since I can't take your vitals over the internet, nor listen to your lungs, nor run labs/x-rays.... I would recommend that if this lasts more than 7-10days, see someone. If you choose not to. The Mucinex D is a combination of guaifenesin (a cough suppressant) with pseudoephedrine HCl (sudefed - decongestant), and the benadryl is an antihistamine (but a rather sedating one). If I were you (and if you are as stubborn as I am about going to the dr), I would keep with the type of meds that you're taking (but I would switch the benadryl for some allegra or claritin, cuz benadryl just knocks me out). I would also add a little tylenol (following the bottles recommendations and assuming that you don't have liver problems). I would push the fluids and SLEEP! If this is a cold/flu, it should resolve in about a week to 10days. If it doesn't, see someone. In the meantime, try not to infect everyone else. Don't cough on your co-workers. Don't go to the dz just to give everyone else this wonderful gift WASH YOUR HANDS! LOTS! So... without really telling you much of anything, I hope it helped.
  2. OOOHHHHH!!!! A challenge! I like those.
  3. HEY..... smile or I'll send you another joke.
  4. I think you mean "the bar".... you need to assimilate better. (next thing you'll be referring to bonnets, or prams, or spotted dicks)
  5. All I see is a pussy with a toque ... hit the refresh/reload icon on the navagation tool bar
  6. READ THE BOTTLES! (silly peoples!) Most likely you're ok, but it can be dangerous, especially for children! Most important is whether the vitamins also contained iron - Iron Toxicity Vitamin Toxicity * Vitamin A o Acute toxicity effects include headache, photophobia, anorexia, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, drowsiness, irritability, seizures, and desquamation after 24 hours. o Chronic toxicity affects the skin, the mucous membranes, and the musculoskeletal and neurologic systems. o + Skin and mucous membrane effects include erythema, eczema, pruritus, dry and cracked skin, angular cheilitis, conjunctivitis, palmar and plantar peeling, and alopecia. + Musculoskeletal effects include pain and tenderness, particularly in the long bones of the upper and lower extremities, which may be exacerbated by exercise; epiphyseal capping and premature epiphyseal closure may occur in children. + Neurologic effects include blurred vision and frontal headache, which is often the first sign of toxicity. o Findings also include idiopathic intracranial hypertension (IIH), hepatomegaly, ascites, erythematous dermatitis, migratory arthritis, craniotabes in children, or bulging fontanelle in infants. o Recent studies suggest that elevated levels of vitamin A may cause increased bone resorption and promote development of osteoporosis.2,3 * Vitamin D o Acute toxicity effects are characteristic of hypercalcemia and may include muscle weakness, apathy, headache, anorexia, irritability, nausea, vomiting, and bone pain. o Chronic toxicity effects include the above symptoms and constipation, anorexia, abdominal cramps, polydipsia, polyuria, backache, hyperlipidemia, and hypercalcemia. o Findings may also include calcinosis, followed by hypertension and cardiac arrhythmias (due to shortened refractory period). * Vitamin E o Acute toxicity effects include nausea, gastric distress, abdominal cramps, diarrhea, headache, fatigue, easy bruising and bleeding (prolonged prothrombin time [PT] and activated partial thromboplastin time [aPTT]), inhibition of platelet aggregation, diplopia (at dosages as low as 300 IU), muscle weakness, and creatinuria. o Chronic toxicity effects include all of the above, suppression of other antioxidants, and increased risk of hemorrhagic stroke. * Vitamin K o This particular toxicity is typically associated with formula-fed infants or those receiving synthetic vitamin K-3 (menadione) injections. Because of its toxicity, menadione is no longer used for treatment of vitamin K deficiency. o Effects may include jaundice in newborns, hemolytic anemia, and hyperbilirubinemia. o Toxicity also blocks the effects of oral anticoagulants. * Vitamins B-1, B-2, B-12, and folate o Effects may be minimal and nonspecific. o Vitamin B-2 turns the urine yellow-orange. o Vitamin B-1 (ie, thiamine) toxicity effects may include the following: o + Tachycardia + Hypotension + Cardiac dysrhythmias + Headache + Anaphylaxis + Vasodilation + Weakness + Convulsions o Single acute toxicity is rare. * Vitamin B-3 (ie, niacin, nicotinic acid) o Acute toxicity effects are prostaglandin-mediated and include flushing, pruritus, wheezing, vasodilation, headache, increased intracranial blood flow, headache, diarrhea, and vomiting. o Chronic toxicity effects include jaundice, abnormal liver function test results, signs and symptoms of liver toxicity (most common with sustained-release preparations), and acanthosis nigricans (rare). * Vitamin B-6 (ie, pyridoxine) o Effects include tachypnea and sensory neuropathies, such as burning pains, paresthesias, ataxia, clumsiness, paralysis, and perioral numbness. o Findings range from normal CNS function to progressive sensory ataxias, profound impairment of position and vibration sense, and diminished tendon reflexes. * Vitamin C o Effects may be renal colic (ie, nephrolithiasis), diarrhea, nausea, rebound scurvy in infants born to women taking high doses, hemolysis if glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase (G-6-PD) deficiency is present, possible dental decalcification, and increased estrogen levels. o Findings may include occult rectal bleeding.
  7. I'm running the meeting. OH! Um.... I didn't mean "boring"..... I .... ah..... I gotta go pee.
  8. I tend to over document and monitor and track... I'm not exactly "anal retentive"... but like to keep meticulous records.
  9. Might be coincidental, but dehydration is the most likely and most easily treated cause, so keep pushing the fluids! Don't give up on the donating though, cuz until we get better with the synthetic O2 carriers, we still need those supplies in the hospitals. So thank you VERY MUCH for giving. I have given over 9 gallons myself (I haven't donated in 3mos, but with my two recent surgeries.... and the post op anemia that I had.... probably should wait a couple more before even considering) But my goal is 10 gallons. (but even once I hit that, I will still likely then pick a new goal... like 100 units.... then a new goal....) The worst "reaction" that I ever had was headache, nausea cuz I hadn't eaten anything prior to donating (partially because the group here also monitors your cholesterol levels with your donation and I wanted it to be a fasting level... bad idea) When your body feels depleted, headaches are very common. I hope that you start feeling better.
  10. No... I think he's following the story line, he's just trying to set you up by using both the "whore" term and "fat" to get you flamed by as many as possible. Don't worry, most knew what you were saying. And... it was nice of you to continue to go to the dance with the innocent bystander in that battle, I just wish that you could have gotten to actually know her as a person and not see her as a way to destroy your social standing... but as you said, in high school things can be different. Hope your luck with women has changed.
  11. You say that as if having a veneral disease is a *bad* thing! Walt It pays the bills.
  12. I think he's calling her an old sheep either that or urban dictionary seems to think its an actual saying.
  13. and which is the most intimidating? That she's smart? self assured? or a red head?
  14. Gulp....Oh my! WHAT?! It'll make it easier for her to do self breast exams.
  15. Nope. After having done some further research, I have no anger toward you on this argument. There are some battles that I won't fight.
  16. so do we need to hear more often when someone dies? and I don't quite get the discussion...I don't think anyone has said that it was "more sad" than any other young person who died today or will tomorrow. He happens to be famous so we discuss. I liked his acting. It's sad he's gone. Maybe we can get HH to make a forum where someone can make a post for every single person who dies every single day. seems to state what you were accusing me of saying.
  17. How does equate to I don't understand your argument or your anger I can't understand if a. you truly did misread and misunderstand my intended message b. you're looking for a fight c. This skier was your brother/friend/lover/something and you're hurt with any imagined insult d. you're trying to compete for Walts sig line. at any rate.... WE ALL DIE, now go and live your life in the way that makes the whole journey meaningful to you.
  18. You totally misread my post if you believe that was my intended message. I'm not insulting you. I'm stating fact. I knew what I was thinking when I posted it. You did not. BUT you arrogantly assume that I'm dismissing his, or the other doctors or anyones death. That is NOT what I said I am NOT minimizing his death, rather trying to focusing on the fact that he lived as he wanted. THAT was the focus of my post. I'm not so naive to assume that I won't die - it might be skydiving, it might be skiing, it might be a pulmonary embolus from a clot due to immobilization. I don't know. But what I do know is that I would prefer that people remember that I lived the way that was important to me regardless of whether it might kill me or not. Explaining my philosophy of life to you might just result in anger and argument... but it's still my philosophy on life.
  19. Nah... nobody notices that. It's much more fun to pull a random sentence out of a post out of context and use that to display how cold and heartless I am.
  20. There has to be one in every f'n thread... huh? As a wise person pointed out to me recently, when someone in our culture dies, they become almost godlike in the eyes of the people who liked them and anything said about the deceased that does not put them in a godlike light is considered to be quite evil by some. In this case, someone having the gall to point out that one person's death may not be any more tragic than someone else's could be considered evil. Make sense? Walt But yet if you (or he) were to ACTUALLY READ the whole post, I actually defended the LIFE that he chose to live rather than mourn the tragedy of the end. So it's evil now to say that HE CHOSE to be who he wanted to, to live by his rules and ultimately to died.... just like everybody else should? Nope, doesn't make sense.... unless partial illiteracy or selective comprehension is the excuse. I wasn't joking about his death, I wasn't saying "he shouldn't have....", I was just commenting that death happens to everyone. At least he lived it the way that he wanted.
