  1. I'd love to fly with you sometime, i'll drop you a line next time i head up there. and you're right it didn't happen today so instead i went home and walked the draw by myself really really fast, i think i did a 30 average History does not long entrust the care of freedom to the weak or the timid. --Dwight D. 2. just an observation but a lot of the coaches I see are guys with barely enough jumps to hold the rating and absolutely no coaching ability whatsoever. A coach course doesn't make you a coach experience as a coach does, students shouldn't have to pay some guys who just passed the coach course, the coach should be doing it for free(maybe earning a discount lift ticket) so he can get the experience to be a good coach. 3. It's a perfect canopy except you want to swoop. Quote I disagree with that, for the level canopy it is the Pilot can be quite the swoop monster if you dial it in right. to the original poster, in my 250 jumps on a pilot I've had 3 bad openings, one was completely my fault, line twists one time, and every once in a while it'll go off heading on opening but never bad, and you can feel it coming when it wants to turn and compensate ahead of time. I always love my landings on that canopy, I was so happy with it I just bought another one when I downsized. History does not long entrust the care of freedom to the weak or the timid. --Dwight D. 4. How is your Ranch teammates search coming along? Quote A few people have dropped me a line to introduce themselves, I can't make any comittments though because this whole thing is only tentative. I would really love to head up there as I would be getting an amazing opportunity but until I know what the future has in store I'm mostly just trying to do a little networking. lookin back i probably should've titled this thread a bit different. and I'm definitely glad I did that session with ya as a tail, I think we would've lost a lot of points if we had been piece partners. 5. whoa!!! what r u tryin to say that girl i'm flirtin with from my other job is 19 so I got 18 beat by a whole year History does not long entrust the care of freedom to the weak or the timid. --Dwight D. Eisenhower
  6. he would be capable of doing a 16+ average, especially with him being in the tail slot. Quote I'd be fightin to keep up!!!! I pulled it off but that score was me fightin for survival, and it definitely helps when the other three in the air are the best in the buisness. if you took four of me and threw us in the air it would probably be somewhere closer to a 9 or 10 if we even made it to plane, my guess is I'd end up beatin the crap out of me after a long argument over who's hair looks better Liz I never argued with you that tail wasn't for me I just like OC better at the time, I never realized how hard you had to work as a tail until Rosa and I did that 2 on 2. I love how agressive tail slot forces you to be and I like spinnin pieces more than being spun at the top of a piece. But if you really wanna hear it, you were right History does not long entrust the care of freedom to the weak or the timid. --Dwight D. Eisenhower
  7. Nope, you will need a sugar mama. Quote if you find an extra one of those could you send her my way History does not long entrust the care of freedom to the weak or the timid. --Dwight D. Eisenhower
  8. Tdog and I are trying to do a pickup team for the CSL meet tomorrow anyone interested drop me a line. Travis will be the inside, i'll fly whatever is left, i'd prefer outside but i'm willing to compromise. we're most likely doing the open class draw, cuz slot switchers be fun!! 9. For example, was it 16+ in the tunnel or from the plane? Who were the other 3 on the 4 way? More power to ya if you hit those numbers at your experience level, I'm jealous!!! I've been doing this for a long time with the best of coaches and still can't do a 16+ without a player-coach in the mix.Quote i can answer those for ya, ur right i probably should've put the asterix next to my previous statement. the score was from the 2003 nats open class draw, i did it in the tunnel with Andy H., Andy D. and Brian Johnson. I know the tunnel is a lot different when it comes to the scores you'll post but it's the only refference i've had recently to show me where i'm at. and i know that the other three i was flying with had a lot to do with that score as well, but it is awesome to be able to get in there and really see how everything is supposed to look, there's no doubt who made the mistakes on those jumps so it makes the video debrief go that much smoother also remi, i really would love to post the vids, but i honestly have no clue where any of my skydiving dvd's are, i lost the whole book of em on a trip to albequerque last week History does not long entrust the care of freedom to the weak or the timid. --Dwight D. 14. straight up if you want to go to the tunnel and get good, go to an Airspeed camp. I went to my first one when I had barely 100 jumps and when i came out i was getting invited on 4 ways with groups who all had over 1000 jumps, those camps will do amazing things for you flying, and like i mentioned in another thread after doing about four more Airspeed camps that they put together for me i can push a 16+ average. they rok History does not long entrust the care of freedom to the weak or the timid. --Dwight D. Eisenhower
  15. i'm not going to be out there until this winter so you've got some time, and don't worry about not being the best flyer yet, we all had to start somewhere. i'm looking for attitude more than skill, i can be on a team with someone who isn't the worlds greatest four way flyer but i won't stand for someone who wants to be on a competition team and doesn't want to push themselves to be the best, i'm competitive as hell what can i say. keep in touch History does not long entrust the care of freedom to the weak or the timid. --Dwight D. Eisenhower
  16. I just found out I may be moving to New York around thanksgiving and will be about 30 minutes from the ranch, I'd really like to put together a kick ass 4 way team when i get there. Does anyone know of any teams looking for a fourth, or if there's anyone else there looking for a team? History does not long entrust the care of freedom to the weak or the timid. --Dwight D. 17. yeah they were and all it was good for was making it humid and hot, and of course every once in a while a big drop would come in and nail ya History does not long entrust the care of freedom to the weak or the timid. --Dwight D. Eisenhower
  18. that's a great point Ron, either can be adjusted when i really need to punch it out sometimes i'll put my arms almost staight up over my head to arch my chest more, not a mantis or box really a little of both. 19. i was there this weekend, unfortunately i couldn't fly as my bank in their infinite wisdom chose 4th of uly weekend as the right time to sht down their system for ugrades, so i was broke all weekend! i just went up to say hi to Kirk and wish em luck in germany. all but one of the camps i've done were put together just for me, they're great about doing things like that. Basically in the last 10 months they took me from someone who could get 3 or 4 points, all random to someone that can do a 16+ average on a 10 round open class draw, we did it a few weeks ago, and they did this when i only have 300 jumps, so their coaching is priceless. with the pace they've had me improving i'm setting my sights on being able to fly a 20+ average by the time i hit 1000 jumps. 20. my legs aren't out further when i'm in a mantis position, being in the mantis actually allows me to bring them in to increase my fall rate History does not long entrust the care of freedom to the weak or the timid. --Dwight D. Eisenhower
  21. i can relate to ya on that heat bro i was there two weeks ago and was buring up. i've also done about 5 camps with them this year, one of their standard ones, a 3 day one my team set up with Neal a 2 on 2 session that Kirk and Eliana did for Rosa and I and a couple three on on session(those were my favorite) it's amazing what they ca do for your flying.
